- Such devices are necessary or at least expedient because the effective length of the pendulum arms 21 which determines the pendulum frequency of the pendulum arms 21 with the passenger gondolas 23 is selected such that the pendulum frequency at a preferred operating speed of the central structure 3 is equal to the pivoting frequency of the boom 15. Because of the independent rotary drive of the cam ring of the eccentric device 8, this swivel frequency does not need to match the operating speed (rotational frequency) of the central structure; rather, for example, when the cam ring is driven in opposite directions, the swivel frequency is greater than the rotational frequency.
