- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Motorenölzusammensetzung, und insbesondere eine Motorenöl Zusammensetzung, die sich als Schmieröl für Benzinmotoren, Dieselmotoren u.ä. eignet.
- Wegen des wachsenden Interesses an Energiesparmaßnahmen, um Ölversorgungsengpässe zu vermeiden, wurde die Forschung nach einem kraftstoffsparenden Schmieröl für einen Verbrennungsmotor in letzter Zeit intensiviert. Als Maßnahmen zur Einsparung von Kraftstoff durch die Verwendung von Schmieröl zwecks Vermeidung von Engpässen werden nun in Geschäftskreisen die folgenden Maßnahmen in Betracht gezogen: (a) Herabsetzen der Viskosität von Schmieröl, was mit der Absicht verbunden ist, den Reibungsverlust des Motors unter hydrodynamischen Schmierbedingungen zu verringern, und (b) Zugabe von Keibungsreduktionsmitteln, was der Herabsetzung des Motorreibungsverlustes bei gemischter und Grenzflächenschmierung dienen soll.
- Die Zugabe von Reibungsmodifikationsmitteln zu Schmieröl ist notwendig, vor allem bei dem neuesten kraftstoffsparenden Schmieröl, und viele Verbindungen haben sich bereits als für diesen Zweck geeignet herausgestellt. Es wurde jedoch beobachtet, daß, obwohl diese Verbindungen eine hohe Kraftstoffsparwirkung auf das frische Schmieröl haben, diese Wirkung in älterem Schmieröl aufgrund des Abbaus während des Motorenbetriebs nach und nach verloren geht. Obwohl bisher viele Antioxidationsmittel in weitem Ausmaß verwendet worden sind und sie sich in gewissem Ausmaß als wirksam beim Verhindern des Abbaus erwiesen haben, führten diese Antioxidationsmittel zu keinen zufriedenstellenden Ergebnissen in bezug auf die Schmierleistung.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung basiert auf der Feststellung, daß durch Kombinieren eines spezifischen überbasischen metallischen Detergens, welches ein Erdalkalimetall enthält, das durch Verwendung von Borsäure oder Borsäureanhydrid als Reaktionsmittel erhalten wird, mit einer Molybdänverbindung als Reibungs-Modifikationsmittel und einem Antioxidationsmittel, wie nachstehend definiert,eine ausgezeichnete kraftstoffsparende Wirkung erzielt werden kann.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung stellt daher eine Motorenölzusammensetzung mit einer spezifischen Kombination von Schmieröladditiven und einer ausgezeichneten kraftstoffsparenden Wirkung über einen langen Zeitraum zur Verfügung.
- Es ist eine Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, eine kraftstoffsparende Motorenölzusammensetzung mit einem größeren Anteil eines Basisschmieröls und als wesentlichen Komponenten
- (a) ca. 0,01 bis 30 Gewichtsprozent eines überbasischen öllöslichen Metallsalzes, welches das Reaktionsprodukt eines öllöslichen Metallsalzes mit einem Erdalkalimetalloxid oder - hydroxid in Gegenwart von Borsäure oder Borsäureanhydrid ist,
- (b) ca. 0,01 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent eines Reibungsmodifikationsmittels auf der Basis einer Molybdänverbindung, und
- (c) ca. 0,01 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent eines Antioxidationsmittels, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Antioxidationsmitteln von Phenoltyp, Amintyp, Schwefeltyp, Zinkthiophosphattyp und Phenothiazintyp,
- bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge der Zusammensetzung, zur Verfügung zu stellen.
- Die EP-A-0 317 354 offenbart eine verbesserte Schmierölzusammensetzung mit verstärkter Kraftstoffsparwirkung, welche 4 wesentliche Komponenten A bis D umfaßt.
- Die Komponente A besteht aus einer Mischung eines überbasischen Calcium-Detergens-Inhibitors und eines überbasischen Magnesium- Detergens-Inhibitors, wobei solche überbasischen Produkte durch Modifizieren (carbonating) von völlig neutralisierten Sulfon- und/oder Carbonsäuren mit CO&sub2; hergestellt werden. Zum Neutralisierensolcher Säuren kann u.a. Mg-Borat eingesetzt werden.
- Nachstehend wird jedoch gezeigt, daß solche modifizierten überbasischen Produkte sich nicht im Zusammenhang mit vorliegender Erfindung einsetzen lassen.
- Ferner offenbart die DE-OS 2 028 703 Antioxidationsmittelmischungen für Schmieröle, die eine Öldispersion eines Metallborats, wie Ca(BO&sub2;)&sub2; und eine aromatische Verbindung mit einer OH-Gruppe oder einer Mercaptogruppe, die direkt an die aromatische Ringstruktur gebunden sind, umfassen.
- Bevorzugt wird das Metallborat durch Umsetzen eines Metallalkoholats mit einer Borsäure, einem Anhydrid oder einem Ester einer solchen Säure hergestellt.
- Als Basisschmieröle der vorliegenden Erfindung lassen sich entweder Mineralöle oder synthetische Öle einsetzen. Paraffinische oder naphthenische Basisschmieröle sind akzeptabel, wobei die besagten Basisöle durch ein Verfahren hergestellt werden, das hauptsächlich aus dem Abtoppen von Rohöl gefolgt von Vakuumdestillation, wobei eine Schmierölfraktion entsteht, und im Raffinieren der genannten Schmierölfraktion durch ein Verfahren, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Lösungsmittelentasphaltieren, Lösungsmittelextraktion, Hydrocracken, Lösungsmittelentparaffinieren, katalytischem Entparaffinieren, Hydrorefining, Schwefelsäurebehandlung und Tonbehandlung, besteht.
- Die synthetischen Öle der vorliegenden Erfindung umfassen α- Olefinpolymere (Polybutene, Octen-1-oligomere, Decen-1-oligomere u.ä.), Alkylbenzole, Alkylnaphthaline, Diester(Ditridecylglutarat, Di-2-ethylhexyladipat, Diisodecyladipat, Ditridecyladipat, Di-3-ethylhexylsebacat u. ä.), Polyolester (Trimethylolpropancaprilat, Trimethylolpropanpelargonat, Pentaerythrit-2-ethyl-hexanoat, Pentaerythritpelargonat u. ä.), Polyoxyalkylenglykol, Polyphenyläther, Siliconöle, Perfluoralkyläther und Mischungen davon.
- Die bevorzugte kinematische Viskosität dieser Basisschmieröle liegt im Bereich von ca. 3 bis 20.10&supmin;&sup6; m²/s bei 100ºC.
- Die überbasischen öllöslichen Metallsalze (a) der vorliegenden Erfindung werden durch Umsetzung eines öllöslichen Erdalkalimetallsalzes, wie eines öllöslichen Erdalkalimetallsulfonats, Erdalkalimetallsalicylats, Erdalkalimetallpheneats oder Erdalkalimetallphosphonats, mit einem Oxid oder Hydroxid eines Erdalkalimetalls in Gegenwart von Borsäure oder Borsäureanhydrid hergestellt. Von den öllöslichen Erdalkalimetallsalzen sind Erdalkalimetallsalicylate am meisten bevorzugt. Im allgemeinen haben die überbasischen öllöslichen Metallsalze (a) der vorliegenden Erfindung ein Gesamtbasizitätszahl von ca. 100 oder mehr und vorzugsweise von 170 oder mehr und eine Teilchengröße von weniger als ca. 0,1 um, und vorzugsweise von weniger als ca. 0,05 um.
- Für die Herstellung der überbasischen Metallsalze können verschiedene Verfahren angewendet werden. Beispielsweise ist ein Verfahren bekannt, welches das Umsetzen eines öllöslichen Metallsalzes, wie oben beschrieben, mit einem Hydroxid oder einem Oxid eines Erdalkalimetalls und Borsäure oder Borsäureanhydrid in Gegenwart von Wasser, einem Alkohol, wie Methanol, Ethanol, Propanol oder Butanol, und von einem Verdünnungsmittel, wie Benzol, Toluol oder Xylol, bei einer Temperatur von ca. 20 bis 200ºC über einen Zeitraum von 2 bis 8 Stunden, das Erhitzen der Mischung bei ca. 100 bis 200ºC zwecks Entfernung von Wasser, anschließend das Entfernen von Alkohol und, falls notwendig, das Entfernen des Verdünnungsmittels, zwecks Erhalt eines überbasischen Metallsalzes umfaßt. Die Reaktionsbedingungen lassen sich in Abhängigkeit von der Art des Rohmaterials, der Menge der Reaktanden usw. variieren. Typische, aus dem Stand der Technik bekannte Vorgehensweisen sind in den japanischen veröffentlichten Patentanmeldungen Nr. 116688/60 und 204298/61 offenbart.
- Ein solches gemäß vorliegender Erfindung hergestelltes überbasisches Erdalkalimetallsalz liegt in einer Menge von 0,01 bis 30 Gewichtsprozent, und vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 0,05 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge der Zusammensetzung vor.
- Ein Gehalt von weniger als 0,01 Gewichtsprozent ist nicht empfehlenswert, da sich dann die kraftstoffsparende Wirkung des überbasischen Metallsalzes nur unzureichend entfaltet, vor allem weil die Wirkung sich nicht über lange Zeit aufrechterhalten läßt. Umgekehrt bringt die Zugabe einer Menge von mehr als 30 Gewichtsprozent keine zusätzlichen Vorteile. Andere überbasische öllösliche Metallsalze, wie solche, die unter Verwendung von Erdalkalimetallcarbonaten hergestellt werden, führen nicht zu einer Motorenölzusammensetzung, die die kraftstoffsparende Wirkung während der ganzen Betriebszeit des Motors aufrechterhalten kann.
- Als Reibungsmodifikatoren (b) werden in vorliegender Erfindung Molybdänverbindungen eingesetzt.
- Typische Reibungsmodifikationsmittel umfassen Molybdänsulfiddiethyldithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddipropyldithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddibutyldithiophoshat, Molybdänsulfiddipentyldithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddihexyldithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddioctyldithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddidecyldithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddidodecyldithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddi(butylphenyl)dithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfiddi(nonylphenyl)dithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddiethyldithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddipropyldithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddibutyldithiophoshat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddipentyldithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddihexyldithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddioctyldithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddidecyldithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddidodecyldithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddi(butylphenyl)dithiophosphat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddi(nonylphenyl)dithiophosphat, Molybdänsulfid-diethyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddipropyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddibutyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddipentyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddihexyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddioctyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddidecyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddidodecyldithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddi(butylphenyl)dithiocarbamat, Molybdänsulfiddi(nonylphenyl)dithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddiethyldithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddipropyldithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddibutyldithiophoshat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddipentyldithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddihexyldithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddioctyldithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddidecyldithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddidodecyldithiocarbamat, Oxymolybdänsulfiddi(butylphenyl)dithiocarbamat und Oxymolybdänsulfiddi(nonylphenyl)dithiocarbamat,
- Der Gehalt an Reibungsmodifikatoren (b) liegt bei vorliegender Erfindung im Bereich von 0,01 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent, und vorzugsweise von 0,05 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge der Zusammensetzung.
- Ein Gehalt von weniger als 0,01 Gewichtsprozent ist nicht empfehlenswert, da sich dann die Reibungsreduktions-Wirkung des überbasischen Metallsalzes nur unzureichend entfaltet. Umgekehrt bringt die Zugabe einer Menge von mehr als 5 Gewichtsprozent keine zusätzlichen Vorteile.
- Als Antioxidationsmittel (c) werden solche vom Phenoltyp, Amintyp, Schwefeltyp, Zinkthiophosphattyp und Phenothiazintyp eingesetzt.
- Typischerweise umfassen sie Diphenylamin, p,p'-Dioctyldiphenylamin , p,p'-Dinonyldiphenylamin, p,p' Didodecyldiphenylamin , Phenyl-α-naphthylamin, p-Octylpenyl- α -naphthylamin , p-Nonylphenylα-naphthylamin , p-Dodecylphenyl- α -naphthylamin, 2,6-Di-tert.-butylphenol, 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-p-cresol, 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-ethylphenol, 2,2'-Methylen -bis(4- methyl-6-tert.-butylphenol), 2,2'-Methylen -bis(4-ethyl-6- tert.-butylphenol), 4,4'-Methylen -bis (2,6-di-tert.- butylphenol), 4,4'-Bis (2,6-di-tert.-butylphenol), 4,4'Thiobis(6-tert.-butyl-o-cresol), Zinkdialkyldithiophosphat , Phenotiazin,
- und Mischungen davon.
- Der Gehalt an Antioxidationsmittel (c) der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt im Bereich von 0,01 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent, und vorzugsweise im Bereich von 0,1 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge der Zusammensetzung.
- Ein Gehalt von weniger als 0,1 Gewichtsprozent ist nicht empfehlenswert, da sich die Antioxidationswirkung nur über kurze Zeit aufrechterhalten läßt. Umgekehrt bringt die Zugabe einer Menge von mehr als 5 Gewichtsprozent keine zusätzlichen Vorteile.
- In vorliegender Erfindung können die folgenden herkömmlichen Schmiermitteladditive zusätzlich eingesetzt werden, um die Leistung der vorliegenden Zusammensetzung, falls notwendig, weiter zu verbessern, sofern sie dem Ziel der vorliegenden Erfindung dienen. Beispiele für diese Additive umfassen Hochdruckadditive, wie Tricresylphosphat, Triphenylphosphat, Zinkdithiophosphate; Rostverhinderungsmittel, wie Erdölsulfonate, Dinonylnaphthalinsulfonate u.a.; Metalldesaktivierungsmittel, wie Benzotriazol u.ä.; Detergentien auf Metallbasis, wie Erdalkalimetallsulfonate, Erdalkalimetallsalicylate, Erdalkalimetallpheneate, Erdalkalimetallphosphonate u.ä.; aschefreie Dispersionsmittel, wie Succinimid, Bernsteinsäureester, Benzylamin u.ä.; Entschäumer, wie Siliconöle u.ä.; Viskositätsindexverbesserungsmittel und Pourpointerniedrigungsmittel, wie Polymethacrylate, Polyisobutylene und Polystyrole u.ä.; und Mischungen davon.
- Im allgemeinen liegt der Gehalt an Viskositätsindexverbesserungsmitteln im Bereich von ca. 1 bis 30 Gewichtsprozent, der Gehalt an Entschäumungsmittel liegt im Bereich von ca. 0,0005 bis 1 Gewichtsprozent, der Gehalt an Metalldesaktivatoren liegt im Bereich von ca. 0,005 bis 1 Gewichtsprozent, und weitere Additive werden in Mengen von ca. 0,1 bis 15 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge der Zusammensetzung, eingesetzt.
- Die Motorenölzusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung eignen sich als Zweitakt- und Viertakt-Benzinmotorenöle, als Dieselmotorenöle bei Landfahrzeugen, als Dieselmotorenöle bei Wasserfahrzeugen ü.a.
- Die Vorteile der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen werden nachstehend detailliert anhand der folgenden Beispiele dargestellt, der Bereich der vorliegenden Erfindung ist jedoch nicht auf diese Beispiele beschränkt.
- Gemäß den Angaben in Tabelle 1 werden eine erfindungsgemäße Motorenölzusammensetzung und zwei Vergleichszusammensetzungen hergestellt. Mittels des folgenden Verfahrens werden Leistungstests in bezug auf diese Zusammensetzungen durchgeführt.
- Der LFW-Reibungstest wird sowohl mit Proben, die durch Oxidation abgebaut sind, als auch mit frisch hergestellten Proben durchgeführt. Die Testbedingungen sind wie folgt: Belastung Geschwindigkeit Öltemperatur
- Die durch Oxidation abgebauten Proben werden durch Oxidieren neuer Probeöle unter folgenden Bedingungen auf der Basis des "Verfahrens zum Testen der Oxidationsstabilität eines Schmieröls", vorgeschrieben durch JIS K 2514 3.1 hergestellt:
- Temperatur: 150ºC
- Dauer: 72 Stunden
- In Tabelle 1 sind die Testergebnisse zusammengefaßt.
- Wie aus den Ergebnissen in Tabelle 1 ersichtlich ist, ist die Motorenölzusammensetzung nach vorliegender Erfindung als Motorenöl, welches aufgrund des synergistischen Effekts jeder Komponente die kraftstoffsparende Wirkung während des gesamten Betriebs aufrechterhält, ausgesprochen leistungsfähig.
- Im Gegensatz dazu steigt bei Verwendung der Zusammensetzungen der Vergleichsbeispiele 1 und 2, in welchen anstelle eines überbasischen öllöslichen Metallsalzes (a), das durch Verwendung eines Erdalkalimetallborats hergestellt worden ist, ein durch die Verwendung von Calciumcarbonat hergestelltes überbasisches öllösliches Metallsalz eingesetzt wird, oder bei Weglassen des Antioxidationsmittels (c) der vorliegenden Erfindung, der Reibungskoeffizient nach dem Oxidationsabbau in beiden Fällen an und die Zeit, während welcher die kraftstoffsparende Wirkung aufrechterhalten werden kann, ist in beiden Fällen kürzer, verglichen mit den Zusammensetzungen des Beispiels nach vorliegender Erfindung. Claims (5)
1. Eine Motorenölzusammensetzung, umfassend eine größere Menge
eines Basisschmieröls und als wesentliche Komponenten
a) 0,01 bis 30 Gewichtsprozent eines überbasischen öllöslichen
Metallsalzes, welches das Reaktionsprodukt eines öllöslichen
Metallsalzes mit einem Erdalkalimetalloxid oder -hydroxid in
Gegenwart von Borsäure oder Borsäureanhydrid ist,
(b) 0,01 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent eines
Reibungsmodifikationsmittels auf der Basis einer Molybdänverbindung, und
(c) 0,01 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent eines Antioxidationsmittels,
ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Antioxidationsmitteln
von Phenoltyp, Amintyp, Schwefeltyp, Zinkthiophosphattyp und
Phenothiazintyp,
bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge der Zusammensetzung.
2. Die Motorenölzusammensetzung wie in Anspruch 1 beansprucht,
in welcher das Erdalkalimetall Calcium ist und das
Antioxidationsmittel eine Kombination aus einem Antioxidationsmittel vom
Phenol- und vom Amintyp ist.
3. Die Motorenölzusammensetzung, wie in den Ansprüchen 1 oder 2
beansprucht, in welcher die Menge an überbasischem öllöslichem
Metallsalz 0,05 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent, die Menge an
Molybdänverbindung 0,05 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent und die Menge an
Antioxidationsmitteln 0,1 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent beträgt.
4. Die Motorenölzusammensetzung, wie in den Ansprüchen 1, 2
oder 3 beansprucht, in welcher das überbasische öllösliche
Metallsalz eine Basizitätszahl von mindestens ca. 100 und eine
Teilchengröße von weniger als ca. 0,1 um aufweist.
5. Die Motorenölzusammensetzung, wie in den Ansprüchen 1, 2
oder 3 beansprucht, in welcher das überbasische öllösliche
Metallsalz eine Basizitätszahl von mindestens 170 und eine
Teilchengröße von weniger als ca. 0,05 um aufweist.
