Definitions
- the invention relates to a sliding contact arrangement, in particular for a carbon brush, of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a sliding contact arrangement is known from DE-C 881 831 in various versions.
- the locking device is combined with the pressure spring and consists of expandable spring arms, balls, levers or the like, which block the lower end of the pressure spring against upward movement.
- This locking device is intended to prevent the sliding contact body from being lifted from the slip ring or the like by shocks and vibrations, without the spring force of the pressure spring having to be dimensioned excessively large for this purpose.
- the known locking devices are on the one hand relatively complex mechanical constructions, and on the other hand they cannot prevent the sliding contact body shifts or tilts in the holder, whereby a faultless contact of the sliding contact body on the slip ring or the like can be impaired despite the locking device.
- the object of the invention is to develop a sliding contact arrangement of the type mentioned in such a way that improved guidance of the sliding contact body in the holder is achieved with the simplest possible design of the locking device.
- the locking device has a double function, namely a lateral guide in the feed direction and a locking force in the opposite direction.
- the resilient bristles also do not cause a rigid blocking of the sliding contact body, but rather allow small movements against the feed direction due to their spring stiffness, without the contact force of the contact spring being influenced in normal operation.
- a sliding contact body guided movably in a holder is known, on one side surface of which a Current contact with a plurality of resilient, inclined contact tongues is present, so that the current transfer is distributed over a plurality of contact points on the side surface of the sliding contact body. Due to the resilient contact tongues, the sliding contact body is guided with low friction during its feed movement, but there is no blocking action against the feed direction by spreading the contact tongues.
- the carbon brush 1 is displaceably guided in the shaft-like holder 2 and is loaded by a pressure spring 3 designed as a helical spring.
- a pressure spring 3 designed as a helical spring.
- the bristle strips 6 with short, stiff bristles, which are arranged in an inclined position towards the holder 2.
- the bristle strip 6 is attached to the carbon brush 1, and the bristles 6a are obliquely upward from the bristle strip 6.
- the bristle strip 6 is attached to the inner surface of the holder 2 as an alternative embodiment, the bristles 6 a being directed obliquely downwards in the direction of the carbon brush 1 are.
- the bristles 6a are dimensioned with respect to their length and rigidity so that they allow the carbon brush 1 to move downward under the force of the pressure spring 3, but they spread out between the carbon brush 1 and the holder 2 with each movement of the carbon brush 1 and that Block upward movement. Due to the bending stiffness of the bristles 6a, a certain small spring travel of the carbon brush 1 in the holder 2 may still be possible, in which case the additional spring force exerted by the bristles 6a is substantially greater than that of the pressure spring 3 and, for example, progressively increasing.
- the bristle strips 6 with the bristles 6a can be made of any suitable material, in particular a sufficiently rigid plastic or steel.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 2 largely corresponds to that according to FIG. 1, but the holder 2 is displaceably arranged in a stationary guide 8 and can move slightly upwards against the force of an additional spring 7, for example a plate spring.
- an additional spring 7 for example a plate spring.
- bristle strips 6 and bristles 6a are fastened as a latching and feeding device, which are inclined downwards in the direction of the carbon brush 1.
- the bristles 6a can be dimensioned such that they have essentially no spring travel for the carbon brush 1 upwards allow, since a corresponding spring travel of the holder 2 is possible due to the additional plate spring 7.
- Both embodiments have in common that the carbon brush 1 is latched or spread on the holder 2 in the event of an upward movement in such a way that upward movements are only achieved by overcoming an additional spring force provided by the bristles 6a in FIG. 1 or the plate spring 7 in FIG. 2 will be possible.
- Appropriate dimensioning of the size and the progressive characteristic of this additional spring force which can be selected completely independently of that of the actual pressure spring 3, effectively prevents movements of the carbon brush 1 against the pressure direction.
- the bristle strips also improve the guidance of the sliding contact body in the holder, or the spring play reduces the holder play.
- the latching or spreading device can also take over the task of contacting and supplying current to the carbon brush 1 if metallic or in any case conductive material is used for the bristle strips 6 and bristles 6a.
