- valve In order to preserve the aroma of coffee, when a bag is filled with coffee, the air in the packaging bag is expelled with nitrogen or the bag is evacuated. As the roasted coffee enclosed in the bag releases carbon dioxide over time, it creates an overpressure which must be compensated for so that the bag does not inflate or even bursts. On the one hand, gas should escape from the bag through the valve, but on the other hand no air should be able to penetrate the bag. It goes without saying that the valve complies with the food regulations.
