Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for conveying flat products, in particular printed products, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • DE-B-1561738 discloses a device for forming a scale formation from printing products fed one after the other. This device has two belt conveyors connected one behind the other, the initial region of the second belt conveyor connected downstream being lower than the conveying plane of the first conveyor.
  • Support tongues are arranged between the conveyor belts of the first conveyor and protrude in the area between the two belt conveyors. Between the free end of these tongues and the beginning of the second conveyor there is a nozzle arrangement with blowing nozzles pointing upwards and a suction box, as well as a deflection device arranged above these, in order to deflect the air flow generated by the nozzles downwards. This ensures that the leading area of the printed product fed by means of the first belt conveyor is pushed without interference over the trailing edge of the printed product already slowed down by the second belt conveyor.
  • the support device has at least one narrow support element which is arranged stationary in the area between the two conveyor arrangements and extends in the conveying direction of the conveyor arrangement.
  • any gaps between the end or beginning of the conveyor arrangements and the support device are avoided.
  • the conveyor arrangements are belt conveyors. If these have a plurality of conveyor belts which are parallel to one another and laterally spaced apart, at least one support element is provided which is fixed at fastening points between two conveyor belts in each case. A particularly good support is achieved in that several support elements are provided over the entire width of the belt conveyors, each of which is fastened between two conveyor belts.
  • Two support elements can also be provided, which are fastened at fastening points laterally outside the conveyor belts.
  • Such a form of training is also suitable for belt conveyors that only have a single conveyor belt exhibit.
  • the conveying dreams of the belt conveyors are supported by plate elements, the fastening points for the support elements being provided on the plate elements. This enables an extremely simple construction.
  • the device according to the invention is suitable for conveying printed products such as newspapers, magazines and the like which occur in a scale formation, in which the edge of the printed products leading in the conveying direction is preferably covered by the leading printed product.
  • a scale formation the leading edge of the printed products lying below is now safely guided onto the conveyor-effective strand of the downstream conveyor arrangement.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 show the transition region 8 of two belt conveyors 10, 12 connected in series, each with a plurality of parallel conveyor belts 14 which are laterally spaced apart and driven in the direction of conveyance F.
  • the conveyor belts 14 are guided at the end or beginning of the belt conveyors 10, 12 around rollers 16 which sit on shafts 18.
  • the shafts 18 are rotatably supported on schematically illustrated bearings 20, which in turn are attached to side bearing plates 22 of the belt conveyors 10, 12.
  • the conveying effective dreams of the conveyor belts 14 slide over support plates 24, which are also fixed to the end plates 22.
  • low-friction string-shaped support elements 26, z For example, plastic or steel strings fastened, which bridge the area between the two belt conveyors 10, 12 at the level of the conveying strands 14 of the conveyor belts.
  • the folded printed products 28 transported by the belt conveyors 10, 12 in the conveying direction F are arranged in a scale formation S, in which the respectively leading printed product 28 rests the subsequent one; the leading edges 30 of the printed products 28 are thus below.
  • the leading edge 30 is in each case the open side edge opposite the fold 32 of the printed products 28.
  • each leading edge 30 rests on the effective conveyor strand 14 of the conveyor belts 14 and in the area between the two belt conveyors 10, 12, the leading edges 30 are supported by the support elements 26.
  • the supporting elements 26 thus prevent the open side edge of the printed products 28 opposite the fold 32 from fanning out and guide the leading edges 30 onto the conveying strands of the conveyor belts 14 of the second belt conveyor 12.
  • the printed products 28 are also detached from the first belt conveyor 10 in a defined manner and can be in the area do not sag freely between the two belt conveyors 10, 12, thus detach themselves from the scale formation S and fall downward.
  • FIG. 3 shows different types of fastening of the support elements 26, only one end of the support elements 26 being shown in FIGS. 3 a-d.
  • the end region of the support element 26 is passed between two pins 34 spaced approximately from one another by the diameter of the support element 26 and is held in place by means of a thickening 36 provided at the end of the support element 26, for example a seal.
  • the support plate 24 (see FIGS. 1 and 2) has a bore 38 through which the end region of the support element 26 is guided is.
  • the thickening of the support element 26 out of the bore 38 is also prevented by a thickening 36.
  • the end of the support element 26 is located in a transverse bore 44 through a tensioning shaft 46 running at right angles to the support element 26.
  • the end region of the support element 26 is wound around the tensioning shaft 46.
  • the support element 26 forms an endless loop, which encompasses two fastening bolts 48, which are provided in the end or start area of the two belt conveyors 10, 12.
  • support elements 26 can also be provided, which are arranged laterally outside the conveyor belts 14 of the belt conveyors 10, 12. These can also be fastened, for example, to the support plates 24 in the area between the outermost conveyor belts 14 and the end shields 22.
  • Such an arrangement of the support elements 26 is also suitable for belt conveyors 10, 12 with only one conveyor belt each, these conveyor belts being narrower than the flat products to be transported.
  • the thread, wire, cord or strand-shaped support elements 26 can be designed differently or identically at their two ends.
  • a thickening 36 may be provided at one end in order to hold the support element 26 at this end according to FIG. 3 a or b, and the other end may be clamped according to FIG. 3 c or fixed according to FIG. 3 d. This enables problem-free tensioning of the support elements 26.
  • these support elements 26 are also particularly suitable for conveyor arrangements with cam conveyors.
  • the support elements can also be formed by vertical, narrow webs which run from one conveyor arrangement to the other. These can be attached to the conveyor arrangements at both ends; but it is also conceivable to fix the webs only on one side to the one conveyor arrangement.
  • these webs also engage in the conveyor sections of the conveyor arrangements in order to avoid gaps between them and the webs.
