Abstract

В заявке описан способ постполимеризации для модификации молекулярно-массового распределения полимера, характеризующегося мономодальным молекулярно-массовым распределением, причем молекулярная масса этого полимера, когда его подвергают перемешиванию с высокой сдвиговой деформацией в присутствии инициатора свободнорадикальной полимеризации, обычно уменьшается, и получают полимер, обладающий бимодальным молекулярно-массовым распределением. Этот способ включает: (а) нагревание смеси полимера, полиненасыщенного сшивающего агента и необязательно инициатора свободнорадикальной полимеризации с получением однородной смеси и (б) перемешивание этой смеси в условиях высокой сдвиговой деформации до образования полимера, обладающего бимодальным молекулярно-массовым распределением. В более предпочтительном варианте перемешивание со сдвиговой деформацией проводят в присутствии инициатора свободнорадикальной полимеризации, такого как органическая перекись, а сшивающим агентом служит бифункциональное соединение, содержащее диаллиловую, дивиниловую или диэтиленовую ненасыщенную связь. В результате осуществления такого способа получают полимеры, характеризующиеся бимодальным молекулярно-массовым распределением вследствие реакции сочетания некоторой части полимерных цепей, деструктированных свободными радикалами, с присоединением посредством насыщенной функциональной группы сшивающего агента. Высокомолекулярные компоненты при бимодальном распределении придают полимеру более высокую прочность расплава, а более низкомолекулярные компоненты улучшают перерабатываемость и свойства
