Definitions

  • the invention relates to a coating device for strip-like material, in particular metal strips, with an application roller or a transfer roller, an immersion roller and a metering roller which can be moved by means of a carriage, the roller axes of which are arranged next to one another in a horizontal region, the connecting lines of their axes forming an obtuse angle.
  • a coating device of this type in which the coating material is supplied from the immersion trough arranged below the immersion roller through the immersion roller into the roller gap between the latter and the metering roller: in order to pass over the upper region of the thaw l roller to be delivered to the applicator roller.
  • - Coating and laminating devices are known from the magazine »Plastverarbeiter, 21st year 1970, Issue 1, p.26 / 27 «, which show in various combinations dip rolls or application rolls or devices in which the coating material in the gusset one Roll nip is abandoned.
  • a coating device is known in which a third roller is assigned to the last of two application rollers arranged in an inclined plane, which can be lifted off the second roller to such an extent that the coating material is thereby metered on the second roller can be varied.
  • This device called vc tehend works exclusively on the application principle of the coating material from the gusset of a roll gap (coating process).
  • US-A-2 749 878 and 3 018 757 coating devices for paper webs with four coating rollers are also known, the axes of which are arranged in a common horizontal plane. In these devices, all the rollers are fixed in their positions relative to one another. They dispense with the metering roller, which can be adjusted using a slide.
  • US-A-3 265 034 also shows a coating device with four coating rollers, of which the intermediate roller arranged between an immersion roller and a third roller is adjustable as well as a height-adjustable between the third roller and the further roller carrying the strip-like coating material.
  • the known coating devices thus work either exclusively by the immersion process or exclusively by the coating process and lack the easy overview of all roll gaps, quick and easy cleaning of all rolls and thus easy coating change.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned, in which the coating material can be applied either in the dipping process or in the coating process and both easy and quick cleaning of all rollers for a coating material change and a good overview of all rollers for correct operation of the device is given, the overall height of the device should be kept low.
  • the invention provides a coating device of the type mentioned, in which the metering roller is assigned a fourth vertically adjustable coating roller, that the application roller, the dipping or transfer roller and the metering roller are designed and arranged and the height adjustment of the fourth Roller as far as possible that the surface of all four rollers have the same or approximately the same distance from the axis of rotation of a common roller-shaped cleaning roller or brush.
  • the term "vertically adjustable” is intended to mean that the fourth roller can be adjusted vertically or approximately perpendicularly with respect to the metering roller.
  • the advantage of the coating device lies u. a. with the choice of either being able to remove the coating material from an immersion bath or to place it in a gusset of two rollers of the coating device. In this way, a good flow and a good distribution of the coating material, such as an exact metering of the coating material thickness on the strip-like material, can be achieved, as desired.
  • the strip-like material G to be coated is guided in the direction of arrow 1 over a reversing roller 2 in order to be coated here on its upper side 3. Thereafter, the band-shaped material runs in the direction of arrow 4 to another coating device, on which the band-shaped material G is coated on its underside 5.
  • This second coating device can be configured identically or similarly to the coating device described here.
  • the coating device carries on a base frame 6 a guide carriage 7 which is adjustable in the direction of the double arrow 8 on the reversing roller 2 and away from it.
