Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fire protection door made of a box-shaped door leaf including mineral fiber panels.
  • the view sides of the door leaf are formed by two cover plates.
  • the end faces of the door leaf are formed by angled edge strips of the cover plates and a frame.
  • the frame bridges a gap between the edge edges of the cover plates and is formed from a profile.
  • the longitudinal edge strips of the profile which has an open groove, are angled.
  • a bar foaming under the influence of heat is arranged.
  • Such a fire door is known from DE-PS 34 23 550.
  • the space between the cover sheets forming the visible sides of the door leaf and the surrounding frame forming the end faces of the door leaf is filled with mineral fibers. Because these are said to contain organic binders, there are fears that the organic binders will decompose at high temperatures and, as a result, flammable, explosive flue gas will develop and accumulate.
  • the known fire protection door to form the end faces of the door leaf by means of a frame provided with openings, the frame being to consist of a profile which has a dovetail-shaped groove which is open to the outside.
  • the openings in the frame should be arranged in the form of elongated holes in the base of the groove.
  • a cover strip with two legs should reach behind the dovetail-shaped groove, the cover strip being to be filled with a non-flammable material that foams up in the heat.
  • the weight saving of the door described above is negligibly small compared to conventional doors, since this results at best from the material punched out of the profile to form the elongated holes.
  • the elongated holes themselves can prevent smoke gas accumulation within the door leaf. However, if flammable flue gas escapes from the door leaf, this increases the risk of spreading the fire to neighboring rooms. If, on the other hand, the cover strip filled with material that foams up when it is hot, the gap between the door leaf and the frame succeeds to seal, the elongated holes in the profile that forms the front frame of the door leaf are ineffective as a result, since the flue gas cannot escape.
  • the invention has for its object to propose a fire door of the type described above using mineral fiber panels to be arranged in the door leaf box, the ignition of a fire from one door leaf side to the other being made more difficult.
  • two mineral fiber boards can be arranged parallel to one another with the aid of the frame, which distance corresponds to the width of the profile part from which the groove open to the outside is formed.
  • the angled longitudinal edge strips of the profile engage positively in the front groove of the mineral fiber plates and fix them in the intended position without the frame covering the mineral fiber plates over the full width of the end face and a longitudinal edge strip having to lay on the outer side surfaces of the mineral fiber plates, whereby the heat-transferring contact area between the frame and the cover plates of the door leaf would be increased and, in addition, the mineral fiber plates would have to be arranged at a distance from the cover plates according to the thickness of the angled longitudinal edge strips.
  • the frame and the mineral fiber boards can be prefabricated into a compact, stable unit that fills the interior of the door leaf box in a form-fitting manner, whereupon the cover plates have to be fitted snugly on both sides of the unit and their angled edge strips with the frame, for example, by Gluing or spot welding are to be connected.
  • the frame can be advantageous to form the groove in the frame profile relatively deep, which has the further advantage that the filler tunnels arranged in the groove in addition to the foaming bar under heat can receive a relatively large cross-section.
  • the frame can be stiffened particularly effectively and thereby receives a large bending moment even if the material of the profile from which the frame is formed is relatively thin-walled.
  • the cross-section of the groove of the profile and the sum of the cross-sections of the bar and the filler block made of plaster are matched to one another such that the bar and the filler block completely fill the groove of the frame.
  • the bar With regard to the arrangement of the bar and the filling tunnel to one another, it can be advantageous for the bar to cover the filling tunnel or else the filling tunnel to the outside.
  • the foaming strip under the heat will partially push the filler tunnel out of the groove against the frame, so that in any case an effective seal in the gap area between the front face of the door leaf and the opposite surfaces of the frame is achieved.
  • the bar and the filler tunnel are each covered with a PVC film. It can also be advantageous to cover the bar and the filler tunnel with a common PVC film.
  • a separate arrangement of the bar and the filling gallery is advantageously possible according to a further embodiment of the invention in that two channels are formed from the PVC film, wherein the bar is arranged in one channel and the filling gallery is arranged in the other channel.
  • a further embodiment of the invention provides that projections or depressions are provided in soffits in the groove of the frame, which correspond to depressions or projections of the PVC film.
  • This configuration allows the bar and the filler studs to be held in a simple manner within the groove of the frame, for which it is sufficient that the PVC-coated ledge and the filler stud with a slight elastic deformation of the PVC casing and / or the soffits of the groove of the Frame are pressed into the groove, whereupon the projections snap into corresponding recesses and thus fixation is accomplished.
  • the profile can be composed of two profile parts with a Z-shaped cross section, between the parts of which form the bottom of the groove, an insulating strip is arranged overlapping legs.
  • the fire protection door essentially consists of a box-shaped door leaf 1. This is composed of two cover plates 2, 3 and a frame 4 and includes two mineral fiber plates 5.
  • the frame 4 which bridges the edge edges 6 of angled edge strips 7 of the cover plates 2, 3, is formed from a profile which has a groove 8 which is open to the outside.
  • a strip 10 which foams up under the action of heat and a filling block 11 made of gypsum are used, which are held by bead-shaped projections 12 on the film 9 and corresponding depressions 13 in the reveals of the groove 8.
  • Edge strips 14 of the frame 4 which are angled toward the inside of the door leaf box engage in grooves 15 which are provided in the end faces of the mineral fiber plates 5 and fix them at a parallel distance from one another, so that the mineral fiber plates 5 lie tightly against the inner sides of the cover plates 2, 3.
