Definitions

  • the invention relates to a trestle for semitrailers to be transported on railway carriages with a fifth wheel receiving the fifth wheel of the semitrailer, a downward pointing kingpin and a lock for fixing the trestle on the railroad car.
  • the semi-trailer During normal use of the semi-trailer in road traffic, its front part rests on the tractor's saddle and is centered with the kingpin. If the semitrailer is to be parked without a tractor, it is unsaddled, that is, placed on its own parking supports, which are arranged behind the kingpin outside the tractor area under the semitrailer. These own parking supports, which can be adjusted in length by means of hand mechanisms and are placed on the road with rollers or plates, are sufficient for the safe parking of the semi-trailer on streets and squares.
  • the semitrailer at the loading station is driven by a tractor onto the railway wagons called piggyback wagons, on which the semitrailer is transported without the tractor.
  • the semitrailer is then lowered from the piggyback truck by another tractor and carried on the road.
  • the semi-trailers' own parking supports do not meet the safety requirements for transport on other means of transport, for example on piggyback trucks.
  • the semitrailers are subjected to violent shocks in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle due to maneuvering acceleration and braking deceleration forces and corresponding cross-shocks when cornering and turning. These loads cannot be adequately absorbed by the parking supports mentioned. It is therefore common in piggyback traffic to use trestles instead of the parking supports to support the front end of the semi-trailer in order to be able to transport it safely on the piggyback truck.
  • the known trestles consist of racks carried on the piggyback truck, which have a fifth wheel on their upper side for saddling the semi-trailer by means of its kingpin.
  • the trestles are either fixedly arranged on the piggyback car or movable and provided with a locking device for fixing on the piggyback car. It is further known to guide the movable or longitudinally displaceable trestles in running or guide rails on the piggyback trolley and to fix them at the desired or required location on the piggyback trolley by means of a locking device.
  • the number of trestles required for a complete loading of the piggyback truck is always carried on the piggyback truck.
  • the trestles To load the piggyback wagon with the semitrailer, the trestles must be able to be driven over, that is to say so that they can be collapsed in such a way that they do not hinder the vehicles from entering or leaving the wagon. This requires a complicated, uneconomical and provided with many moving parts and therefore prone to failure construction of the trestles.
  • a support bracket is known from US-A-3 603 544, which is box-shaped and is provided on the inside with a transverse rib made of only partially perforated sheet metal and has a vertical king pin, which is arranged in the direction of travel of the semi-trailer in front of the fifth wheel coupling.
  • a disadvantageous tilting moment arises during use in that the kingpin and the fifth wheel coupling, to which significant vertical forces act, are at a horizontal distance from one another.
  • a remedy must be omitted simply because the tractor cannot go deep enough into the trestle because of the cross rib.
  • the invention is based on the object of finding a trestle which makes the entire loading and unloading process time-saving and more economical by better distribution of forces, which simplifies the fixing of the semi-trailer on the piggyback truck and which is economical to manufacture and does not require any complex components.
  • trestle of the type mentioned in that the trestle is designed in the form of a cross member or a portal and has the kingpin centrally below the fifth wheel coupling and is equipped with guides for vertical insertion into the railroad car.
  • the inventive design of the trestle ensures that the semitrailers usually parked on their parking supports for efficient loading at the loading station can be loaded onto the piggyback wagon without great expenditure of time and effort.
  • a single tractor held at the loading station travels with its saddle plate under a support frame that is also located at the loading station and automatically engages the fifth wheel in the kingpin of the support frame. With this support frame, the tractor then drives under the parked semi-trailer and also saddles it automatically onto the support frame.
  • the semi-trailer is raised and the tractor unit mounts the semi-trailer with the support frame backwards onto the piggyback vehicle.
  • the tractor In about the intended loading position of the semi-trailer, the tractor lowers the semi-trailer end of the semi-trailer, the support frame being guided over its guide elements into the guides of the piggyback wagon, centering the semi-trailer in the intended loading position. No trestles need to be carried on the piggyback truck. These are stored on the loading system and are only used when required. The cumbersome laying down and erecting of the support frame on the piggyback car is also advantageously eliminated. Characterized in that the support frame is designed in the form of a traverse or a portal, the tractor can drive unhindered with its fifth wheel under the support frame and saddle it up.
  • the arrangement of a king pin of a fifth wheel coupling under the trestle or under the fifth wheel coupling of the trestle also enables the support frame to be automatically saddled and with it the saddle-up of the semitrailer, which considerably simplifies the loading process.
  • the guide elements of the support frame take over the centering of the semi-trailer and the support frame in a planned loading position of the semi-trailer, which likewise ensures a significant simplification of the loading process.
  • the support bracket is supported with its transverse ends in the area of the side long beams of the railroad car on this or its side long beams. Since piggyback trucks are usually designed with a very low loading area, the arrangement of appropriate guides or brackets for the trestle is difficult in the area of the loading area.
  • the area of the high-rise side longitudinal members is advantageously used for supporting the support frame.
  • the locking of the support frame is arranged in the area of its support on the railroad car. This configuration also avoids the arrangement of additional elements over the loading platform for locking the support frame.
  • the support frame is locked by means of a pin arranged vertically and rotatably on the support frame, which, when the support frame is in place, projects into bores in the side longitudinal members of the railroad car, the pin having an eccentric at its downwardly projecting end, which at locked pin is pivoted under the side member.
  • the pin can be rotated by means of a handle.
  • the pin can be rotated via levers and push rods which are acted upon by a spring, a free end of a first lever, which is fixedly arranged on a vertical shaft rotatably mounted on the support frame, in the working area of the support frame Tractor protrudes, wherein the lever is pivoted by the receiving tractor and the pin is rotated in the release position and wherein the pin is rotated in the locking position by the spring via the lever and push rod when the support frame is removed. Due to the construction according to this embodiment, the support frame is locked and released automatically by the tractor receiving the support frame, without further manual actuation.
  • the support frame in the area of its support on the railway carriage carries a two-armed pivotable lever, which projects with its one end provided with a nose into cutouts in the side longitudinal members, the other end of the lever being articulated with a push rod acted upon by a spring, pivotable backdrop about a vertical axis and the backdrop is pivotally actuated by push rods of the tractor, the lever in the locking or release position.
  • the support frame is also locked or unlocked again from the tractor, the push rods of the tractor being actuated, for example, by hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders controlled by the tractor.
  • a further exemplary embodiment for the locking of the support frame is conceivable, the support frame in the region of its support on the railway wagons each carrying a two-armed pivotable lever, which projects at its one end provided with a nose into cutouts in the side longitudinal members, the other end of the Lever is articulated via an elastic intermediate member to one end of another two-armed lever pivotally mounted on the support frame, the other end of which is pivoted under the support surface of the support frame when the support frame is raised.
  • a securing latch is pivotably arranged on the support frame against the force of a spring, the securing latch fixing the upwardly projecting end of the first lever via cooperating sliding surfaces by the force of the spring in the release position or locking position.
  • the support bracket shown in the drawing is designed in the form of a portal. It is irrelevant whether the portal is designed with obliquely or vertically downward supports. It is also conceivable that the support frame is designed in the form of a crossmember.
  • the support frame consists of a central support plate 1 which has two supports 2, which point obliquely downwards on both sides of its transverse center.
  • Pins 4 are arranged vertically downward on the supports 2 on their horizontal support surface 3.
  • the supports 2 of the trestle sit with their support surface 3 on corresponding bends 5 of the side long beams 6 of the railroad car.
  • holes are arranged at intervals for receiving the pin 4.
  • guides 7 are provided for centering the trestle on the railway carriage on the outer sides facing the side long beams.
  • a fifth wheel 8 is arranged which points in the longitudinal direction of the support bracket.
  • a vertically downward-pointing kingpin 9 is fixedly arranged centrally under the fifth wheel 8 on the underside of the support plate 1 of the support frame.
  • a stop 10 is fastened on the underside of the saddle plate 1 at a distance, which prevents the support frame from twisting in the saddled state.
  • a lock for the trestle is attached to the supports 2 of the trestle.
  • this locking device consists of a vertically and rotatably arranged pin 12 which, with its end pointing downward, projects into a bore 13 in the side long beam 6.
  • the pin 12 is provided at this end with an eccentric 14, which engages under the side long beam 6 in the locked state.
  • the pin 12 is rotated by a handle 15 at its upper end.
  • the support frame is also locked via a pin 17 which is mounted vertically and rotatably on the support frame and at the end of which projects downward there is also an eccentric 18 which projects into the side long beam 6.
  • the pin 17 is rotated via levers 18 and 19, and an intermediate connecting rod 20, which is articulated to the levers 18 and 19.
  • a spring 21 acts on the lever system in the closed position of the pin 17.
  • the lever 19 is fastened to a shaft 22 which is rotatably mounted vertically in the support frame and which firmly carries a further lever 23 which points with its free end towards the transverse center of the support frame into the working area of the tractor protrudes.
  • the support frame When the support frame is saddled onto the tractor, it swivels the lever 23 with the carrying device of its fifth wheel coupling and, via this, the shaft 22, the lever 19, the push rod 20, the lever 18 and the pin 17 in the release position.
  • the support frame can now be moved with the semi-trailer onto the railroad car and lowered onto the side frame 6 with its pin 4.
  • the tractor After unlocking the fifth wheel coupling of the tractor from the kingpin 9 of the trestle, the tractor moves out of the trestle.
  • the lever system of the support bracket is pivoted by the force of the spring 21 and the eccentric 18 of the pin 17 is rotated in the closed position.
  • a two-armed pivotable lever 25 is mounted on the supports 2 of the support frame in the region of its support on the railroad car between two supports, which is provided with a nose 26 on its one end projecting into the side long beam 6 .
  • the other end of the lever 25 is articulated to a push rod 27, the other end of which is also articulated to a link 28.
  • the backdrop 28 is pivotally mounted on the support bracket about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
  • the link 28 is acted upon by a spring cylinder 29 which is articulated at one end on the support frame and at the other end articulated on the link 28. At the end on its end opposite the spring cylinder 29, the link 28 is provided with a curved guide surface 30.
  • the locking is actuated by two push rods 31, which are arranged on the right and left of the longitudinal axis of the tractor and are actuated by means of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders.
  • Each push rod 31, actuated by the tractor acts against the guide surface 30 of the link 28.
  • the link 28 is pivoted against the force of the spring cylinder 29 and actuates the lever 25 in the open or closed position via the push rod 27. In the end positions, the link 28 is acted upon by the force of the spring cylinder 29 so that no automatic unlocking can take place.
  • the lock also consists of a two-armed lever 33 which is pivotable between the supports 2 of the support bocks is mounted on this.
  • the lever 33 protrudes with its one end, which is provided with a lug 34, into cutouts in the side long beam 6.
  • a push rod 35 is articulated on the lever 33, into which an elastic intermediate member 36 is interposed.
  • the push rod 35 is connected in an articulated manner to one end of a two-armed lever 37, which is also pivotably mounted on the supports 2 of the support frame.
  • the free end of the lever 37 is curved in a crescent shape and, when the support frame is raised, projects under the support surfaces 3 of the support frame.
  • a safety latch 38 is further arranged pivotably against the force of a spring 39 for each lever 33.
  • the safety latch 38 is provided with a nose 40 which, in the locking position of the lever 33, lies in front of its upwardly projecting free end and in the release position of the lever 33 behind its upwardly projecting free end, and the lever 33 in each case by the force of the spring 39 one of these end positions is blocked.
  • the lever 33 Via the push rod 35, the lever 33, which raises the safety latch 38, is also pivoted and locked via its nose 34 to the support frame on the railroad car.
  • the nose 40 of the safety latch 38 blocks the lever 33 in this locking position.
