- the printing form or the printing form cylinder can be formed in various ways. Instead of the layers with different properties, the entire printing form cylinder can be produced homogeneously from a material which has both properties, namely the thermal insulation and the hydrophilic character. However, only the printing form cylinder surface can also be coated with such a material. It is important in any case that the surface of the printing form or the printing form cylinder is water-accepting and that the over heat introduced into the printhead is preferably not dissipated. In this way it is ensured that the heat layer is transferred to the printing form surface with certainty with the appropriate metered introduction of heat and is also precisely delimited.
