Definitions

  • the invention relates to a grinding or polishing plate with a rigid clamping shaft, which is connected via an elastic coupling to a platter, the deflection of which can be adjusted by a sleeve which is axially adjustable from the clamping side.
  • the coupling consists of a spherical joint part attached to the lower end of the clamping shaft, which is deflectably received on all sides by a bearing receptacle provided on the turntable, the joint part having protruding, radial projections engaging in enlarged recesses of the bearing receptacle are provided to ensure rotary driving.
  • a sleeve On the clamping shaft, a sleeve is slidably arranged in the form of a cylindrical sleeve graduated in diameter, which can be inserted against the force of a return spring until it engages positively into the upper, cylindrical opening of a rear casing fastened to the platter and in this position by a bayonet-type closure can be locked.
  • the sleeve engages Turntable rigidly fixed to the clamping shaft so that, for example, edge grinding can be carried out with the grinding plate.
  • the platter When the sleeve is uncoupled, the platter can be deflected on all sides, which is desirable, for example, when grinding.
  • the known grinding plate has only a limited deflectability and can only be set in the two extreme positions "rigid” and “flexible”.
  • this ball joint-like coupling is complex to manufacture.
  • the clamping shaft consists of a flexible shaft which directly carries a platter at its lower end, which can be deflected on all sides by bending the shaft.
  • the turntable can be set rigidly by sliding a sleeve over the flexible clamping shaft and attaching it to a rear threaded pin of the turntable.
  • the sleeve is clamped directly into the drill chuck of a drive machine at the other end and then constitutes a rigid clamping shaft.
  • Such flexible shafts are very likely to break, at least if greater flexibility of the flexible shaft is provided.
  • the use of a sleeve that is only required if necessary is cumbersome to handle, apart from the risk that the sleeve will be lost.
  • a grinding plate which corresponds to the preamble of claim 1 and in which an intermediate section of the clamping shaft directly supporting the platter is designed as a flexible shaft piece, to which shaft sections adjoining on both sides are connected External threads are provided.
  • a union nut is guided on one of the threaded sections and can also be pre-turned into the second threaded section of the clamping shaft in order to bridge the flexible shaft piece until it engages.
  • the flexible shaft piece represents a very fragile component.
  • a flexible grinding plate is also known, in which the platter carries a rigid, rear sleeve which surrounds the clamping shaft and in which an elastic coupling in the form of an elastomer buffer vulcanized on the one hand on the clamping shaft and on the other hand is provided.
  • an elastomeric buffer is, however, at least to a great extent at risk of breakage, if a greater deflectability is provided. There is no provision for bridging the elastomer buffer and thus for setting the platter rigid.
  • a flexible grinding plate is also known, in which the elastic coupling consists of an elastomeric buffer vulcanized on the one hand to the clamping shaft and on the other hand to the rear projections of the platter.
  • the elastomer buffer is bordered on its peripheral surface by a rigid cap which stiffens the buffer as an outer bandage.
  • caps of different heights assigned to the sanding plate which are used depending on the desired degree of stiffening.
  • the vulcanized buffer there is also extremely susceptible to wear or breakage, and the use of interchangeable bandage sleeves leads to cumbersome handling.
  • a flexible grinding plate in which an elastomer buffer is vulcanized on the one hand on an end flange of the clamping shaft and on the other hand to the back of the platter. If necessary, a cap enclosing the buffer is used to fix the plate there, which has a thread at its lower end with which it is screwed onto a rear threaded attachment of the turntable.
  • the vulcanized buffer is again an expensive component and the handling of the stiffening cap, which can only be used when necessary, is cumbersome.
  • a grinding plate in which the platter has a rigidly attached, rearwardly projecting sleeve which surrounds the clamping shaft.
  • a cylindrical elastomer buffer vulcanized onto the clamping shaft on the one hand and on the other to the sleeve is provided as the elastic coupling.
  • a nut guided on a threaded section of the clamping shaft is provided as a bridging member for the elastic coupling and is tightened against the rear end of the sleeve.
  • the jacket of the elastomer buffer is constantly compressed between the clamping shaft and sleeve during a deflection, which is why a highly stressable and correspondingly expensive elastomer buffer is required there.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a very flexible deflection of the turntable in a generic grinding or polishing plate, which can be adjusted over a wide angular range, the grinding or polishing plate, and its elastic coupling, in particular, is to be distinguished by a wear-resistant construction made of simple individual parts that are only to be screwed together during assembly.
  • the coupling consists of an articulated disc, the outer edge area of which is clamped between a raised annular bulge of the turntable and a hood-shaped flange with a conical coupling surface, which is assigned a corresponding mating coupling surface which is connected to the sleeve stands.
  • a number of advantages are achieved by the invention.
  • a relatively large flexible disc as an elastic coupling
  • a very high degree of flexibility for the deflection of the turntable is achieved, the flexible disc being essentially only subjected to bending during the deflection, so that the risk of material fatigue is largely prevented.
  • the deflection angle of the turntable can now be adjusted to a large extent depending on how far the conical or conical coupling surfaces are brought together. When the coupling surfaces are in full contact, the elastic coupling is rigidly bridged.
  • Another advantage is that the grinding or polishing plate is made up of simple, only screwed together individual parts, so that it can be manufactured inexpensively.
  • the flexible disc can consist of spring steel, rubber or plastic.
  • Pressible rubber or plastic disc has the particular advantage that even when the clutch is bridged there is little residual flexibility for the turntable, which also improves smoothness when grinding edges.
  • the joint disc can be reduced to a cross shape, which can consist of two intersecting band pieces made of spring steel or plastic.
  • an articulated disc 2 in the form of a flat rubber or plastic disc 3 is clamped by means of a cap screw 4.
  • the disc 3 is held between two disc springs 5, 5, the diameter of which is decisive for the clamping of the disc, i. H. the diameter of the contact area of the disc springs on the rubber washer is about one third of the washer diameter.
  • the outer edge region of the disk 3 is clamped between a raised annular bead 6 of a turntable 7 and the foot 8 of a hood-shaped flange 9 by means of four screws, not shown, distributed over the circumference.
  • the diameter of the disk 3 is approximately equal to half the diameter of the turntable 7.
  • the flange 9 is drawn in at the top in a roof shape and has a conical opening 10 which surrounds the clamping shaft 1 with considerable play, so that the turntable 7 while bending the disk 3 is pivotable on all sides with respect to the axis of the clamping shaft 1.
  • a sleeve 12 is slidably guided, the lower end of which is designed as a cone 13, the inclination of which Taper of the opening 10 is adapted so that the conical coupling surface 15 of the flange 9 is assigned a corresponding mating coupling surface 14 on the sleeve 12.
  • the cone 13 lies axially above the conical opening 10, so that the turntable can be deflected to a maximum of the flange 9 against the shaft 1. If the cone 13 is partially screwed into the opening 10, the deflectability of the turntable 7 is limited to a smaller angle, the adjustment of the deflectability being able to be varied continuously.
  • the flange 9 is rigidly fixed on the clamping shaft 1, so that the disk 3 can no longer be bent out.
  • the turntable 7 can then be deflected to a small extent, given by the axial compressibility of the disk 3 in its outer clamping area.
  • the screw 4 rests with its hemispherical head 16 as a pivot bearing on the central region of the turntable 7 and thus improves the smooth running of the turntable.
  • the turntable 7 carries a rubber pad 17 and an adhesive plate 18 for a grinding or polishing sheet.
  • the flange 9 carries a downwardly projecting bush 9a which surrounds the shaft with play and which forms a stop for the maximum application of the joint disk 2 when the sleeve 12 is tightened.
  • the joint disk 2 consists of a spring steel disk 19, which is in the same way as in the embodiment 1 and 2 is clamped in the central area on the clamping shaft 1 and is clamped in the edge area between the platter 7 and the hood-shaped flange 20 with the interposition of elastic disks 44 by means of the screws 45.
  • a sleeve 21 is slidably and rotatably mounted, which is associated with a bayonet-type locking device.
  • the sleeve 21 is supported by a compression spring 22 at the rear end of the flange 20 having a stop bush 20a and bears on the back against a cross pin 23 passing through the clamping shaft 1.
  • the sleeve 21 On its rear side, the sleeve 21 has a plurality of detent seats 24, 25, 26 distributed over the circumference in the form of diametrically different slots of different depths for the optional reception of the cross pin 23, cf. 4 and 5.
  • the detent seat 24 serves to lock the sleeve 21 in the fully uncoupled position according to FIG.
  • the detent seat 25 to secure an intermediate position and the detent seat 26 to lock the sleeve in its deepest engagement position.
  • the adjustment is effected in each case by depressing the sleeve 21 against the force of the compression spring 22 and subsequent rotation, with ramp ramps 27, 28, 29 for the transverse pin 23 being provided between the rest seats 24, 25, 26, each increasing towards the rest seats of lesser depth.
  • the spring 22 can also be omitted and a self-clamping seat of the z. B. made of plastic sleeve 21 are provided on the shaft.
  • the joint disk shown in FIG. 6, reduced to a cross shape 30, can also be used, which can be made in one piece or - as shown in FIG. 6 - from two intersecting band pieces 31, 32 made of spring steel or plastic.
  • the sleeve 33 shown in FIG. 7 can also be used, which is displaceable on the clamping shaft 1 and can be clamped on the clamping shaft 1 by means of a locking screw 34.
  • FIG. 8 shows a further embodiment of the sleeve 35, which here consists of a chuck arranged on the clamping shaft 46 with an associated clamping nut 36.
  • the clamping jaws 37 are directed towards the clamping end of the shaft.
  • the opposite end of the threaded shaft 38 of the chuck is designed as a cone with the mating coupling surface 14.
  • the clamping shaft 46 is provided with a hexagonal profile in the area of the sleeve 35.
  • the locking element consists of a sleeve 41 screwed into a rear threaded opening 39 of the flange 40, which is provided at its lower end with a conical coupling surface 42, which is assigned a corresponding mating coupling surface 43 on the clamping shaft 1.
