Definitions

  • the invention relates to a weft control device for a rapier weaving machine with a weft selector, which comprises one or more sets of enrichers, weft scissors and a link for separating the selected weft thread from the other weft threads, which separating element brings the selected weft thread over the rapier head of the rapier.
  • a shot control device of this type is known.
  • a stationary, cam-controlled weft shear is provided which cuts the weft after it has been gripped by the gripper.
  • the separating member is formed by a cam-controlled pivot lever, which is only intended to facilitate the detachment of the respectively selected thread from the bundle of the other weft threads (see FIG. 3).
  • the object of the invention is to provide a weft control device of simplified construction and reliable function, which can be adapted particularly well to double rapier weaving machines.
  • the weft scissors are fixedly connected to the reed and have a clamping piece, which grips the selected weft thread, and a cutting knife for cutting the gripped weft thread before gripping the weft thread by the gripper, and in that the separating member is linear from one Movable slide is formed, which can be moved back and forth synchronously with the reed in order to bring the selected weft thread between the clamping piece and the respective enricher in the retracted position of the reed over the hook head.
  • Fig. 1 only the components of a rapier weaving machine with a compartment are shown, which are necessary to describe the invention.
  • the reed 1 with the top layer of warp threads 2 and the bottom layer of warp threads 3 form a compartment, whereby the weft thread 4 is carried by a gripper 5 to the center of the compartment, where the entrained end of the weft thread is carried by a pull-through gripper that passes the weft through the second half of the compartment.
  • the weft thread is pressed against the fabric 6 by the stop movement of the reed 1, which now counts one more weft thread.
  • weft thread is accepted by a system of stationary packages 7 and these are guided to a weft selector 10 by means of stationary guides 8 and 9.
  • stationary guides 8 and 9 In fact, different types and / or colors of weft are commonly used to make a fabric.
  • the fabric drawing or the motif is determined by the sequence of the weft threads by type and color, combined with the sequence of the warp threads side by side. It is therefore necessary for the desired weft thread to be selected or selected from among the various available ones in order to be taken along by the gripper 5.
  • the shot selector 10 is further illustrated with its special features in Fig. 2. It consists of a stationary frame 11 in which there is an axis 12 about which a system indicating lever 13 can freely rotate at a certain angle.
  • the axis 12 of the pick selector in the shot control device according to the invention is horizontal and parallel to the reed surface.
  • Each indicating lever 13 (see Fig. 2) which coincides with a weft thread is in the form of a bent or folded rod which is equipped at one of its outer ends with an eyelet 14 therethrough one of the weft threads 4 is pulled.
  • the other end 15 of each indicating lever 13 is attached to the respective enrichment device 16, which can rotate freely about the axis 12 - between two parts 17.
  • the enricher 16 is also equipped with an arm 18 which forms a certain angle with the arm 19 in which the indicating lever 13 is fixed.
  • the enricher 16 is coupled to a cable 20, which allows the enricher 16 to make a rotating movement about the axis 12.
  • Each cable 20 is then connected to a lever 21 of a freely programmable element 22 of the open compartment type, as is the case, for example, with a jacquard or dobby.
  • Each selector (16) of the weft selector can assume two positions: the retirement when the weft 4 must not be carried by the hook 5 and the specified position when the weft 23 has been selected to be taken by the hook 5.
  • the movement is controlled in the weft control device according to the invention from the freely programmable element 22, with the advantage that the selected weft thread 23 can remain in its predetermined position as long as this is provided in the repeat and is not moved unnecessarily - as this is still the case with the known weft control devices - and is not subject to the rapid rhythm of the weaving machine speed - with all the risks associated with a rapid movement, in particular the tearing and mixing of the weft threads.
  • the movement of the selected weft thread 23 from its rest position to its predetermined position is far enough to bring the selected thread 23 into the open mouth of the weft scissors 25 during the stop movement of the Webriets; the remaining weft threads 4 are not detected.
  • the weft scissors 25 which is attached to the striking frame, perform a tilting movement which is followed by a cutting movement, the weft thread being gripped by a clamping piece 26 (FIG. 3) and then cut by a cutting knife which is made from a fixed Knife 27 and a movable knife 25 and is controlled by cams, as described in EP-A-7543.
  • the weft scissors 25 come back with the reed 1 in order to bring one end of the selected weft thread 23 in front of the gripper 5, either from the same feeder 16, which has then remained in the specified position, or from one other enricher 16 who has replaced the previous one.
  • FIG. 1, Fig. 4 Another identification of the shot control device according to the invention is the slide 29 (Fig. 1, Fig. 4), which is formed by an elongated plate with a protruding piece 30.
  • This slide 29 is located close to the weft selector 10 and makes a horizontal back and forth movement, in synchronism with the reed 1, as is controlled from the reed axis.
  • the slider 28 moves forward with the protruding piece 30 and brings the new weft end over the hook head 31, so that the new weft thread 23 can be easily removed the gripper 5 is brought into the compartment.
  • the weft control device according to the invention is particularly suitable for double rapier weaving machines (FIG. 6) due to its simplified mechanism and the space requirement.
