Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for supplying painting lines, in particular the spraying points in spray booths with paint material with a pump that conveys paint material in a line.
- the paint spraying points are supplied with the necessary paint colors via ring line systems.
- a special ring line system is required for each color and each coating material.
- up to 20 spraying points per color are installed, for example for hand spraying (Industrie-Lackier-Betrieb (1976), pages 181, 182).
- the paint supply system consists essentially of a non-pressurized container with agitator, pump and a pipeline section in which the paint material is guided along the spray booths, the pressure and quantities required for spraying being regulated by throttle valves.
- the ring line feeds the paint material back into the container. This recirculation process is carried out to prevent sedimentation of particles in the pipes. If all spraying points are in operation, about 6 0 % of the paint material that the pump feeds into the ring line is sprayed, while 40% is returned to the container.
- the pressure level in the ring line is regulated at a return control valve, which is located in the ring line between the last spraying point and the paint preparation container, by throttling the volume flow of paint.
- Circulation pumps are either compressed air-driven piston pumps or multi-stage centrifugal pumps used. These pumps usually have to achieve a pressure difference of 8 to 12 bar, of which the return control valve alone throttles approx. 3 to 5 bar, while the rest of the existing pressure is reduced by the pressure loss in the pipe flow.
- Atmospheric pressure prevails in the container which serves as a paint batch container.
- the coating material flows to the pump and is raised in pressure.
- the pressure drops again due to the pressure loss, with a pressure reducing valve being provided for all spraying points, which valve ensures a uniform pressure at all spraying points regardless of the distance of the spraying point from the pump.
- the coating materials contain binders or mixtures of binders which are dissolved in suitable solvent mixtures as well as pigment and extender mixtures.
- the solvent can also be water, it also being possible to provide secondary lacquer dispersions in which the binder is undissolved in the aqueous or organic phase.
- Metallic basecoats in which e.g. Aluminum bronze is in the form of metallic platelets.
- the Reynolds number is used to check whether there is laminar or turbulent flow in the pipe of the ring line.
- This specific energy is so low that an essential dispersing effect on the pigments can be excluded by the shear flow in the tube.
- This value increases in direct proportion to the number of recirculation processes of the paint in the ring line.
- the shear stress intensity of pigment particles in the lacquer in throttle valves can be four to five hundred times higher than in the pipe.
- a change in the degree of dispersity of pigments in paints due to the shear stress in ring lines can, however, lead to shifts in the color strength, the color tone and the gloss properties of the paint.
- the instability threshold of a paint material can be achieved by the specified intensity and frequency of stress, particularly in throttle valves and pumps of paint supply systems.
- a ring line system 1 which may consist essentially of a tube in which the paint material is circulated with a circulation pump 2.
- the starting point and end point of this ring line system 1 is a pressure vessel 3, from which the circulation pump 2 draws paint material and feeds it back in.
- a level controller for the amount of paint in the pressure vessel 3 ensures that fresh paint material is supplied to the printing system via an unpressurized paint batch container 5 and a second but smaller pump 6.
- This pump 6 has to overcome the full static pressure jump, but the coating material is conveyed only once with this pump.
- the pipe length of this system concept would correspond to the length of the previous systems.
- a major advantage of this embodiment is that the paint material is circulated with a significantly reduced shear stress intensity.
- the pre-pressure at the injection points 4 can be kept constant better.
- Nitrogen can be used as the compressed gas. Previous oxidative influences on the paint material have been eliminated.
- the pressure diagram for this system is shown in FIG. 5.
- the paint batch container 5 is depressurized, ie here the pressure prevails.
- the pressure is then raised to the value c via the piston pump 6.
- the pressure points for the spray guns are arranged and in this loading rich, the pressure is adjusted via the material pressure regulator 7 according to FIG. 1 to the spray pressure h.
- Fig. 2 shows a system with pressure vessels arranged at both ends of the pressure vessel.
- a pipe section L2 which has no separate return, so that only half the pipe length compared to the system shown in Fig. 1 is required.
- two pressure vessels B2 and B3 are provided in this system, which are arranged at the two ends of the pipe section L2.
- the coating material is reversely conveyed back and forth in the pipe section L2 under increased static pressure, which is generated by a gas pressure cushion above the respective liquid level in the pressure vessels B2 and B3.
- the gas pressure in the container B2 is set somewhat higher than the gas pressure in the pressure container B3 and then vice versa.
- the pressure switching cycles are controlled via level control in the two pressure vessels in such a way that gas breakdown in the pipe section L2 is avoided with certainty.
- the volumes of the containers B2 and B3 should be one or two times larger than the actual pipe volume of the section L2, and thus the material in the pipe replace and mix back after each reversing cycle.
- the reversing cycle not only flows through the pipeline in one direction, but alternately in both directions. To an even greater extent, this prevents deposits of particles on the pipe wall and in particular on flange points and similar uneven transitions. Furthermore, the start-up flows that are constantly generated during reversing sometimes create turbulent flow behavior, which prevents particles from settling to a large extent. This makes it possible to switch to lower average flow velocities of, for example, less than 0.3 m / s. Furthermore, there is the possibility of not reversing constantly, but at intervals with standstill intervals.
- the pressurized gas supply to the pressure tanks B2 and B3 takes place via the pressurized gas tanks B4 and B5 and the lines L3, L4, L5 and L6.
- K designates a compressor which compresses the compressed gas with the pressure stage h from the pressure vessel B4 into the pressure vessel B5 to the pressure stage i.
- the compressor K with the associated pressurized gas containers B4 and B5 can supply several paint supply systems simultaneously and therefore only needs to be installed once. Since the compressed gas is circulated, the gas losses and the solvent losses are low and it is recommended to use nitrogen as the gas.
- Nitrogen increases the operational safety of the pressure vessel B2 and B3 and prevents oxidative changes to the L ackmaterial.
- the level regulators of the pressure vessels B2 and B3 also ensure that the paint material used during spraying from the paint preparation tank B1 in the atmospheric pressure a prevails over the pump P in sufficient quantity as fresh paint is fed to the pressure system via line L1.
- V1 in FIG. 2 The material pressure regulators that may be required are designated V1 in FIG. 2.
- solenoid valves V 111 to V 114 are inserted between the branch lines and hose connections d111 to d 142 . These solenoid valves are either completely open or completely closed at times. There is then no throttling of the paint flow. However, only one solenoid valve may be temporarily closed. The control of which solenoid valve is closed when and for how long can be carried out by a timer. It is irrelevant whether the paint flow in the pendulum line is from right to left or vice versa. It is essential that when the solenoid valve is closed, the differential pressure in the pressure vessels B12 and B13 initiates a paint flow in the branch line to the spray gun.
- V 411 pressure reducing valves are attached directly to the spray gun.
- the paint supply to the spray gun is ensured in all cases, regardless of whether the corresponding solenoid valve is closed or open. With the timer, the intervals and closing times of the solenoid valves can be individually adjusted to the paint material.
- the other components of the arrangement according to FIG. 3 have the same reference numerals as the arrangement according to 4, two possible controls for a so-called pipe pig M are shown.
- the pipe pig is controlled by a mechanical tappet arrangement 10, while in the other arrangement a magnetic blocking device is provided for the pipe pig M having an iron core.
- the newt has the task of keeping the pendulum line free of deposits and deposits. He can do this at very low flow velocities and must do this with reversing motion.
- the pig will replace the solenoid valves at the same time. He can do this if he is temporarily stopped between the stub lines to the spray guns and thereby blocks the main flow direction in the pendulum line, so that the paint flow must take place via the stub line.
- the pipe pig can be stopped and temporarily held at certain positions on the pendulum line, for example by means of an induction coil or a mechanical device.

Abstract
