Abstract

In order to allow the mast fixed of a sail craft, particularly a surf board, to have greater freedom, the mast is mounted so as to swing and rotate on a pole (2) mounted itself swingable and rotatable or foldable on the body (1) of the craft.

Description

The invention relates to a sailing device, in particular a surfboard, on the sliding body of which the sail is held by a tiltable and rotatable mast and a holding device connected thereto.

As is known, the mast holding the sail and a holding device is supported on the sliding body of surfboards to any orientation by means of a tiltable and rotatable foot part which receives the mast end. Furthermore, it is known that strong wind and water forces often cause the sliding body to be lifted off the water surface, as a result of which the surfboard is converted from the sliding phase into a flight phase. However, it is not possible to use the flight phase for flights of greater length when the mast is upright or when the mast is tilted due to the one-sided inclined position of the sail.

It is an object of the invention to provide measures for achieving long flight phases in surfboards.

According to the invention, this object has found a solution in that the mast is arranged pivotably and tiltably on a support rod which is pivotally and rotatably or bendably connected to the sliding body. This ensures that when the mast is held transversely or obliquely to the water surface, sliding phases of the surfboard are possible on the water surface, while when the mast is held approximately parallel to the water surface, flight phases, for example in the manner of a kite, can take place over long distances. This gives the user of the sailing device the opportunity to use the sailing device either as a gliding device or as a flying device. It corresponds to the idea of the invention that the pivotable and tiltable design of the mast can be used with any sailing devices or with sliding bodies, e.g. a water ski or snow glider can be used. The transfer of the sailing device into the flight phase only requires the user to apply a tilting movement of the mast, which is easily achieved with surfboards by pivoting the holding device away.

In an embodiment of the sailing device, the mast is pivotally and tiltably connected to the support rod by means of a joint. Such a hinge can be formed by a hinge pin that is rotatably and tiltably guided in a bore of the support rod. The joint can also be formed in a different way, for example by a pivot pin guided on the support rod, on which the mast itself is rotatably arranged. Is too the arrangement of a rubber joint holding the mast, which is fixed by a threaded bolt on the support rod, possible. It is understood that the support rod may also be rigidly connectable to the sliding body. Here, however, the support rod should then be elastically bendable.

For the purpose of adapting the sailing device to different sizes of the user or for the purpose of using sails of different sizes, provision is further made to design the mast with a variable distance from the sliding body on the support rod. For this purpose, the support rod can have axially offset perforations into which the hinge pin or the rubber joint can be inserted. A clamp-like attachment for the mast on the support rod to which the mast, e.g. attacks by swiveling and tilting.

In order to achieve easy handling of the sailing device in the sliding phase, provision is also made for the mast on the support rod to be fixed in the upright position and in the pivoting and tilting positions by means of catches or cord pulls.

Finally, provision is made to fix the support rod on the sliding body by means of releasable catches. A catch, a ratchet drive or the like can be used as notches. serve.

The invention is explained using an exemplary embodiment in the drawing. Show it:
  • FIG. 1 shows a side view of a surfboard with a mast fixed to the sliding body in the upright position,
  • FIG. 2 shows a surfboard from FIG. 1 with the mast swung down, in perspective,
  • Figure 3 enlarged a portion of the support rod and mast and
  • Figure 4 enlarged a portion of the support rod and mast according to another training.

In the figures, 1 denotes the sliding body of a surfboard, on the upper side of which a support rod 2 is applied by means of a tiltable and rotatable foot part 3. According to the invention, a pivotable and tiltable hinge pin 5 is pushed near the free end of the support rod 2 through a bore 4 and rotatably holds a mast 6 (Fig. 3). The mast holds together with a single or double holding device 7, in particular spreader bars 7 'or 7 ", a sail 8. In the position of FIG. 1 the mast 6 is fixed with its lower end by a cord 9 on the support rod 2 and Sliding phases are easily possible by means of the mast 6 held in this way. The sliding body 1 can be designed in any manner, for example in the manner of a surfboard or can be designed as a water ski. Further sliding bodies, such as a diamond-shaped plate, are also conceivable.

In Fig. 2 the sailing device is shown as an aircraft. For this purpose, the mast 6 is pivoted about the hinge pin 5. The mast is pivoted away after the cord 9 has been released by applying a torque to the holding device 7 on the spreader bar 7 '. By lifting or lowering the holding device 7, the sail is 8 adaptable to flight requirements. In this case, the hinge pin 5 moves in a conical extension 4 'of the bore 4. The support rod 2 is expediently firmly connected to the sliding body in the position shown by releasable catches. By pivoting the mast 6 back into the upright position and fixing it to the support rod 2, the latter, like the sail 8, can again assume the position of FIG. 1 for sliding phases.

In Fig. 4, the mast 6 is pivotally and tiltably connected to the support rod 2 by a rubber joint 10, which is held by a threaded bolt 11 on the support rod 2. A slide plate 12 inserted between the support rod 2 and the rubber joint 10 facilitates the pivoting of the mast 6. The connection formed between the mast 6 and the support rod 2, if the mast 6 resiliently holds, may cause the mast 6 to automatically return to the upright position (FIG. 1) under the influence of prestresses generated when swiveling in the rubber joint. It is understood that other measures, e.g. springs inserted between the support rod and mast are possible to return the mast from the flight position to the feathering position.
