Definitions

  • the invention relates to a brush suction nozzle for a suction cleaning device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • suction tools For cleaning preferably textile floor coverings, suction tools, so-called suction nozzles, are used in connection with a suction cleaning device, which are provided with a rotating, preferably height-adjustable, roller-shaped brush to support the cleaning action.
  • This rotating roller-shaped brush is mounted in the housing of the suction nozzle in such a way that the bristle of the brush roller extends through the inflow opening for the suction air flow, which is arranged closely above the floor surface to be cleaned, and thus penetrates into the upper area of the textile floor covering and brushes through it.
  • the rotating brush roller is usually used to adapt the cleaning effect to the degree of soiling and the type of construction of the surface to be cleaned adjustable in height.
  • the power supply line for the electric drive unit driving the brush roller is connected to an electrical plug-in connection, which is attached specifically to the connection of additional devices to the vacuum cleaning device.
  • the use of air-driven drive units for driving the rotating brush roller has the advantage of cheap manufacture, since the air turbine used for the drive can be manufactured very inexpensively with a possible intermediate gear from a plastic material using the injection molding process.
  • the electrical power supply line is often held by means of clips on the suction line which connects the suction nozzle to the suction cleaning device, which is not very attractive from an optical point of view.
  • Suction lines with integrated mains connection lines are also used. However, these are very complex and expensive.
  • the brush rollers driven by an air-driven drive unit have the disadvantage that the drive power emitted by the air-driven unit is only sufficient for relatively narrow suction nozzles.
  • the torque available is not sufficient to guide the bristle of the brush roller sufficiently deep through the carpet pile.
  • the reduction in the suction air flow due to the clogging of the filter with increasing dust absorption and the throttling of the inflow opening when it lies too tightly on the carpet surface to be cleaned also have a negative effect on the drive power.
  • the use of an electric motor-driven drive unit for driving the brush roller eliminates these disadvantages, but is considerably more complex and therefore more expensive, but is essential for intensive cleaning, particularly with wide working tracks.
  • the object on which the invention is based is to create a suction nozzle with a rotating brush roller which can be easily operated both with an air-driven drive unit and with an electric motor-driven drive unit and can be converted from one drive unit to the other drive unit in a few simple steps.
  • the interior of the suction nozzle is provided with a sufficiently large free space, which is dimensioned so that both the air-driven drive unit with its air duct and, in exchange, the electromotive drive unit with the additional electrical parts can be installed.
  • the free space accessible from the outside of the nozzle and accommodating one of these drive units is closed by a cover which is repeatedly attached to the nozzle housing in a manner that is easily detachable, for example with screws.
  • On the side of this cover facing the interior of the suction nozzle is either the air-driven drive unit or the electric motor-driven drive unit is installed.
  • the output shaft of the two alternative drive units which drives the brush roller comes to rest in the case of retrofitting such that the belt drive leading to the brush roller is used for the output shafts of both drive units.
  • This optional use of an air-driven or an electric motor-driven drive unit for a suction nozzle equipped with a rotating brush roller for a vacuum cleaning device has the advantage that the manufacturer of these brush suction nozzles can react quickly without delay in delivery, in accordance with the customer's request, without delay in delivery.
  • the consumer who experience has shown that he tends to be more economical at a later date, has the option of retrofitting the brush suction nozzle already purchased with just a few simple steps.
  • the back of the brush suction nozzle 1 is provided with an articulated connection piece 2 to which a suction line (not shown) which leads to the suction cleaning device (also not shown) can be connected for the ventilation connection.
  • the brush suction nozzle 1 is moved during the cleaning process with the suction opening arranged on its underside, which comes to lie closely above the floor surface to be cleaned, over the surface to be cleaned, the nozzle being mounted on the rear driving rollers 3 and the front support rollers in a slightly movable manner.
  • a usually height-adjustable brush roller 6 is rotatably mounted in the bearings 7 within the nozzle housing 5, the bristle 8 of which protrudes through the suction opening on the underside of the nozzle and penetrates into the pile of the textile floor covering to be cleaned and brushes it slides through.
  • the brush roller 6 is driven by, for example, an air-driven drive unit 11 via the belt drive 12 with the interposition of a reduction gear 13.
  • a reduction gear 13 is installed between the air turbine 15 and the driven pulley 17.
  • the air turbine 15 is mounted with the reduction gear 13 on a cover plate 20 which lies precisely in the upper wall 21 of the housing of the brush suction nozzle 1 and is easily detachably held by the screws 22.
  • the air turbine 15 with the intermediate gear 13 protrudes into the free space 23 of the nozzle housing and is arranged in such a way that the driven pulley fixed on the shaft 24 of the reduction gear 13 17 is operatively connected to the belt drive 12.
  • the interior of the turbine housing 16 is connected in terms of ventilation by flow paths to the suction opening of the suction nozzle 1 and to the connecting piece 2.
  • a brush suction nozzle with an electromotive driven brush roller 6 is usually preferred for this purpose.
  • an electric motor-driven drive unit 26 is provided and designed so that it is also mounted on a cover plate 20 to enable replacement with the air-driven drive unit 11.
  • the driven pulley 17 mounted on the shaft 27 of the electric motor 28 is aligned precisely with the belt drive 12, so that the electromotive drive unit 26 can be exchanged with the air-driven drive unit 11 in a few simple steps, only by unscrewing the screws 22, by loosening the screws 22.
  • the electric motor-driven drive unit 26 is separably connected to the suction cleaning device via a plug-in coupling, the power cord 29 being attached to the suction line in a freely hanging manner by retaining clips, and also being designed as a power cord integrated into the suction line, which, however, is very expensive and is expensive in relation to the free-hanging power cord, which, however, often interferes with work and is not particularly appealing visually.
  • the design of the electric motor-driven unit is made in connection with its storage on the cover plate 20 so that at the same time with its replacement / use, corresponding air passage openings, for example in the inner wall openings of the nozzle housing, are covered for the operation of the air-driven unit or are carried out directly to the suction area .
