Definitions
- the invention relates to an ultrasound head according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the ultrasound head can also be e.g. be designed for combined ultrasound and stimulation current therapy.
- the ultrasonic oscillator here consists of an oscillator carrier on which an ultrasound transducer (ceramic disk) is arranged, the oscillator carrier being held by a membrane on a second carrier which can be screwed into an opening in a housing of the ultrasound head.
- the object of the present invention is to ensure in ultrasound heads of this type that the ultrasound transducer can be replaced more quickly, easily and in a material-saving manner in the event of a fault.
- the invention enables an ultrasonic transducer of an ultrasonic head to be replaced immediately and in a material-saving manner (transducer carrier with ultrasonic transducer alone) if required.
- the figure shows an embodiment of the ultrasound head, which comprises the invention.
- the ultrasound head 1 with ultrasound transducer 2 contains a proximal housing part 3 (e.g. made of plastic) and an at least partially slidable distal housing part 4 (e.g. also made of plastic).
- proximal housing part 3 e.g. made of plastic
- distal housing part 4 e.g. also made of plastic
- the proximal housing part 3 has an application-side opening 5, in which the ultrasonic oscillator 2 consisting of oscillating support 6 (e.g. aluminum) and a ceramic oscillating disc 7 glued thereon is inserted from the inside.
- the vibrating support 6 sits with its outwardly cranked edge 8 via a sealing ring 9 on an inner shoulder 10 of the proximal housing part 3.
- a pressing mechanism consisting of a thin perforated metal disk 11 (for example steel) and a thick perforated metal disk, is used to press the vibrating support 6 12 (e.g. steel), a locking ring 13 and e.g. a total of three (metallic) clamping screws 14, each of which is arranged in an associated threaded hole 15 of the thick perforated metal disk 12 so as to be adjustable perpendicularly thereto.
- the sealing ring 9 When assembling, the sealing ring 9 is first placed on the inner shoulder 10 of the proximal housing part 3 in the interior of the proximal housing part 3. Subsequently, the ultrasonic oscillator 2 (oscillator carrier 6 together with the ceramic oscillating disk 7) is inserted into the opening 5 on the application side in the manner already described. Then the thin perforated metal disk 11 and the thick perforated metal disk 12 are inserted and the locking ring 13 is inserted into the annular groove 16 along the inner wall of the proximal housing part 3.
- Each clamping screw 14 has a slot 17 for a screwdriver. By turning with a screwdriver, the respective clamping screw 17 now moves in the direction of arrow 18.
- the distal housing part 4 comprises a printed circuit board 19 on which the essential electrical components of the electrical circuit of the ultrasound head 1 are located.
- the printed circuit board 19 runs along two inner longitudinal grooves 20, 21 of the proximal housing part 3.
- the components 22, 23 are spring contact pins for contacting the ultrasonic oscillator 2. They are soldered on the one hand to the circuit board 19 and are there in electrical contact with the electrical conductor tracks 24, 25 for the voltage supply. On the other hand, they are in contact via spring-loaded contact feet 26, 27 on the one hand with the surface of the ceramic oscillating disk 7 and, on the other hand, via the thick perforated metal disk 12, the clamping screws 14 and the thin perforated metal disk 11 with the oscillator carrier 6.
- the cable connection of the distal housing part 4 is indicated by the reference number 28.
- the reference numbers 29, 30 denote inclined surfaces of the housing part 4 in the region of the opening 5 and the part of the vibrating support 6 protruding from the opening 5, which are bevelled to match one another and smoothly merge into one another. Contact gel applied to the application surface can thus be smoothly stripped again after the ultrasound head has been used.
- 31 in the oscillator carrier 6 denotes a circumferential thin groove for receiving adhesive overflowing (indicated by 32) when the ceramic oscillating disk 7 is adhered to the oscillator carrier 6. Undesired cross-coupling when the ceramic vibrating disk 7 is vibrated is thereby avoided.
- the defective ultrasonic oscillator 2 (oscillator carrier 6 together with the ceramic oscillating disk 7) is dismantled in the opposite manner to that described above for assembly and can therefore be easily replaced by a new intact ultrasonic oscillator 2.

Abstract
