Definitions

  • the invention relates to a web-fed rotary printing press with at least one printing unit, a print carrier web feed for each printing unit and a folding unit comprising a cross-cutting device, which can be connected in register with the drive for the printing unit.
  • the invention has for its object to reduce the effort for pulling a paper web after retrofitting for a new print job.
  • the invention creates the possibility of connecting the printed print carrier web which is still in the machine to an unprinted print carrier web in such a way that continued printing in register is possible.
  • the web-fed rotary offset printing press shown in FIG. 1 comprises two printing units 1, 2, each of which is assigned a print carrier web feed 3, 4.
  • the machine further comprises a dryer 5, a cooling device 6 and a folding unit designated overall by 7.
  • a cross cutting device 8 is provided, which can consist of two parallel rollers with cutting knives and cutting grooves in a manner known per se.
  • a main drive motor 9 with a drive shaft 10 is used to drive the web-fed rotary offset printing press during operation.
  • the folder 7 is driven by the drive shaft 10 via a bevel gear pair 11 and a stitch shaft 12.
  • the stub shaft 12 carries a bevel gear pair 13 with which the cross-cutting device 8 is driven.
  • Another pair of bevel gears 14 with a downstream clutch 15 drives the plate cylinders 17 and blanket cylinders 18 of the printing unit 2 via a spur shaft 16.
  • the cylinders 17, 18 can also be driven by a motor 19.
  • the engagement movement of the clutch 15 is carried out by means of an actuating device 20 which is controlled in a manner known per se by means of a measurement sensor 21 such that the engagement movement is released when a mark passes by on a blanket cylinder 18. This ensures that the printing unit 2 is always coupled to the main drive motor 9 in such a position of the cylinders 17, 18, in which a register-based cut of the print carrier web printed in the printing unit 2 takes place on the cross-cutting
  • the printing unit 1 is designed as well the printing unit 2, so that it can also be coupled to the main drive motor 9 in register.
  • FIG. 1 shows the printing press in a position in which the print carrier web 22 has been printed in the printing unit 2.
  • the printing unit 1 was set up for a new print job.
  • a second print carrier web 23 has been drawn in through the printing unit 1 and around the printing unit 2 up to a web connecting device 24.
  • the web connection device 24 as is subsequently described in detail, the still unprinted print carrier web 23 is glued to the print carrier web 22 and then the print carrier web 22 is cut off in front of the adhesive point, so that after a clutch 25 is closed between the printing unit 1 and the main drive motor 9, the end of the Print carrier web 22 can pull the print carrier web 23 through the dryer, the cooling device and the folder 7.
  • FIGS. 2 to 5 The basic function of the web connection device 24 results from FIGS. 2 to 5.
  • the printed print carrier web 22 runs between a fixed clamping jaw 26 with an elastic support 27 facing the print carrier web and a movable clamping jaw 28 with an elastic pad 29 without contact. There is thus no risk of the pressure on the print carrier web 22 being lubricated in the web connecting device 24.
  • the print carrier web 23 is now to be glued to the print carrier web 22, the movable clamping jaw 28 is guided against the fixed clamping jaw 26, as shown in FIG. 3 .
  • a support beam 30 and a pressure rail 31 are guided against the pressure carrier web 22.
  • the print carrier web 22 is then severed along a separating edge 32 of the support beam 30, for example by tearing it off.
  • the pressure rail 31 is pivoted about an axis which coincides with a beveled tip 33 of a holding beam 34 until the position shown in FIG. 4 is reached, in which the pressure rail 31 has one end of the severed print carrier web 22 in contact with Holding bar 34 holds.
  • An adhesive strip 35 is now applied to the free end of the print carrier web 22.
  • the print carrier web 23 is then pulled over the support beam 30 and angled around its kinking and separating edge 36. As a result, the print carrier web 23 can be pulled tight up to the printing unit 1.
  • the holding bar 34 is pivoted together with the pressure rail 31 about an axis aligned with its tip 33 until the print carrier web 22 with the adhesive strip 34 comes to rest on the print carrier web 23.
  • the free end of the print carrier web 23 needs to be torn off along the folding and separating edge 36 and the movable clamping jaw 28 with the support bar 30 and the pressure rail 31 are in turn lowered into the rest position shown in FIG. 2.
  • the cooling device 6 and the folding unit 7 the print carrier web 23 can be fully drawn into the printing press.
  • FIGS. 6 to 10 The specific embodiment of a web connecting device according to the invention shown in FIGS. 6 to 10 is arranged between two fixed boards 37.
  • Two guide strips 38, 39 are screwed onto each of the two boards 37.
  • a slide 40 is guided in each case in or against the direction of the arrow a by means of the guide strips 38, 39.
  • the two slides 40 are firmly connected to one another via the movable clamping jaw 28.
  • a recess 41 is also provided in each of the two slides 40.
  • One end of the support beam 30, which extends over the entire width of the print carrier web, projects into each of the two recesses 41.
  • a lower adjusting screw 42 and three lateral adjusting screws 43, 44, 45 are provided for adjusting the position of the support bar 30 relative to each slide 40.
  • an adjusting shaft 46 is provided, which is supported at both ends on a bearing block 47.
  • Each bracket 47 is connected to a second circuit board 37.
  • a support piece is fixedly fitted, into which a bolt 49 with a loosely rotatable sleeve 50 surrounding it is inserted, offset from the axis of rotation of the actuating shaft 46.
  • the sleeve 50 engages in an elongated hole in the carriage 40.
  • a limit switch 53 is also attached to one of the two boards 37 and can be actuated by means of an extension on one of the two slides 40 in its lower end position.
  • the limit switch 53 ensures that the main drive motor 9 can only run when the carriage 40 and thus the movable jaw 28 of the support beam 30 and the pressure rail 31 are in the position shown in FIG. 2, in which the print carrier web 22 is free between the Clamping jaws 26, 28 can pass through.
  • two bearing blocks 54 are screwed to the movable clamping jaw 28, each of which carries a bearing journal 55.
  • a holder 56 is rotatably mounted on each bearing pin 55.
  • the pressure rail 31 is fastened to the holders 56.
  • An actuation button 58 is also firmly connected to each holder 56 via a lever 57.
  • the clamping jaw 26 is also firmly connected to each circuit board 37.
  • the bearing blocks 59 are screwed onto the fixed clamping jaw.
  • Each bearing bracket 59 also carries a bearing pin 60.
  • a holder 61 is rotatably seated on each bearing pin 60.
  • One end of the holding beam 34 is screwed to each of the two holders 61.
  • Two levers 62 are also welded to the holding beam 34.
  • Each of the two levers 62 carries an actuating button 63.
  • the bearing journals 60 and 55 are aligned with one another, so that the holding bar 34 and the pressure rail 31 can be pivoted about the same axis
  • the pressure rail 31 In order to be able to hold the pressure rail 31 in its one end position, it is fixedly connected to a cam disk 64, against which, as shown in FIG. 10, a pressure piece 65 guided in a bore in the bearing block 54 bears under the action of a spring 66.
  • the pressing force of the spring 66 is adjustable by means of a stop 67 screwed into the bearing block 54.
  • the pressure rail 31 of the actuating button 58 is transferred in the direction of arrow c to the end position shown in FIGS. 7 to 10.
  • the pressure rail 31 deflects the end of the printed paper web and then clamps it against the holding beam 34.
  • the holding bar 34 is moved in the direction of arrow d by means of the actuating buttons 63 pivoted until the printed paper web comes to rest on the unprinted print carrier web lying on the support beam 30, as shown in broken lines in FIG. 9. Since, as can be seen from FIG. 10, the pressure rail 31 presses the printed pressure carrier web against the holding beam 34 at least with its upper end, the movement of the holding beam 34 also follows the pressure rail 31. In this case, these two parts do not make any relative movements to one another, since the bearing journals 55 and 60, around which the pressure rail 31, on the one hand, and the holding bar 34, on the other hand, are rotatably mounted, are flush with one another.
  • the pressure piece 65 holds the pressure rail 31 via the cam disk 64 and thus the unprinted print carrier web in abutment with the holding bar 34 pivoted back into the position shown in Fig. 9.
  • the operating handles 52 are pivoted against the direction of arrow b until the slide 40 has reached its lower end position. In this position, the elastic supports 27, 29 of the clamping jaws 26, 28 are lifted from each other, so that the pressure carrier web can in turn be passed freely between the clamping jaws.
