Definitions
- the invention relates to a contact element which has a pin-shaped section which is designed for insertion into a bore in a circuit carrier plate and in which two struts running next to one another in the insertion direction and merging at the ends are provided and at least one web extending between the struts with a central is provided curvature or angled transverse to the longitudinal extension of the struts.
- Such a contact element is known from EP 00 89 491 B1.
- the web which extends between the two spaced-apart struts in this contact element, supports the resilient flexibility of the struts and thereby reduces the risk of excessive irreversible deformation of the struts when the contact element is inserted into a bore in a circuit carrier plate. This ensures a permanent tight fit of the struts resiliently lying against the bore wall in the bore.
- the object of the present invention is to design a contact element of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the symmetrical acceptance of the forces exerted on the struts by the bore wall is further improved by the web connecting the struts.
- this object is achieved in that at least two webs follow one another in the direction of travel of the struts and in that the central curvatures or bends of successive webs are directed alternately in opposite directions to one another.
- the wall thickness of the webs is reduced towards the central curvature or angle.
- gussets are provided in the region of the transition zones of the struts at the ends, as a result of which the transition zones are particularly elastic, or that gusset-shaped webs are provided in the region of the transition zones of the struts at the ends, the mean curvature or angle of which is increasingly increased toward an adjacent web , resulting in a particularly resistant press-in zone.
- the struts are provided on the outside with a rounding which is adapted to the curvature of the bore, as a result of which a particularly good fit of the struts in the bore of the circuit carrier plate can be achieved.
- adjacent webs are connected by means of intermediate walls which are thin against the wall thickness of the webs and are essentially directed transversely to the direction of the struts.
- the webs additionally support each other via the partition walls.
- Section 1 forms an elastic press-in zone with which the contact element can be anchored solder-free in the bore of a circuit board.
- the webs 3 are angled or curved transversely to the direction of the struts 2, and in the case of webs which follow one another in the direction of the struts 2, the direction of the curvature or bending of the webs is provided opposite to one another.
- intermediate walls 6 with a wall thickness that is substantially smaller than that of the webs 3 are advantageously left between adjacent webs 3, essentially transversely to a longitudinal axis 5 of the press-in zone. Adjacent webs 3 hang over them Partitions 6 together. The stability of the webs 3 is increased.
- the wall thickness of the webs 3, which is substantially less than the wall thickness of the bar-shaped struts 2, can be reduced towards the center of the webs 3, as a result of which a progressively increasing support effect of the webs 3 with respect to the struts 2 is achieved becomes.
- the struts 2 merge into each other at both ends and thereby form gusset 7 between them.
- the merging struts 2 form on one side of the press-in zone of the contact element, for example, a pin which on one side of the circuit carrier plate, not shown, from the bore in which the contact element with the Press-in zone sits, protrudes and can be used as a base for connecting conductors or as a contact pin or contact knife for attaching a contact spring.
- the merging struts form 2 shoulders 8, which limit the insertion depth of the press-in zone in a hole in the circuit board.
- gusset-shaped webs 9 can also be provided, the angle or curvature of which, starting from the side facing a neighboring web, continuously decreases towards the point of union of the two struts 2.
- the wall thickness of these gusset-shaped webs 9 can also decrease from the thickness of the struts 2 to an adjacent web 3 towards the wall thickness of the adjacent web 3 (FIG. 4).
- the outer sides 11 of the struts 2 facing away from one another are designed such that these outer sides 11 interact conically, the acute angle enclosed by the outer sides 11 in the direction of insertion of the Contact element in the bore of a circuit board targets. This makes it easier to press the press-in zone 1 into the bore.

Abstract
Description
- FIG 1 eine Vorderansicht der Einpreßzone eines Kontaktelementes,
