Definitions

  • the invention relates to a contacting terminal for connecting wires of electrical devices according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • clamp according to DE-B 12 40 573 is to be mentioned here, which consists of several individual parts, which also need their own housing for their connection, so that not only the production of the clamp, but also its assembly is complex.
  • the clamp according to European laid-open specification EP-A-0 246 199 is in principle of simple construction, but the wires to be connected can only be inserted on opposite sides, apart from the fact that a separate additional part is necessary for subsequently removing the wires from the clamp, which forms part of the housing, for the manufacture of which complicated injection molds have to be used.
  • the connection options for the wires are concerned, the last-mentioned known construction must also be compared with the one described in German Offenlegungsschrift 1 285 589, although here this clamp itself is constructed in a very complex manner, since a part has to be punched out of the basic body here, with others punched parts of the base body must be positively connected. This requires complex tools.
  • the clamp according to US-A-4 221 456 belongs to another genus.
  • the bare wire ends lie between flat metal strips, so that this clamp offers no security that a tensile load of the wires they cannot be pulled out of the clamp.
  • the object and aim of the invention is to provide such a clamp, which can only be produced by simple punching and bending operations and which is therefore simple and inexpensive to manufacture and which does not require any additional structural measures to the wires of an electrical device or to connect a supply line by contact.
  • the circumferential length of the blank should be kept as small as possible, without thereby impairing the functionality of the clamp to be manufactured, in order to save energy which has to be used for punching out.
  • the bending lines themselves should also be kept short for this very reason.
  • the cost of materials should also be kept low and the number of bending operations itself should be low in order to be able to adhere to tight tolerances in the manufacture of the clamp.
  • Fig. 5 The blank punched out of sheet-metal, electrically conductive material, from which the clamp 1-4 is made by bending operations, is shown in Fig. 5 shown in plan view.
  • This blank has an essentially rectangular base plate 1. On opposite sides of this base plate 1 are edges 2, 3 of the height H, which are preferred to the depth T of the base plate 1 on one side, one side.
  • Three tabs 4, 5 and 6 are also punched out of the plane of the base plate 1, the boundary edge 7 of the middle tab 4 being stepped.
  • the height H of the middle flap 4 corresponds approximately to the height H of the side edges 2, 3, which have an obliquely sloping boundary edge 8 in their rear end section, the remaining height h 'of this end section being equal to or slightly greater than the height h '' of the edge 9 provided on the rear side.
  • a web 11 At the end edge 10 of the base plate 1 there is a web 11 in the central region thereof which merges into a connecting lug 12 of rectangular shape with a central recess 17.
  • This rectangular connecting lug 12 is in the blank (FIG 5) flanked by the sections 15 of the edges 2 and 3 projecting from the depth T of the base plate 1. 5, the clamp is spread out in the plane, the bending lines 13, 14 and 16 and 18 being represented by dashed lines.
  • This blank which has been punched out of metallic sheet metal and is illustrated in FIG. 5, is now deformed by bending operations, the sequence of the bending operations listed below not being essential to the invention.
  • the freely projecting sections 15 of the edges 2 and 3 are dented in a groove-like manner along the bending lines 13.
  • the edges 2, 3 and 9 are bent upwards from the plane of the drawing, so that these bent edges enclose a substantially right angle with the base plate 1.
  • the sections 15 of the edges 2 and 3 which project from the base plate 1 are additionally bent against each other to such an extent that their free ends lie in the central region of the base plate 1.
  • the middle tab 4 and the tabs 5 and 6 lying to the side thereof are also bent upward about the bending lines 16 and then they also form an essentially right angle with the plane of the base plate 1.
  • the middle plate 4 is deformed in a wave-like manner along the bending lines 18.
  • the connecting lug 12 is bent into an upwardly open, cross-sectionally V-shaped groove, the axis of this V-shaped groove being substantially parallel to the Bending lines 14 of the lateral edges 2 and 3 runs.
  • the clamp thus produced by bending operations from the punched blank shown in FIG. 5 is shown in different views in FIGS. 1 to 4.
  • the edges 2 and 3 of the substantially rectangular base plate 1, which are provided on opposite sides of this base plate 1 and project on one side with respect to their depth T, are raised by approximately 90 ° with respect to the plane of the base plate 1 lying in the plane of the drawing and between
  • the free ends of the sections 15 lie on the middle tab 4 and with this form an acute angle with respect to the front edge 10.
  • the tab 4 is deformed in a wave-like manner over part of its lengths, and the free ends of the tabs 15 preferably bear against the projections formed by the wave-like deformation (FIG. 1) under low pressure.
  • Fig. 1 also shows that the tabs 5 and 6 are in those portions of the base plate 1, which are limited by the laterally bent edges 2 and 3, by the opposing section 15 and the central tab 4. They are also somewhat removed from the sections 15, so that these sections can swivel out when a wire to be connected is inserted, but the swivel angle is limited by these tabs.
  • FIG. 8 shows, in an oblique view, a housing 19 serving as a clamp holder, as it is made, for example, of plastic and is provided for holding the winding head in a choke coil or a small transformer.
  • this housing 19 which is arranged in a suitable manner on an electrical device of the type mentioned, box-like pockets 20 which are open on one side are recessed into which the clamp according to FIGS. 1 to 4, as can be seen from the representation according to FIG. 8, is inserted.
  • the oblique boundary edge 8 of the edges 2 and 3 facilitates this insertion and the clamp inserted into the pocket 20 is locked by the wedge-shaped nose of the middle tab 4 projecting from the upper edge 21 of the edges 2, 3. This locking nose is formed by the wedge-shaped edge Boundary edge 7 of this tab 4.
  • the wire end, not shown, coming from the winding of the electrical device is fastened to the connecting lug 12.
  • the connecting wire is inserted between the middle tab 4 and one of the sections 5, this section 15 being pivoted against the tab 5 or 6, which however limits the pivoting angle or pivoting path of this tab, so that the tab or the material, that forms the tab, is not overused and thus loses its elasticity. If the wire end is pushed in, it lies on the one hand against the central axis 4 and is pressed against it by the resilient section 15 and fixed in its position. As a rule, 4 wire ends will be inserted and held on both sides of the tab. 6, which will be explained in detail below, indicates such a wire end with a dash-dot-dot line, and also the position of the pivoted-out section 15.
  • FIG. 6 shows another embodiment, which differs from the first discussed essentially only in that instead of the terminal lug 12 other connection options are provided here.
  • the blank punched out of sheet metal, which forms the basis of the clamp according to FIG. 6, is shown in FIG. 7.
  • the front edge of the base plate 1 is divided by an approximately central, T-shaped incision 23 into two tabs 22 which are bent upward by approximately 90 ° with respect to the base plate 1, the portions of these tabs 22 which are initially adjacent to one another additionally being bent, so that these tabs have an approximately V-shaped course at right angles to the base plate 1 (FIG. 6).
  • the bare wire end coming from the winding of the device to be connected is wound around such a tab 22 and then the two legs which form this V-shape are pressed together.
  • the base plate 1 will be approx. 13 mm long and approx. 7 mm deep.
  • the height H of the edges 2, 3 will be approximately 3 mm.
  • the clamp according to the invention is obtained exclusively by punching and bending operations, that no special tools are required for its assembly in a housing 19 serving as a clamp holder, and that no special tools are required to connect the wires to be connected here and expensive tools must be used.
  • a mass article such as is formed by such a clamp, these are very important and considerable advantages.
  • the manufacture of the terminal, its assembly and also the connection can largely be automated with simple means.
