Definitions

  • the invention relates to an autonomous radio clock according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • This radio clock switches its receiver periodically, to predetermined ones Times temporarily to the current Time display if necessary based on current Time telegrams received and decoded by radio to correct.
  • the receiver is also switched on when inserting a battery or in operation when a reset transmitter call button is pressed, through which at the same time the momentary Time display in a reference position (there 00:00:00) driven and a system reset of the processor is triggered in which the time telegram decoding and the implementation of the time information in the The time display is activated.
  • the Radio reception provides valid time information
  • the receiver is switched off again and the time display in rapid to the corresponding, the actual one Appropriate position at the moment. If the time display with optoelectronic Means works. the electrical control takes place the corresponding optical segments or sectors practically free of distortion.
  • the actual current time is mechanical Parts (such as the gear train for pointers or the drive mechanism for digit drop flaps) moves must then become a finite one Time required, but with a tracking control is automatically taken into account so that in this case too, finally the time display means display the actual correct time.
  • Such a disturbance could be the processor reset when the receiver is switched on Control button, however, are felt if it is activated unintentionally and thereby the current one Register content in the processor is deleted. Then a certain amount of time passes until enough Time telegrams for checking them for plausibility could be received and decoded to then the contents of the register and the time display back to the correct current time.
  • This is especially annoying when you are concerned with his radio clock on the edge or outside the reception area of the time transmitter, so that not easily and maybe only in a few hours (or in the upcoming night) again undisturbed Time telegrams can be received until so there is no time display. So with one Design of the radio clock as a wristwatch an involuntary, thus unwanted actuation of the reset button occur.
  • radio clock as an alarm clock, so with trigger an alarm at a predeterminable time is designed, then it can happen that someone accidentally presses the processor reset button, although he has an alarm tone repeat program through another switch wanted to initiate. The alarm however, is canceled and the repeat program not started if the for its control responsible processor (mistakenly) with all its control functions have been reset.
  • the invention lies in the knowledge of these facts the task is based on a radio clock of the generic type Kind on the one hand the proven simple Type of receiver activation (without, for example to have to change the battery) and on the other hand from an involuntary Operating errors resulting from incorrect operation to avoid.
  • a switch which are referred to as the transmitter call button as before can, but its operation does not reset the processor but only the - temporary - activation of the recipient. It the display returns to a defined reference position driven to make it clear that a new synchronization of this radio clock is imminent.
  • the receipt should not be usable Time information then leads to reduction the power requirement of the radio clock of the receiver switched off again and the time display device henceforth again from the (previously not deleted and timed) register operated.
  • the erroneous or playful operation of the receiver switch leads to poor radio reception conditions not a longer one Failure to display the still correct Time, and also any entered time-dependent Features such as an alarm program have been not deleted, so they are still without new ones Entry requirements for time-dependent activation or the undisturbed process after their activation to disposal. Also continues to be controlled from the undeleted time register, the periodic (e.g. hourly or daily) short-term receiver activation, order based on currently received Time telegrams the actual time display check and correct if necessary.
  • the periodic e.g. hourly or daily
  • the user of the radio clock provide information about how long the final check and, if necessary, correction of the Time display based on a received time telegram with what uncertainties meanwhile the current time display is affected can be. For this, it will be convenient counted the cycles in which the periodic processor controlled temporary reactivation of the recipient occurred without becoming a usable To have time information. This is shown Counting result, i.e. approximately hours at hourly Receiver activation or days with daily receiver activation. This display will change to the start count value Reset (zero) or completely deleted, if a time telegram decoding is usable Time information leads the mere fact that an advertisement appears then makes it recognizable that exceptionally poor radio reception conditions exist that namely unplanned long no check of the displayed time take place could.
  • the sketched radio clock 11 has an antenna 12 connected to a time transmitter frequency matched or tunable receiver 13 with decoder 14 for those in the demodulated Reception information 15 contains current time information 16 on.
  • This decoded time information 16 is in a register 17 for controlling a time display device 18 passed, which is (as indicated in the drawing) around a pointer representation can act or not (in the drawing a digital (numerical) presentation the current time information 16.
  • a time display device 18 passed, which is (as indicated in the drawing) around a pointer representation can act or not (in the drawing a digital (numerical) presentation the current time information 16.
  • both Cases can be performed via mechanically moving Elements (pointers, trap doors) take place, or else via appropriate segment or sector controls of electro-optical displays.
  • a reset switch 19 is provided when it is operated manually, a reset signal 20 is triggered via a bistable circuit 21 the receiving device (i.e. the receiver 13 and if necessary switches on the decoder 14), those to save performance especially at a battery powered radio clock 11 normally turned off is.
  • a switch-off pulse 24 After a predetermined period of time T - represented in the drawing by a monostable or time circuit 22 -, or if the Radio reception utilizable time information 16 has delivered and therefore a receipt confirmation signal 23 appears, a switch-off pulse 24 generates the bistable circuit 21 in the initial state resets and thereby the previously output switch-on signal 25 ended.
  • the recipient 13 has one with undisturbed radio reception Synchronization line 26, the phase position of an autonomously free-running synchronizing circuit 27, which is now the one currently entered by the receiver 13 Time information 16, for the continuous further presentation by means of the time display device 18, forwarded.
  • the reset switch again 19 or periodically, for example when reaching one on the hour, which decodes in the time register 17 is and for the output of a switch-on pulse 28th leads, the receiving device is again for the predetermined time period T switched on, if not a receipt confirmation signal even before this time period T has elapsed 23 to switch off the The receiving device appears.
  • the reset signal 20 also leads to a System reset of the processor 29 in which the Functions of the decoder 14 to deliver the current time information received via radio 16, des Time register 17 for controlling the time display device 18 and a coincidence circuit 30 for time-dependent triggering of further time-derived Functions are realized.
  • These others Functions can particularly affect control at least one appointment signal generator 31 when reaching a point in time, which means a handle 32 can be predetermined.
  • a handle 32 can be predetermined.
  • the reset switch 19 expediently so as a wristwatch and / or radio clock 11 designed as an alarm clock, that it cannot be operated by mistake, for example due to a handling reflex Occurrence of a wake-up signal or due to a unintentional impact against a wristwatch.
  • It is a receiver switch 33 provided, its operation - in the illustrated Circuit example over another OR input of the time circuit 22 - for triggering a receiver switch-on signal 25 without simultaneous processor system reset
  • this switch 33 to be actuated a memory 35 and a switch 36 one here so-called display reset such that the time display device 18 in a defined predetermined Reference position is moved with the reference position match when a processor reset occurs can and for example in the time display 00:00:00 exists.
  • the function of the processor 29, however, remains intact; i.e. it takes place for example when the coincidence circuit responds 30 triggering a normal, over a Stop switch 37 influenceable alarm program.
  • the display device 18 correct from the register again 17 driven when either the receiver is turned on was successful and in addition to decoding a time information currently received by radio 16 for the appearance of the confirmation signal 23 led; or if according to a given Time period T has not yet decoded any reception information 15 could be and therefore for performance savings the receiving device first of all is switched off again by pulse 24.
  • a radio clock 11 For the user of a radio clock 11 it can, in particular if it is an alarm clock, be of practical interest to know how well saves the currently displayed time information 16 compared to the information that can be received via radio 15, i.e. when the currently displayed time information 16 last with decodable reception information 15 was compared.
  • the smallest adjustment cycle Z is determined at what intervals the switching pulse triggered by register 17 28 appears, for example every hour. That of it OR from the manually triggered activation signal 34, caused receiver turn-on signal 25 controls, via an interrupt circuit 38 and a switching path 39, a control display 40 intermittently to, in addition to the display reset of the Time display device 18 to signal that currently a reception attempt to update the Time information 16 is undertaken.
  • the switch-on signal 25 disappears, also the intermittent control of the control display 40 canceled, and this (for example a digital liquid crystal display) preferably completely switched off.
  • the control display 40 switched on again - and now not intermittently, but continuously - if one of the register switch-on pulse 28 acted cycle counter 41 increments from its zero position because at least the first via the switch-on signal 25 automatic triggered reception attempt does not turn into a decodable Received information 15 led.
  • the now statically presented number on the control display 40 in the example shown shows how many (Hourly) cycles have already passed since that last time the time information 16 for the time display device 18 by receiving information 15 could be confirmed or corrected.
  • the user of the radio clock 11 can now, in order not the next cycle until it appears again Waiting for switch-on signal 25 via the receiver switch 33 another Trigger reception delay as described above.
  • the cycle counter 41 is again in its initial count position reset and thus the control display 40 switched off via the switching path 39, as soon as an attempt to receive was successful, so too decoded time information 16 and output of the confirmation signal 23.
