Description

Gegenstand des Patents 925 192 ist die Verwendung organischer Nitroverbindungen und öllöslicher Di- bzw. Polysulfide von. Xanthogenate! als Zusätze zu Schmiermitteln auf Mineralölbasis. Es ist bereits bekannt, sulfuriert« Ester von Fettsäuren mit einwertigen Alkoholen als Hochdrudisehrniermiittelzuisätze zu verwenden.
Es wurde gefunden, daß auch die Verwendung von organischen Nitroverbindungen und, an Stelle Öl-löslicher Di- bzw. Polysulfide von Xanthogenaten, öllöslichen oder durch Lösuragsvermittler in Lösung zu bringenden, mit Schwefel umgesetzten Estern ungesättigter Carbonsäuren mit ein- oder zweiwertigen Alkoholen als Zusätze zu Schmiermitteln auf der Basis von natürlichen und synthetischen Mineralölen und -fetten eine ganz wesentliche Verbesserung ihrer Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit bewirkt.
Geeignete organische Nitroverbindungen sind im Patent 925 192 beschrieben.
Die mit Schwefel umgesetzten Ester ungesättigter Carbonsäuren mit ein- oder zweiwertigen Alkoholen werden' zweckmäßig nach den aus den USA.-Patentsehriften 2 179 060 bis 2 179 066 bekannten Verfahren durch Behandeln der Ester mit Schwefel bei erhöhter Temperatur hergestellt. Geeignete Ester sind z. B. Acryl'säureäthylester, Crotonsäurebutylester, Crotonsäureallylester, die Äthyl-, Propyl-, Butyl-, Amyl-, Octyl-, Glykol-, Propylenglykol-, Butylenglykol-, Äthyldiäthylenglykol- und Dicyclopentadienolester der ölsäure, Linolsäure, Linolensäure.
Geeignete Lösungsverinittler sind z. B. 2-Äthylhexanol, 2-Äthyl-i, 34iexandiol, 2-Methyl-pentandiol-1,4, Diiäthylenglykolmonoäthyläther^iäthylenglykolmonobutyläther.
Die im einzelnen anzuwenden. Mengen an Nitroverbindungen, und mit Schwefel umgesetzten Estern ungesättigter Carbonsäuren und die jeweils zu verwendenden Verbindungen richten sich nach dem Verwendungszweck. Im allgemeinen beträgt der Anteil· der Nitroverbindungen nur einen Bruchteil der verwendeten, mit Schwefel umgesetzten' Ester ungesättigter Carbonsäuren (bis zu io Gewichtsprozent derselben), von denen, je nach der geforderten Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit, im allgemeinen Mengen zwischen etwa 0,5 und 10 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf das reine Schmiermittel, in Betracht kommen.
Die neuen, Nitroverbindungen und mit Schwefel umgesetzte Ester ungesättigter Carbonsäuren enthaltenden Schmiermittel zeigen gegenüber/Metallen bei normalen Temperaturen keine, bed erhöhten Temperaturen und längeren! Einwirkungszeiten nur geringfügige, praktisch nicht ins Gewicht fallende Korrosionserscheinungen. Den durch die erwähnten Zusätze verbesserten Schmiermitteln können noch andere Mittel zur Verbesserung der Hoehdruckschmierfähigkeit sowie Viskositätsiverbesserer, Stockpunktsieroiedriger, Schaumverhinderer und gegebenenfalls Antioxydationsmittel zugesetzt werden.
Überprüft man die Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit auf dem allgemein gebräuchlichen Vierkugelapparat (VKA) nach der in »Öl und Kohle«, 1944, S. 19 bis 23, beschriebenen Methode, so sind bei Zusatz von beispielsweise 0,1 bis 0,25 Gewichtsprozent organischer Nitroverbindungen zusammen mit 1 bis 2,5 Gewichtsprozent an mit Schwefel umgesetzten Estern ungesättigter Carbonsäuren. "Belasttungen von 400 bis über 1000 kg möglich, bevor ein Verschweißen der Kugeln eintritt. Diese Verbesserung der Hochdruckschmierfähigikeit geht über die Summenwirkung der einzelnen Komponenten weit hinaus.
Es ist bereits vorgeschlagen worden, Schwefel enthaltende Verbindungen, wie z. B. geschwefelte fette Öle, Aryknerfcaptane, Alkylsulifide usw., zusammen mit Nitroverbindungen als Zusätze für Schmiermittel zu verwenden. Die mit den .bekannten Zusätzen, wie z. B. 1 Teil Dilaurylidisulfid im Gemisch mit 2Is Teilen et-Nitronaphithalin, hergestellten Schmiermittel ergeben bei der Prüfung auf dem Vierkugelapparat jedoch höchstens VKA-Zahlen von 200 bis 250. Demgegenüber war nicht vorauszusehen, daß Zusätze, die als Schwefelverbindungen die bislang noch nicht für diesen Zweck verwendeten öllöslichen oder durch Lösiungsivermittler in Lösung zu bringenden, mit Schwefel· umgesetzten Ester ungesättigter Carbonsäure mit ein1- oder mehrwertigen Alkoholen enthalten, derartig überlegene VKA-Zahlen ergeben.
Beispiel
Der Zusatz von 3 Gewichtsprozent eines mit Schwefel bei . erhöhter Temperatur umgesetzten Crotonsäurebutylesters (Schwefelwert 2.8,8%) zu einem Getriebeöl mit einer VKA-Zahl unter 180
(Dichte d— = 0,9320, Viskosität bei 200 = 2260E, 4
bei 5O°!=22;5°E, Viskositätsindex = 13, Stockpunkt —13°) läßt die VKA-Zahl auf 500 ansteigen. Bei Zusatz von 3 Gewichtsprozent mit Schwefel behandeltem Crotonsäurebutylester, 0,25 Gewichtsiprozent /5-Dinitrophenol und 1,5 Gewichtsprozent Diäthyleniglykolmionobutyläther als Lösungsvermittler zum Getriebeöl erhöht sich die VKA-Zahl auf 800.

    Weitere Ausbildung des Gegenstandes des Patents 925 192, gekennzeichnet durch die Verwendung von öllöslichen oder durch Lösungsver- ■ mittler in Lösung zu 'bringenden, mit Schwefel umgesetzten Estern ungesättigter Carbonsäure mit ein- oder mehrwertigen Alkoholen neben organischen Nitroverbindungen1 als Zusätze für Schmiermittel.
