- a gas is injected into the jet axis of each die from the interior of the screw conveyor, each gas jet which has a sufficient pulse to substantially form a cone centered on the axis of compressed material by widening inside the latter, each rod being made up of a hollow tube whose internal wall crumbles during its advancement in the die and takes the form of the jet by releasing particles which are sucked into the jet and introduced with it into the 'pregnant.
- the origin of the jet and its pulse are determined so that the cone formed reaches a diameter of the order of that of the outlet orifice of the die, in the plane of the latter.
- FIG 1 there is shown by way of example an enclosure bounded by a wall 1 inside which is introduced a rod of combustible material by means of a screw conveyor consisting of a sheath 2 to the inside which a screw 3 is driven by a motor, by means of a reduction gear 4.
- the rotation of the screw causes a entrainment .of the combustible material introduced by a hopper 5 supplied with fuel, the latter being brought for example pneumatically or hydraulically.
- the sheath 2 is provided with a convergent 7 which directs the material entrained by the screw 3 towards a die 8 opening out inside the enclosure 1. - a gaseous jet of strong impulse always takes substantially the shape of a cone whose apex is placed at the center of the injection nozzle and whose half-angle at the apex A is of the order of 11 °.
- the pulse of the jet so that at the outlet of the nozzle 12, it has a speed between 50 m / s and the speed of sound.
- the jet is in the form of a cone which widens starting from the center of the nozzle 12.
- the tube 9 then consists of a hollow tube crossed in its axis by the jet 16 and by consequent whose internal wall takes the form of the jet. Indeed, if the impulse is sufficient, the jet retains its geometric characteristics inside the tube, the internal wall of the latter being disintegrated during its advancement and taking the form of the jet.
- the process of crumbling the bcudin is particularly effective at the outlet of the die if the position of the ⁇ use 12 is chosen so that, in the plane of the outlet orifice 17 of the die, the jet 16 is widened until reaching a diameter of the order of that of the orifice outlet 17.

- the distance L from the nozzle to the outlet face of the die is of the order of 2.5 times the diameter (d) of the outlet orifice.
- a device can be used to adjust the position of the injection nozzle 12 inside the die 16, so as to modify the thickness of the wall of the tube. This will be the case in particular if the nature of the fuel is changed, the fatty coals running the risk, for example, of forming very compact rolls then the dry coals are more easily broken up.
- the pipeline 11 can be slidably mounted along the bore 13 of the shaft of the screw, the latter being provided with a device 28, for example. with screw-nut, making it possible to adjust the position of the outlet nozzle 12 by sliding the pipe 11 inside the shaft.
- the nozzle 12 plays the role of a mandrel facilitating the formation in the die of a tubular-shaped tube.
- This arrangement is particularly advantageous because, for the same flow rate of combustible material, the use of several dies makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the rod of compressed material and facilitates its disaggregation.

- the injected jet must necessarily be constituted by a compressible fluid, this could however contain a certain quantity of liquid in suspension.

Description
The subject of the invention is a method and a device for spraying a solid combustible material introduced inside an enclosure by means of a screw conveyor.
The invention is particularly applicable to the introduction of divided solid fuels into a reaction chamber for combustion or gasification, the chamber being or not under pressure.
To introduce divided solid fuels inside an enclosure, in particular when the enclosure must be kept under pressure, it has already been proposed to use a screw conveyor consisting of one or more screws driven in rotation at 1 inside of a sheath provided at its upstream end with an inlet orifice for the material and at its downstream end with at least one die opening out through an outlet orifice inside the enclosure and into which extrusion forms a rod of compressed material. In this way, the solid fuel can be introduced in a continuous manner inside the enclosure while maintaining the tightness of the latter thanks to the compression of the material obtained in the die.
As a result, in particular when the enclosure is under high pressure, the rod introduced is very compact and it is necessary to disaggregate it in order to carry out combustion or gasification. For this purpose, it is possible to use a gas jet injected under high pressure on the tube leaving the die. However, when the rod is very compact, it is not certain, with such a method, to carry out a real atomization of the fuel, the rod being able to break into pieces of a certain importance.
On the other hand, by this method it may be necessary, to ensure the disintegration of the rod, to inject into the enclosure a large flow of gas which risks reducing the energy efficiency of combustion or gasification of the fuel.
The subject of the invention is a method and a device making it possible to remedy these drawbacks by ensuring, even for a relatively low flow of gas, perfect spraying of the fuel introduced.
According to the invention, a gas is injected into the jet axis of each die from the interior of the screw conveyor, each gas jet which has a sufficient pulse to substantially form a cone centered on the axis of compressed material by widening inside the latter, each rod being made up of a hollow tube whose internal wall crumbles during its advancement in the die and takes the form of the jet by releasing particles which are sucked into the jet and introduced with it into the 'pregnant.
According to an additional characteristic, the origin of the jet and its pulse are determined so that the cone formed reaches a diameter of the order of that of the outlet orifice of the die, in the plane of the latter.
The invention will now be described with reference to several embodiments, given by way of example and shown in the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows, in section along the axis of a screw, a screw conveyor for the introduction of combustible material, provided with the spraying device according to the invention.

Figure 3 and Figure 4 show two particular embodiments of the gas spray jet.
- La figure 5 représente un mode de réalisation de l'invention dans le cas d'un transporteur à deux vis.FIG. 5 represents an embodiment of the invention in the case of a conveyor with two screws.
- La figure 6 représente, en coupe transversale, un transporteur à trois vis, la figure 7 étant une vue en coupe axiale selon VII-VII figure 6.FIG. 6 represents, in transverse section, a conveyor with three screws, FIG. 7 being a view in axial section according to VII-VII FIG. 6.
Figure 10 shows in axial section another embodiment of the gas jet.
In Figure 1, there is shown by way of example an enclosure bounded by a
According to the invention, the shaft of the
In FIG. 2 which is an enlarged view of the end of the screw and of the
It is known that a gaseous jet of strong impulse always takes substantially the shape of a cone whose apex is placed at the center of the injection nozzle and whose half-angle at the apex A is of the order of 11 °.
According to the invention, it is advantageous to adjust the pulse of the jet so that at the outlet of the
To obtain this effect, it is necessary to place the
The process of crumbling the bcudin is particularly effective at the outlet of the die if the position of the ÷
The effectiveness of this erosion disintegration obviously depends on the compactness of the rod and the thickness of the wall thereof at the outlet of the die.
This will be the case for example if the fuel is dry coal or if the enclosure is not at a very high pressure requiring, to maintain the seal, the formation of a very compact rod. The distance (L) from the nozzle to the outlet face of the die can then be of the order of 1.5 times the diameter (d) of the latter.
Untel dispositif permet de diminuer l'usure des bords de l'orifice 17 de sortie de la filière 8.In this case, it is possible to use the device of FIG. 3 in which the die widens near the
On the other hand, if the tube is very compact, we will try to reduce as much as possible the thickness of the wall of the tube at the
In this case, the distance L from the nozzle to the outlet face of the die is of the order of 2.5 times the diameter (d) of the outlet orifice.
If the compactness of the tube varies, a device can be used to adjust the position of the
It will also be noted that if the
The preceding description has been made with reference to a single screw, but it is obvious that the same device can be applied to a conveyor with several screws if one places, as shown in FIG. 5, a
Cette disposition est particulièrement avantageuse car, pour un même débit de matière combustible, l'utilisation de plusieurs filières permet de diminuer l'épaisseur du boudin de matière comprimée et facilite la désagrégation de celle-ci.This arrangement is particularly advantageous because, for the same flow rate of combustible material, the use of several dies makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the rod of compressed material and facilitates its disaggregation.
However, in the case where the screw conveyor comprises three screws and a single die in the center of these, it is still possible to use an axial pipe opening out in the center of the die, as shown in the figures 6, 7 and 8.
In Figure 6, which is a section through a plane transverse to the axis of the screws, it can be seen that they are arranged so as to penetrate one into the other and distributed around an upright 21 placed in the 'axis of the
La pulvérisation du combustible s'effectue alors comme on l'a décrit précédemment, le jet 16 produit par la buse 12 s'élargissant à l'intérieur du boudin unique 9In the case of FIG. 7, the three screws push the entrained material towards a single convergent 71 which opens out into a
In all the embodiments described above, the
In this case, in fact, the
The invention implemented in the various embodiments that have been described, makes it possible to suspend the combustible material with a relatively low mass flow rate of gas, of the order of 2 to 20% by weight of the solid flow rate, the ratio from the pressure of the fluid in the
On the other hand, to obtain a jet retaining its geometrical characteristics inside the rod, one can calculate that the impulse must be at least equal to 30 Newton per ton / hour of coal.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the details of the embodiments which have been described by way of example. These could be modified by using equivalent means.
On the other hand, in all cases, it was based on an injection nozzle carrying a single injection orifice but the same result could be obtained, as shown in FIG. 10, with several orifices distributed around the 'axis of the nozzle and giving a conical overall jet centered on the axis. The number and the diameter of the orifices will be calculated as a function of the pressure in the injection pipe, in order to obtain the desired pulse. A more open jet can then be obtained, which makes it possible, with a slightly greater energy expenditure, to decrease the distance (L) from the nozzle to the outlet face of the die.
Furthermore, if the injected jet must necessarily be constituted by a compressible fluid, this could however contain a certain quantity of liquid in suspension.
