Description

The invention relates to a locking fitting for a window, door or the like, provided with at least one bit with an adjustable projection secured to an operating rod by means of a threaded element and passing through a guide light provided in a headrest. secured to the sash or the frame to engage in a keeper secured to the frame or the sash of the window, door or the like.

Already known, from document DE-A No. 2553645, fittings for locking a window, door or the like comprising a device for adjusting the projection of the bit engaging in a keeper disposed on the frame for locking of the opening. This adjustment device consists of a thread of the tail of the bit and a tapped hole made in the operating rod receiving the bit. To avoid an unexpected adjustment of the bit, it is provided that the threaded tail of the bit is screwed forcefully into the threaded hole of the operating rod. However, because of the manufacturing tolerances, it is very difficult to obtain a force screwing which is, at the same time, sufficiently tight to resist the tangential friction of the strike on the peripheral surface of the bit necessarily round and flexible enough to allow adjustment of the bit protrusion.

In addition, tightening by force may loosen after several adjustment operations.

Furthermore, the fact that the bit is necessarily round, the resistance of the bit to shear generated by the application of the leaf against the frame is limited, because the diameter of the threaded tail is dependent on the width of the headrest therefore the thickness of the window, door or the like.

The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks. The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of creating a locking fitting having means for adjusting the projection. bit insensitive to manufacturing tolerances and little subject to wear. Furthermore, the invention also seeks to increase the resistance of the bit to shear. According to the invention, this bit comprises rotation blocking means cooperating with the guide light of the headrest and the operating rod is spaced by a determined distance from the internal face of the headrest.

According to a preferred design of the invention, the means for locking in rotation that the bit comprises are a parallelepiped base guided in the guide lumen made in the headrest.

One embodiment of the invention provides that the threaded element is fixed to the parallelepiped base and screwed into a threaded hole in the operating rod, while another embodiment conceives that the threaded element is fixed to the operating rod and that the bit is screwed onto the threaded element.

According to a variant of the present invention, the bit, having an oblong base, comprises displacement means according to a rectilinear path perpendicular to the external face of the headrest.

According to a first embodiment, the threaded element is an axis integral axially but free in rotation of the bit, this axis having, at the end screwed into the operating rod, a threaded shoulder and, at the other apparent end, a bit retaining element. The visible end of this axis comprises a gripping means for a tool allowing the rotation of said axis.

According to another embodiment, the threaded element is axially integral but free in rotation of the operating rod and screwed into the bit. The visible end of this threaded axis also includes a gripping means for a tool.

A variant of these two embodiments making the holding of the bit more solid is obtained as soon as at least one guide axis integral with the maneuvering rod is arranged in parallel with the threaded axis.

The advantages obtained thanks to this invention consist essentially in that, in order to adjust the bit, it suffices to exert traction on the latter to bring the operating rod closer to the headrest and thus to dissolve the cooperation between the locking means in rotation of the bit and the guide light produced in the headrest. Therefore, it is possible to turn the bit and modify the projection of the bit by rotation of the latter.

Another advantage is that the invention increases the resistance of the bit to shearing by providing that the parallelepiped base guided in the guide light of the headrest is oblong.

On se réfère aux fig. 1 et 2.We refer to fig. 1 and 2.

The locking fitting 1 comprises an operating rod 2 sliding in a groove 3 formed in the edge 4 of the opening or of the window frame 5 of the window, door or the like. The groove 3 is covered with a headrest 6 embedded in a second groove 7 of width greater than the groove 3. This headrest 6 is fixed to the edge 4 of the opening or of the frame 5. We practice in this headrest 6 at least a guide light 8 traversed by a bit 9. This has a threaded element in the form of a threaded tail 10 engaged in a threaded hole 11 made in the operating rod 2 having at the location of the bit 9 a part elastic. The bit 9 protrudes relative to the external face 12 of the headrest 6. This projection 13 cooperates with a keeper secured to the frame or the opening (the keeper on the frame or the opening is not shown in the figures ). Between this projection 13 and the threaded tail 10, the bit 9 has a parallelepiped base 14.

Ainsi, on obtient des moyens de blocage annihilant toute rotation inopinée du panneton 9.According to the embodiment shown in these figures, the projection 13 has a circular section and the parallelepiped base 14 has a square section. To obtain a good resistance of the bit 9 to shearing, the base 14 takes an oblong shape as indicated in dotted lines. This parallelepiped base 14 is engaged in the guide light 8 of the headrest 6 so that the two parallel sides 15, 16 of the base 14 cooperate with the two parallel walls 17, 18 of the guide light 8. Thus, obtains blocking means annihilating any unexpected rotation of the bit 9.

According to the invention, the operating rod 2 is spaced a certain distance from the internal face 19 of the headrest 6. The distance 20 between the operating rod 2 and the internal face 19 of the headrest 6 has a value equal to the height 21 of the base 14.

To adjust the bit 9, a pull is exerted on the latter, this pull bringing the operating rod 2 closer to the internal face 19 of the face plate 6. As a result, the rectangular base 14 is entirely released from the light guide 8 and one can imply a rotation with the bit 9 by screwing or unscrewing more or less the threaded shank 10 in the threaded hole 11 of the operating rod 2. By releasing the bit 9, due to the elasticity of the operating rod 2, the latter again occupies its initial position and the parallelepiped base 14 engages in the guide lumen 8, it being understood that the sides 15, 16 of this base 14 must be parallel to the walls 17, 18 of the guide light 8.

On se réfère aux fig. 3 et 4.We refer to fig. 3 and 4.

According to another embodiment shown in these figures, the bit 109 has an oblong section. The base 114 located between the threaded element and the projection 113 is also oblong. There is provided in this bit 109 a tapped hole 122 into which is screwed a threaded pin 123 acting as a threaded element and the end 124 of which is integral with the operating rod 102. The base 114 is engaged in the light 108 of the headrest 106. The spacing 120 corresponds to the height 121 of the base 114. The advantage of giving the bit 109 or at least the base 14 or 114 an oblong section consists in increasing the resistance to shearing of the bit 9 or 109. The adjustment of the latter is done as described above.

However, it sometimes proves necessary to have a more precise adjustment of the bit than those of the bits 9 and 109 above. Indeed, the adjustment of the bit is jerky and corresponds to a quarter-turn of rotation when its base has a square section, and to a half-turn of rotation when its base has an oblong section. Furthermore, it is possible that the operating rod does not have sufficient elasticity for it to come closer to the headrest in order to completely disengage the parallelepiped base from the guide lumen. It is therefore desirable that the adjustment is progressive and that the movement of the bit takes place along a rectilinear path perpendicular to the front face of the headrest.

On se réfère aux fig. 5 et 6.We refer to fig. 5 and 6.

The bit 209 has a bore 225 whose end 226 directed towards the keeper is provided with a cylindrical recess or a frustoconical milling 227. In this bore 225 is. threaded an axis 228 whose end 229 located on the side of the operating rod 202 has a shoulder 230. The diameter of the bore 225 is slightly greater than the diameter of the axis 228 and the latter can rotate freely without driving in rotation the bit 209. The shoulder 230 has a thread and constitutes a threaded tail 210 screwed into the tapped hole 211 made in the operating rod 202. The holding of the bit 209 on the axis 228 is done using a retaining element 231 which can be a washer or a head riveted on the visible end 242 of the axis 228. Therefore, the bit 209 is trapped between, on the one hand, the retaining element 231 and , on the other hand, the shoulder 230 of the axis 228. Thus, the latter is integral axially but free in rotation of the bit 209. To actuate this axis 228, the visible end comprises a gripping means 232 for a tool such as a wrench or screwdriver. Thus, it is possible to proceed from the outside to adjust the bit 209. It is necessary that the operating rod 202 is also spaced by a determined distance from the internal face 219 of the headrest 206. This spacing 220 must be preferably identical to the spacing 237 between the bottom 236 of the groove 203 and the rear face of the operating rod 202. This gives the maximum adjustment stroke 233 possible without, when the projection 213 is in the minimum position, the rear edge 234 of the bit 209 rubs on the external face 212 of the headrest 206 and the top 235 of the shoulder 230 rubs on the bottom 236 of the groove 203.

7 and 8 showing another embodiment of the invention. According to this embodiment, the threaded axis 323 is integral in displacement with the operating rod 302 but free to rotate in the smooth hole 339 made in said operating rod 302. This smooth hole 339 has a frustoconical milling 340 flaring out towards the bottom 336 of the groove 303 in which the flared head 341 of the threaded axis 323 is housed. The visible end 342 of the threaded axis 323 also comprises a gripping means 343 for a tool such as a wrench with hexagon allowing adjustment from the outside of the bit 309. It is necessary that the height 321 of the parallelepiped base 314 is greater than the distance 320 so that, when the projection 313 is in minimum position, the edge 344 of this parallelepiped base 314 bears against the front face 345 of the operating rod 302 while there is a clearance between the rear edge 334 of the bit 309 and the external face 312 of the headrest 306. For the adjustment of the bit 309, just imply er a rotation to the threaded axis 323.

9 and 10 showing another variant of the fitting according to the invention. To consolidate the holding of the bit 409, at least one guide pin 446,447 is provided which is integral with the operating rod 402. This guide pin 446, 447 is preferably arranged in parallel in the same vertical plane as the threaded axis 423. This axis 446, 447 slides in a blind hole 448, 449 produced in the bit 409. The length of this axis 446.447 is slightly less than the length of the threaded axis 423.
