Definitions
- the invention relates to a lid for drinking cups, consisting of a lid wall with the peripheral edge pointing downward and a lip support recess arranged in a half of the lid and adjoining the peripheral edge and with one in one, the middle of the lid wall and the trough center containing transverse plane outlet opening.
- DE-A-3 118 976 shows an improvement in that a mouthpiece with an outlet channel is provided on the lid, but cannot be completely closed by the upper lip, since it extends beyond the highest point of the mouth. A certain regulation of the liquid flow is possible. However, the lip contact area is small and the lips must be pressed together when drinking to prevent liquid from escaping from the corners of the mouth. The mouthpiece does not allow drinking with natural lip play. Mentally handicapped people used the mug contrary to instructions, so that they covered the mouthpiece with their lips and choked. It has also happened that patients try to bite off the mouthpiece.
- a drinking cup lid in which an upturned mouthpiece is provided, in front of which there is a recess, but which does not form a lip rest.
- a wall section that defines the recess contains a slot arrangement that forms a valve that is to be actuated by the lower lip and / or by the fingers of the drinker.
- the valve opening should be controlled by more or less strong pressure and thus the outflow can be changed in terms of quantity.
- the handling is not foolproof.
- the lid is therefore less suitable for use in hospitals.
- the object of the invention is to change the lid of the type mentioned in such a way that foolproof natural drinking with metering of the liquid flow is possible without liquid dripping from the corners of the mouth.
- a lid with the features of the type mentioned above in that the peripheral edge and the adjoining trough wall of the lip support trough are raised in this connection area and are highest in the transverse plane mentioned, that the peripheral edge from this highest point is symmetrical on both sides and merges continuously into the non-raised edge sections, that the surface of the lip support trough at least in the area of this highest point steadily extends up to the edge of the lid and that the outlet opening is designed as a slot running in this transverse plane, which begins and extends at a distance from the highest point of the lid edge extends towards the center of the trough.
- the outlet opening is located in the raised wall section of the lip support recess and does not reach the highest point of the lid edge, but ends in the contact area of the upper lip, it is possible to drink naturally.
- the upper lip automatically lies on the outlet opening and closes it, so that no liquid can flow in during the swallowing process.
- the drinker does not need to shift his lips.
- the low vacuum that occurs when swallowing is sufficient to place the lip sealingly on the outlet opening. If the outlet opening would extend to the highest point of the raised lid edge or even beyond, this effect would not be achievable.
- the lid enables the formation of a large trough corresponding to the lip contour, i.e. the arch of the jaw so that the upper lip rests on the trough surface over essentially its entire length up to the corners of the mouth. Even with clumsy behavior, liquid can no longer drip from the corners of your mouth.
- a drinking cup lid 10 consists of a one-piece plastic molded part with a lid wall 12 and a stepped peripheral edge 14, the lower paragraph of which is used for insertion into the cup.
- the cover 10 has an elliptical contour.
- the top wall 12 has a recessed lip support recess 16, which also has an elliptical contour. In the transverse axis direction, the lip support recess 16 is offset from the center of the cover to the edge.
- the plane designated 2-2 in FIG. 1, which contains the center of the top wall and the center of the trough and is perpendicular to the peripheral edge 14, is referred to below as the transverse plane.
- the edge 18 of the lip support recess 16 adjoins the edge 20 of the cover wall 12 and the cover edge 20 is raised in this connection area.
- the raised lid edge area is designated 22.
- the highest point 24 of the raised lid edge area ches 22 lies in the transverse plane. From this highest point 24, the raised lid edge runs symmetrically and with constant curvature into the non-raised lid edge sections 26 on both sides.
- the width of the lip support recess 16 measured in the transverse plane is slightly less than half as large as the corresponding width of the cover wall 12, so that the recess 16 is formed in one half of the cover wall 12.
- the longitudinal extent of the depression 16 is also approximately half that of the lid wall 12. If drinking cups with a larger or smaller cross section are used, the dimensions of the lid change accordingly, but not those of the lip rest depression 16.
- the entire non-raised lid edge 26 lies in a plane parallel to the lower edge of the peripheral edge 14, which is approximately at the level of the bottom of the lip support recess 16.
- the top wall 12 thus rises from the edge 26 to the trough edge 18. 2, an inclined surface results for this rising section 28.
- This obliquely rising wall section 28 is then followed by a concavely curved falling section 30 of the trough 16, which then merges continuously into a trough wall 32 which rises again and extends up to the raised lid edge 22.
- the rising trough wall 32 and the wall of the lid rim 22 form a very acute angle with one another on average and this region extends almost over the entire length of the trough 16.
- the lip support recess 16 is concave in cross section 2-2
- the bottom 34 of the recess 16 is slightly convex in approximately the longitudinal section 3-3.
- the convexly curved floor surface 34 results in a better adaptation to the anatomical shape of the upper lip.
- the peripheral edge 14 extends approximately cylindrical in the non-raised lid edge area, but is placed outward in the area of the raised lid edge 22 such that the highest point 24 of the raised lid edge 22 lies outside the contour of the peripheral edge 14.
- the outer surface of the area of the raised lid edge 22 is thus convex in the circumferential direction and preferably concave in the axial section (2-2).
- an outlet opening 36 in the form of a slot which begins immediately adjacent to the highest point 24 of the raised lid edge 22 and extends almost to the lowest point of the trough 16 in the offset plane 2-2.
- An air hole 38 is located in the cover wall 28 opposite this opening 36.
- a slot-shaped channel adjoins the approximately circular outlet opening 37, which leads to the highest point 24 of the lid edge 22, but ends before this highest point.
- the channel has a depth that decreases continuously to zero. The upper lip of the patient engaging in the depression 16 thus closes the opening 36 or 37 when resting on the rising depression section 32.
- An anatomically shaped mouthpiece is thus integrated in the cover 10, which is essentially formed by the two lip contact surfaces 22, 32 lying at an acute angle to one another.
- This acute-angled edge formation extends over almost the entire length of the lip support recess 16 and, when used in the mouth of the patient, up to the corners of the mouth.
- the acute angularity of the lip contact surfaces 22, 32 enables the patient, as in the case of conventional drinking, to close or almost close the lips during swallowing, in order to thereby interrupt the fluid supply.

Description
- Fig. 1 eine perspektivische Ansicht des neuartigen Trinkbecherdeckels,
