This creates the edge to which the headbands are attached after trimming. Apart from the complicated and expensive structure of the three-layer material, this is changed by the deep-drawing process in the manufacture of the mask body in an uneven and hardly manageable manner.

Abstract
Demi-masque respiratoire filtrant comportant un élément masque (1) avec une partie filtre intérieure (2) en plastique et microfibres de verre et une partie extérieure de support (3) en un tissu de fibres synthétiques à grandes mailles de configuration semblable. Les deux couches sont reliées l'une à l'autre par soudage ou par collage, formant ainsi une bordure d'étanchéité (4). Elles sont en outre reliées par d'autres points de soudage ou de collage (5) au fond de l'élément masque. Une pince (6) sur le nez assure l'étanchéité par pression autour du nez. Un ruban serre-tête (8) est fixé à l'élément masque par des boucles (7).
