Definitions
- the invention relates to a sliding sleeve for storing samples under sterile conditions, especially at low temperatures.
- Sliding sleeves each consist of an inner and an outer cylindrical sleeve, which can be pushed into one another with their openings.
- the interior of the pushed-together sliding sleeve is protected against airborne particulate contamination. For this reason, they have long been used for goods that must be sterile packed.
- cryobanks In these cryobanks, customers can have any sample preserved with liquid nitrogen for any length of time.
- this is biological material that can only be stored indefinitely with the low temperatures of liquid nitrogen, for example genetic material of rare animal and plant species, rare blood groups and smaller organ parts of humans.
- technical and chemical materials can also be stored in this way, for example tastes and fragrances that are not yet fully detectable analytically.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a sliding sleeve which cannot be opened by third parties, except by force.
- the invention therefore makes it possible to maintain the advantages of the sliding sleeve, namely tight sealing of the interior against particulate contamination and compact design. At the same time, its essential disadvantage that it is easy to open is overcome.
- the drawing illustrates a partially broken embodiment of the invention.
- the sliding sleeve shown in the drawing consists of the outer sleeve 1, which is open at the bottom, and the inner sleeve 2, which is open at the top.
- the outer sleeve 1 is longer than the inner sleeve 2, as a result of which the outer sleeve 1 forms a protruding edge 3 when pushed into one another.
- two mutually opposite bores 4 are made according to the invention, through which a security wire 5 is drawn, which is secured by a seal 6.
- a security wire 5 is drawn, which is secured by a seal 6.
- At the open end of the outer sleeve 1 there are two recesses 7 in the wall thereof, which partially leave the closed end of the inner sleeve 2 free. The cutouts 7 make it possible to pull the sleeves apart without any problems after removing the securing wire 5.
- a handle can also be attached to the bottom of the inner sleeve 2, with which the inner sleeve 2 can be pulled out of the outer sleeve 1. Adequate security against unauthorized opening can also be achieved with only one hole 4, through which a sealable security wire can also be pulled or in which a lock can be attached.
