Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fuel distributor for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines of the type defined in the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a fuel injector is e.g. known from GB-A-21 38 887, in which the fuel connection to the fuel distributor is made from above towards the valve housing via a connecting piece with the interposition of an elastic ring which seals and dampens vibrations.
  • an elastic ring which seals and dampens vibrations.
  • valve needle strikes the stop disk which delimits the needle stroke when the valve is opened, and considerable valve noises are passed on to the valve body.
  • the valve body is supported in the upper and lower area by large O-rings against the wall of the receiving bore, which on the one hand serve to ensure the fuel tightness of the fuel injection valves to the outside and on the other hand the valve carrier in the radial direction Decouple sound from the valve body.
  • structure-borne noise is still transmitted to the valve carrier via the body clamped by the holder on the valve carrier and then passed on through the fuel supply line or the connector housing.
  • the fuel distributor according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that a complete acoustic decoupling of the fuel injector from the valve carrier is achieved by the molded ring made of elastomer. The sound decoupling is separated from the fuel seal, which is still done via O-rings. Any hard coupling between the valve body of the fuel injection valve and valve carrier is thus avoided.
  • the fuel distributor shown in longitudinal section and only in sections in FIG. 1 is used for mounting, fueling and electrical contacting of electromagnetically actuated fuel injection valves 10 in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines.
  • the fuel rail has a valve carrier 11 with stepped receiving bores 12 for one fuel injection valve 10 each.
  • Each receiving bore 12 connected to a fuel supply line 31 guided in the valve carrier 11 is designed as a through bore and has an orifice opening 14 for the injection nozzle 13 of the fuel injection valve 10.
  • the fuel injection valve 10 shown in longitudinal section and in detail in FIG. 2 has a valve body or a valve housing 15, which is closed at the end by a plug housing 16.
  • the valve needle 15 and the electromagnet 17 for actuating the valve needle, which cannot be seen here, are accommodated in the valve housing 15.
  • the winding ends of the excitation winding 18 of the electromagnet 17 are electrically conductively connected to plug pins 19 which extend in the axial direction and are electrically conductively connected to contact lugs 20 accessible externally on the plug housing 16 via contact elements in the plug housing 16.
  • the connector housing 16 is seated with an end flange 26 on the annular end surface 30 of the valve housing 15, and projects with a circumferential collar 21 on the end flange 26 over the circumference of the valve housing 15.
  • the valve housing When the fuel injection valve 10 is inserted into the receiving bore 12, the valve housing is supported 15 radially on the bore wall of the receiving bore 12 via two large O-rings 22 and 23 serving to seal the fuel injection valve 10 to the outside, of which the O-ring 22 is arranged near the injection nozzle 13 and the O-ring 23 near the plug housing 16 while the collar 21 rests on the end flange 26 of the plug housing 16 on an annular support shoulder 24 surrounding the receiving bore 12 in the valve carrier 11.
  • the fuel injection valve 10 is fastened in the receiving bore 12 by a holder 25, which is only indicated in sections in FIG. 1 and is fastened to the valve carrier 11 with an axial force of greater than 400 N.
  • the holder 25 engages on the rear side of the end flange 26 facing away from the valve housing 15 on the plug housing 16 and on the surface of the valve carrier 11. The fuel injection valve 10 is thus fixed in the receiving bore 12 in the axial direction.
