Description

  • La présente invention concerne un dispositif pour le maintien en position, avec sécurité, d'un abattant lorsque celui-ci est, suivant les cas, soulevé ou abaissé.
  • On connaît un grand nombre de dispositifs répondant à ce besoin. Ils sont en général réalisés au moyen de pièces assemblées et articulées entre elles à la manière des branches de ciseaux, de compas ou de parallélogrammes articulés et comprennent des systèmes de crantages, d'encliquetages, de verrouillages et analogues pour le maintien en position voulue de ces pièces entre elles lorsque l'ensemble est déployé ou replié.
  • Ce type de dispositifs est largement utilisé dans le cas des abattants de secrétaires ou autres meubles à tablettes dites rabattables, des pieds de tables dites tables de bridge ou de camping, des couvercles ou des abattants de valises, de sacs, de mallettes, etc. Si ces systèmes donnent satisfaction dans la plupart de ces utilisations, il faut noter un inconvénient non négligeable dans le cas des valises, des sacs ou des mallettes. En effet, dans ces derniers cas, les branches des systèmes articulés se replient en général à l'intérieur du volume que constituent ces valises, sacs ou mallettes et il y a risque de pincement, de coincement, voire de coupure ou de déchirure d'objets qui pourraient se trouver pris dans ces systèmes. Ils sont par ailleurs, dans toutes les utilisations rappelées ci-dessus, parfois gênants ou encombrants. De plus, le maintien en position voulue n'est obtenu que si l'on s'est préalablement assuré que les moyens de crantages, d'encliquetages ou de verrouillages ont été convenablement engagés, actionnés ou sollicités; sinon, on assiste alors au phénomène radicalement opposé à celui recherché. Il est, par exemple, très désagréable que le couvercle ou l'abattant d'une valise se rabatte subitement par suite d'une simple sollication involontaire du système de maintien en position ouverte dudit couvercle.
  • On connaît aussi des dispositifs du type comportant une pièce munie à chacune de ses extrémités d'un téton, chaque téton étant pris entre les parois d'une gorge de forme allongée pratiquée dans un boîtier et pouvant y effectuer un mouvement de translation ou de rotation. De tels dispositifs ne présentent pas de sécurité permettant à l'abattant de rester en position soulevée ou abaissée (voir DE-A-1 912949).
  • Or, la présente invention obvie à ces inconvénients et vise un dispositif ayant la double fonction, tout d'abord du maintien en position d'un abattant lorsque celui-ci est soulevé ou abaissé et celle de sécurité au cas où la fonction de maintien en position viendrait à être involontairement contrariée.
  • Le dispositif selon l'invention est essentiellement du type comportant une pièce plate munie à chacune de ses extrémités d'un téton, chaque téton étant pris entre les parois d'une gorge de forme allongée pratiquée dans un boîtier et pouvant y effectuer un mouvement de translation ou de rotation, et caractérisé en ce que chaque gorge présente au voisinage d'au moins l'une de ses extrémités une zone de section moindre et à parois douées d'une certaine élasticité, chaque boîtier étant destiné à être rendu solidaire de l'élément correspondant de l'ensemble articulé auquel ce dispositif est appliqué.
  • D'autres détails et les avantages de l'invention ressortiront plus clairement de la description qui va suivre faite en regard des dessins annexés. Pour illustrer l'invention, on a pris comme exemple d'application celui d'une valise ou d'un coffre. Ainsi, sur ces dessins:
    • - la figure 1 est une vue en élévation-coupe d'une valise ou d'un coffre (en position ouverte) muni du dispositif selon l'invention;
    • - la figure 2 est une vue en perspective d'un élément constitutif du dispositif selon l'invention, et
    • - la figure 3 est une vue en perspective d'une partie du dispositif selon l'invention dans une des positions possibles en cours de fonctionnement.
  • En se référant à ces figures, on a désigné par la référence 1, la cuvette du coffre ou de la valise et par la référence 2 le couvercle correspondant. Sur la face interne de chacune de ces deux parties contenues dans un même plan vertical, est fixé un boîtier 3-3a à l'intérieur duquel est pratiquée une gorge oblongue 4-4a dont les extrémités 5-5a, 5b-5c, sont de préférence de forme arrondie. Au voisinage des extrémités 5 et 5b de chacune de ces gorges, la section est rétrécie et les parois à cet endroit sont avantageusement douées d'une certaine élasticité pour la raison qui ressortira ci-après. Ces parois pourront, par exemple, être constituées de deux bossages ou de deux lamesressorts 8-8a.
  • Ces deux boîtiers sont réunis entre eux par une pièce plate 6, par exemple deux fois coudée, comme illustré sur les dessins. Cette pièce est munie, au voisinage de chacune de ses extrémités, d'un téton 7-7a.
  • Le fonctionnement du dispositif décrit ci-dessus est le suivant:
    • Le coffre ou la valise étant en position ouverte, comme représenté sur la figure 1, on se rend tout d'abord compte que les tétons 7 et 7a ne peuvent franchir l'étranglement délimité par les parois en saillie 8-8a que si l'on exerçait une force sensible les obligeant à franchir cette zone. Ceci constitue une première sécurité: le couvercle ne peut se rabattre que sous l'action d'une force d'une certaine importance exercée volontairement.
  • Soit donc l'exercice de cette force dans le sens de la flèche F, tendant à rabattre le couvercle 2 sur la cuvette 1:
  • Dans un premier temps, le téton 7 franchit la zone de bossages 8 et effectue un mouvement de translation le long de sa gorge 4, le téton opposé 7a servant d'axe de rotation de la pièce 6 au cours de cette translation. Arrivé en fin de course, le téton 7 vient en butée en fond de gorge 5a. Si l'on cesse à ce moment d'exercer la force F, le couvercle peut s'immobiliser dans la position prise, son poids n'étant pas suffisant pour solliciter, par le fond de gorge 5a, la pièce 6, et faire en sorte que le téton 7a franchisse la zone rétrécie délimitée par les bossages 8a de la pièce 3a. C'est une seconde sécurité.
  • Par contre, si l'on continue à exercer la force F, le téton 7a franchit la zone de bossages 8a et le couvercle continue à se rabattre, ledit téton 7a effectuant un mouvement de translation de long de la gorge 4a, le téton 7 servant d'axe de rotation de la pièce 6 pour favoriser ce déplacement. En fin de course (butée en 5c), le couvercle est considéré comme fermé. La position respective des éléments et des pièces est illustrée en traits mixtes sur la figure 1.
  • Pour l'ouverture, on exerce une force opposée (Fl); le téton 7 initialement en butée contre le fond de gorge 5a suit les parois de la gorge 4 puis franchit la zone rétrécie délimitée par les bossages 8. Si la force d'ouverture cesse, la position prise par le couvercle est maintenue d'elle-même, le poids du couvercle n'étant pas suffisant pour le faire retomber, c'est-à-dire faire en sorte que le téton 7 franchisse la zone délimitée par le bossage 8. C'est une première sécurité à l'ouverture.
  • Si l'on continue par contre à exercer la force F" la tringle 6 est à son tour sollicitée, le téton 7 étant en butée en fond de gorge 5; le téton 7a initialement en butée en fond de gorge 5c suit la gorge 4a, franchit la zone délimitée par le bossage 8a et l'on se retrouve dans la position illustrée à la figure 1 avec sa double sécurité; les tétons 7-7a respectivement en double butée (fond de gorge 5-5b et bossage 8-8a).
  • La figure 3 illustre la possibilité de rotation de la tringle 6 en prenant chaque téton tel que 7 comme axe de rotation.
  • De la description qui précède, on se rend immédiatement compte des principaux avantages de l'invention, en particulier: encombrement minimum, absence de branches articulées pouvant faire office de ciseaux, double sécurité à l'ouverture et à la fermeture; cette sécurité est d'autant plus assurée que la force nécessaire pour franchir les bossages 8-8a sera importante, comme le comprendra fort bien l'homme de l'art qui en choisira la matière constitutive en conséquence.

Claims (1)

1. Dispositif ayant la double fonction du maintien en position d'un abattant et celle de sécurité lorsque cet abattant est soulevé ou abaissé, dispositif du type comportant une pièce plate (6) munie à chacune de ses deux extrémités d'un téton (7-7a), chaque téton étant pris entre les parois d'une gorge (4-4a) de forme allongée pratiquée dans un boîtier (3-3a) et pouvant y effectuer un mouvement de translation ou de rotation, caractérisé en ce que chaque gorge (4-4a) présente au voisinage d'au moins l'une de ses extrémités une zone de section moindre et à parois (8-8a) douées d'une certaine élasticité, chaque boîtier (3-3a) étant destiné à être rendu solidaire de l'élément (1-2) correspondant de l'ensemble articulé auquel ce dispositif est appliqué.
