Description
- Weichmachungsmittel für Kautschukumwandlungsprodukte In neuerer Zeit erlangen Umwandlungsprodukte von Kautschuk und ähnlichen Stoffen größere Bedeutung in der Lackindustrie und Anstrichmittelindustrie als Filmbildner. Diese Umwandlung findet beispielsweise durch direktes Chlorieren oder auch lediglich Behandlung mit z. B. Chloriden von Aluminium, Zinn u. dgl. statt. Durch die Umwandlung büßt jedoch der Kautschuk seine typische Elastizität fast vollkommen ein, so daß die Produkte als solche zu harte Aufstriche geben, die überdies häufig matt sind und schlecht an der Unterlage haften.
- Es wurde nun gefunden, daß speziell derartige Umwandlungsprodukte bei ihrer Verwendung zu Lacken, Farben und sonstigen Anstrichmitteln in ihren Eigenschaften wesentlich verbessert werden, besonders hinsichtlich Elastizität, Glanz und Adhäsion, ohne daß die wertvollen Eigenschaften gemindert werden, wenn man Zusätze von Phenolithern mehrwertiger Alkohole macht, wobei z. B. ein Zusatz von 2o °%, gerechnet auf das I,rjautschtikabbauprodukt, ;anzuwenden ist. Es kommen hierbei die verschiedensten Phenoläther in Betracht, z. B. ganz oder teilweise mit Phenol, Kresol, Guajakol, Resorcin, Naphthol, p-Dioxydiphenylmethan u. dgl. m., veräthertes Glycerin oder andere mehrwertige Alkohole. Auch Derivate der Phenole, z. B. halogenierte Produkte, können mit mehrwertigen Alkoholen veräthert zur Anwendung kommen.
- Ein besonderer Vorzug dieser teils festen, teils schmierig weichen bis flüssigen Stoffe ist, daß sie auch die Alkalifestigkeit der Kautschukumwandlungsprodukte nicht herabmindern.
