Weft control device for a gripper weaving machine with a weft selector (10) which comprises one or more sets of servers (16), a weft cutter (25) and a member for separating the selected weft thread (23) from the other weft threads, which separating member brings the selected weft thread (23) to above the gripper head (31) of the shuttle gripper (5), characterised in that the weft cutter (25) is firmly connected with the reed (1) and comprises a clamp piece (26) which grasps the selected weft thread (23), also a cutter blade (27, 28) for cutting the grasped weft thread before the gripping of the weft thread by the gripper, and in that the separating member is formed by a linearly movable slider (29) which is reciprocatingly movable in synchronism with the reed (1) in order to bring the selected weft thread, between the clamp piece (26) and the respective server (16), to above the gripper head (31) when the reed (1) is in the retracted position.
2. Weft control device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the servers (16) of the weft selector (10) are mounted on a horizontal spindle (12) which is situated parallel to the reed surface.
3. Weft control device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the servers (16) comprise a bent-over lever (13).
4. Weft control device according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the sliders (29) which are situated beside the weft selector (10) bring the selected weft thread (23) to above the shuttle gripper (5) which is controlled by the reed spindle.
5. Weft control device according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the slider (29) which is situated beside the weft selector (10) is equipped with a protruding part (30) in order more easily to take up the selected weft thread (23).
6. Weft control device according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that a freely programmable element (22) of the open-shed type is provided for the control of the servers (16).
7. Double-gripper weaving machine with a weft control device according to one of the preceding Claims, characterised in that the weft control device has available a weft selector (10) with a doubled set of servers.
8. Double-gripper weaving machine according to Claim 7, characterised in that the one set of servers lies above the other.
9. Double-gripper weaving machine according to Claim 7 or 8, characterised by two sliders (29, 29'), the one lying above the other.
10. Double-gripper weaving machine according to one of Claims 7 to 9, characterised by two weft cutters (25, 25'), the one lying above the other.
