Definitions
- the invention relates to a rotatable shelf insert for corner cabinets with at least one overall substantially circular shelf, a guide rod that supports it and passes through in a hub located in the center of the circle, and a holding pin that penetrates the guide rod in the transverse direction and supports the shelf.
- Such inserts which are also referred to as carousel floor inserts, are used primarily to utilize the area of the inside corners of built-in kitchen cabinets. Since the space in the corners is only relatively difficult and accessible through a comparatively small opening, it has proven to be useful to use rotating shelves, so-called carousel floors, which allow pots or other kitchen utensils to be placed and, if necessary, turned by turning them to move the open side of the cabinet.
- the carousel floors usually have a right-angled or other cutout to accommodate a door.
- a vertical guide rod which is rotatably fastened between the lower and upper wall surface of the cabinet, carries at least one, but mostly two, essentially non-rotatably attached shelves.
- the invention has for its object to provide an insert of the generic type in which the shelves are held on the guide rod essentially without play.
- the hub receives the guide rod at a radial distance and that a cylindrical, at one end tapered by changing the wall thickness clamping sleeve is inserted between the guide rod and the inner wall of the hub.
- This solution has the advantage that the guide rod can initially be inserted extremely simply into the hub, while the play-free fixing on the hub takes place only by inserting the clamping sleeve which is clamped between the hub and the guide rod.
- the clamping sleeve is inserted into the hub from above.
- terms such as “above” and “below” refer to the installed position within a corner cabinet.
- a support sleeve is inserted into the hub from below, which on the one hand interacts with the conical taper of the clamping sleeve due to a conically enlarged inner diameter and on the other hand serves to support the shelf on a retaining pin.
- two mutually opposite recesses are provided on the underside of the support sleeve, which have upwardly sloping, opposite side walls, so that the holder pin is clamped between the side walls when the shelf is placed and a play-free connection is created.
- the opposite side walls can also have cams, behind which the retaining pin is locked.
- the adapter sleeve can preferably be screwed into the hub from above.
- it has, for example, at least one cam on the outer surface which enters a thread in the inner wall surface of the hub.
- the bores for receiving the retaining pin or pins in the guide rod are preferably not round, but instead have lateral edges converging at the bottom so that the retaining pin can also assume a play-free lower end position in these holes.
- the clamping sleeve is also flared outwards at its upper end, while the hub of the shelf has a corresponding conical widening at the upper end.
- the clamping sleeve is clamped both at its upper end and at its lower end with respect to the hub on the one hand and in relation to the support sleeve on the other hand, so that on the one hand it rests firmly against the guide rod and on the other hand lies within the hub without play.
- the clamping sleeve can have axially parallel slots in suitable positions.
- the hub Since the hub is closed from above and from below by the clamping sleeve on the one hand and the support sleeve on the other hand, the hub as such can be shorter in the axial direction be carried out. Since the lower support sleeve can be omitted during transport, the shelves can be pushed together in the hub area during transport, so that there is a lower stack height. This can otherwise essentially correspond to that of a peripheral, upstanding edge, so that the shelves can be stacked without tilting.
- the single figure shows a vertical partial section through a shelf according to the invention with part of a guide rod.
- a guide rod is 10 and a carousel floor or shelf 12.
- the guide rod 10 lies within a hub 14 of the shelf 12.
- the shelf consists of a support surface 16, which is pulled up in a U-shape on the outer edge 18 and is supported from the bottom by ribs 20.
- the hub 14 can, with some simplification, be referred to as a double-layer construction with an outer sleeve 22 and an inner sleeve 24.
- the outer sleeve 22 and the inner sleeve 24 are connected to one another in a ring at their upper ends.
- radial ribs 26, 28 are provided between the two sleeves, so that an overall stable hub construction is created.
- the inner sleeve 24 has at its upper end an unspecified, conical widening, which will be discussed again in the further course.
- a clamping sleeve 30 is inserted from above into the hub 14 and thus lies between the latter and the guide rod 10.
- the clamping sleeve 30 has a cylindrical tube section 32 which is tapered at its lower end by reducing the wall thickness.
- the tube section is flared by wedge-shaped ribs 34.
- the tube section is divided into individual segments by unmarked, axially parallel slots that facilitate radial deformation.
- the outer cone formed by the ribs 34 corresponds to the inner cone at the upper end of the inner sleeve 24.
- the cylindrical tube section 32 of the clamping sleeve 30 has at least one cam 36 shown on the left in the drawing. This cam can be inserted through a groove 38 in the region of the conical widening at the upper end of the inner sleeve 24 of the hub.
- the lower edge of the inner sleeve 24 is designed as a thread 40, over which the cam 36 slides with respect to the hub 14 when the clamping sleeve 30 rotates. In this way, the clamping sleeve 30 can be pulled into the hub by rotation.
- a corresponding bracing takes place at the lower end of the clamping sleeve with the aid of the conical tapering of the tube section 32 of the clamping sleeve already mentioned.
- a support sleeve 42 which has a cylindrical tube section 44 which is flared on its inner surface by reducing the wall thickness at the upper end. This expansion interacts with the taper at the lower end of the clamping sleeve 30, so that there is a corresponding radial bracing at the lower end of the clamping sleeve 30 or the hub 14.
- the support sleeve 42 is flared in the area of the lower end of the already mentioned tube section 44 at right angles to the outside and then upwards, then angled at right angles to the outside and then again guided axially parallel into the interior of the outer sleeve 22.
- the support sleeve 42 is locked in relation to the hub 14 both in the direction of rotation and in the axial direction, so that on the one hand it does not rotate or move with the clamping sleeve 30 and on the other hand fixes the entire shelf 12 in the direction of rotation on the guide rod 10, as will be explained in more detail later shall be.
- the support sleeve 42 has at least one cam 48 on the outside, which can snap into a window 50 of the outer sleeve 22 of the hub.
- the already mentioned, generally cylindrical outer area 52 of the support sleeve 42 which is preferably slotted in the axially parallel direction to form individual lamellae, has an elongated finger 54 which, in a predetermined angular position, does not have a corresponding one designated recess of one of the ribs 26 between the inner sleeve 24 and the outer sleeve 22 of the hub 14 occurs, as shown on the left side in the drawing.
- the support sleeve 42 takes over the support of the shelf 12 on the guide rod 10.
- the guide rod 10 is traversed by a retaining pin 56, which exits the guide rod at both ends in a manner not shown with part of its length.
- the corresponding bores 57 in the guide rod are, as shown in the drawing above, not circular, but instead have edges that converge obliquely downward, so that the retaining pin 56 is pressed into a play-free lower position when loaded.
- the opposite, exiting ends of the holding pin 56 lie in opposite recesses 58, which are formed in the tube section 44 of the support sleeve 42.
- cutouts 58 have side walls 60, 62 which converge obliquely upwards, so that the holding pin 56 is also pressed into a play-free upper end position with respect to the support sleeve 42 when loaded.
- Small cams 64, 66 on the lower edges of the opposite side walls 60, 62 serve to latch the retaining pin 56 in the pressed-in position, so that the support sleeve 42 and thus the entire shelf 12 even with upward forces, such as occur during transport can be set with respect to the guide rod 10.
- the clamping sleeve 30 has at its upper end an outwardly and then downwardly bent peripheral edge 68 which engages over the hub 14 from the outside and serves for further stabilization.
- the Invention appropriate shelf is stackable in a particularly favorable manner before assembly, that is, before the guide rod and the retaining pin are inserted.
- a further shelf, designated by 12 ' is shown in dash-dot lines. Since the upper clamping sleeve 30 and the lower support sleeve 42 are missing, the hubs of stacked shelves can interlock in the space-saving manner shown.
- the stack height in the hub area corresponds essentially to the height which results in the area of the outer edge 18, so that the shelves can be stacked without play.

Abstract
