Claims (4)

1. A device for presenting the weft to the insertion needle of a loom which comprises a mechanism for casting off and presenting to the needle (13) the portion of the weft (T) between a guiding eyelet (d) and the edge (a) of the fabric, and which also comprises a cutting mechanism (C) of the end of the weft located close to the edge (a) of the fabric, each of said mechanisms being carried by a fixed part (7) of the frame of the loom and being activated separately by a cam (2-17-30) rotating in synchronism with the main shaft of the loom, said device being characterised in that it further comprises a fixed weft gripping mechanism (27) carried by the frame (7) of the loom, permitting gripping of the weft carried by the needle ; and in that the casting off mechanism (R) comprises a casting off finger (1) which is slidably mounted in a generally vertical direction in a rotating movable guide (10) carried by the frame (7) of the loom and which is provided with a casting off hook (12) and comprises a connecting linkage (3, 4, 8, 5) interposed between said finger (1) and the cam surface of the cam (2).
2. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the presenting mechanism comprises a presenting hook (14) which is carried by a shaft (16) pivotably mounted in a support (25) integral with the frame (7) of the loom and which is provided with a presenting hook (14a) ; in that the fixed weft gripping mechanism (27), which is carried by the frame (7) of the loom is constituted by two gripping blades, a lower blade (28) and an upper blade 29, in the form of an arc of a circle which extends over the arc of a circle trajectory of the hook 14 ; and in that a connecting linkage (18, 19, 21, 23, 24) is interposed between said shaft (16) and the cam surface of the cam (17).
3. A device as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that the shaft (16) is inclined obliquely to the vertical.
4. A loom, characterised in that it is provided with a device for presenting the weft (T) to the insertion needle (13) according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, said device being carried by the frame (7) of the loom and being located on the side of the loom, between a weft guiding eyelet (d) and the edge (a) of the fabric.
