Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schmierölzusammensetzung
für hohe Temperaturen, die enthält
- (A) einen Ester einer ungesättigten Fettsäure mit einem sterisch gehinderten Alkohol und
- (B) ein synthetisches Öl,
und deren Verwendung.
Bisher sind verschiedene synthetische Schmieröle als
Schmiermittel zur Anwendung bei hoher Temperatur bekannt.
Deren obere Temperaturgrenze liegt jedoch bei 170 bis
200°C. Wenn sie bei Temperaturen über 200°C verwendet
werden, treten verschiedene Probleme auf; beispielsweise
erfolgt eine heftige Verdampfung des Schmieröls, was zum
Verlust des in Schmierteilen vorhandenen Schmiermittels
führt oder wird die Schmierwirkung des Schmiermittels verringert
oder geht sie durch die Bildung von Schlamm verloren.
Daher sind übliche synthetische Schmieröle nicht
zur Anwendung bei derart hohen Temperaturen geeignet.
Für Schmiermittel, die in Motoren bzw. Maschinen vom adiabatischen
Typ, einem Superhochtemperatur-Gasturbinenlager,
einem Motor mit Turbobeschickung verwendet werden,
ist es notwendig, so hohe Temperaturen wie 200°C oder mehr,
insbesondere so hohe Temperaturen wie 300°C oder mehr auszuhalten.
Wesentliche Charakteristika, die für Schmiermittel
zur Verwendung bei derart hohen Temperaturen erforderlich
sind, sind: (1) der Verdampfungsverlust bei hohen
Temperaturen muß gering sein; (2) es darf sich bei hohen
Temperaturen kein Schlamm bilden; (3) die Stabilität gegen
die Oxidation muß gut sein; und (4) das Vermögen Belastungen
zu tragen muß groß sein.
Ein Ziel der Erfindung ist die Bereitstellung eines Schmiermittels
bzw. Gleitmittels, das frei von den vorstehend
beschriebenen Problemen ist und sämtliche zur Verwendung
bei hohen Temperaturen wie vorstehend beschrieben erforderlichen
Charakteristika besitzt.
Es hat sich gezeigt, daß das Ziel erreicht werden kann
durch Vermischen bzw. Compoundieren eines speziellen
gehinderten Esters und
synthetischen Öls.
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schmierölzusammensetzung
für hohe Temperaturen, die enthält:
als Komponente (A) 30 bis 95 Gew.-% eines Trimethylolpropan-
oder Trimethylolethanesters einer ungesättigten
Fettsäure mit 18 Kohlenstoffatomen und
als Komponente (B) 70 bis 5 Gew.-% eines
α-Olefinpolymeren mit einem Polymerisationsgrad von 20 bis 200 und mit einer kinematischen
Viskosität bei 100°C von 10×10-6 bis 50×10-6 m²/s oder eines Carboxylates.
Die zur Herstellung des gewünschten Esters durch Reaktion
des vorstehend beschriebenen gehinderten Alkohols verwendete
Säure sollte eine ungesättigte Fettsäure mit 18 Kohlenstoffatomen
sein. Andere Säuren können keine Schmierölzusammensetzung
mit den gewünschten Charakteristika ergeben.
Geeignete Beispiele für ungesättigte Fettsäuren mit 18
Kohlenstoffatomen umfassen Ölsäure, Linolsäure und Linolensäure.
Diese Säuren können in Form ihrer Derivate (z. B.
der Säurehalogenide) verwendet werden.
Geeignete Beispiele für die gehinderten Ester, die durch
Reaktion der gehinderten Alkohole mit ungesättigten Fettsäuren
mit 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie vorstehend beschrieben,
erhalten werden, umfassen Trimethylolpropantrioleat,
Trimethylolpropantrilinolat
und Trimethylolpropantrilinolenat.
Die Komponente (B) der erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölzusammensetzung
ist synthetisches
Öl.
Es können auch verschiedene Arten
synthetischer Öle verwendet werden. Beispiele für derartige
synthetische Öle umfassen α-Olefinpolymere mit einem Polymerisationsgrad
von etwa 20 bis 200, wie ein Ethylenhomopolymeres,
ein Propylenhomopolymeres, ein Butenhomopolymeres
und ein Ethylen-Propylen-Copolymeres
und Carboxylate. Diese
Carboxylate umfassen Ester, erhalten durch Reaktion zweibasischer
Säuren wie Adipinsäure, Azelainsäure und Sebazinsäure,
oder geradkettiger oder verzweigtkettiger gesättigter
Fettsäuren mit 5 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen, mit 2-Ethylhexanol,
sec.-Butanol, 3-Methylbutanol oder gehinderten
Alkoholen.
Die kinematische Viskosität des α-Olefinpolymeren wie
vorstehend beschrieben ist
bei 100°C
im Bereich von 10×10-6
bis 50×10-6 m²/s (10 bis 50 Centistokes).
Die erfindungsgemäße Schmierölzusammensetzung enthält als
Basis die Komponenten (A) und (B) wie vorstehend beschrieben.
Der Anteil der Komponente (A) in der Schmierölzusammensetzung
beträgt 30 bis 95 Gew.-% und vorzugsweise 50 bis
90 Gew.-% und der Anteil der Komponente (B) beträgt 70 bis
5 Gew.-% und vorzugsweise 50 bis 10 Gew.-%. Wenn der Anteil
der Komponente (A) zu gering ist, ist die erhaltene Zusammensetzung
bei hoher Temperatur nicht stabil, wohingegen
falls sie zu groß ist die Oxidationsstabilität verringert
wird.
Außer den Komponenten (A) und (B) können - falls notwendig -
verschiedene Zusätze zugefügt werden, wie Antioxidantien
vom Amin-, Phenol- und Dithiophosphorsäuretyp, Detergens-
Dispergiermittel vom Sulfonat-, Phenat- bzw. Phenete-,
Phosphonat- und Salicylattyp, Extremdruckmittel vom Schwefel/
Phosphor- und Phosphattyp und Lubrizitäts- bzw. Öligkeitsmittel.
Selbst wenn die erfindungsgemäße Schmierölzusammenseztung
bei so hohen Temperaturen wie 200°C oder mehr und insbesondere
etwa 300°C verwendet wird, ist ihr Verdampfungsverlust
gering und es wird weniger Schlamm gebildet. Darüber
hinaus weist die erfindungsgemäße Schmierölzusammensetzung
eine überlegene Oxidationsstabilität auf; auch ist ihr Vermögen
Belastungen zu tragen überlegen.
Die erfindungsgemäße Schmierölzusammensetzung ist daher
geeignet zum Schmieren von Maschinenelementen, die hohen
Temperaturen von 200°C oder mehr unterworfen werden, insbesondere
in Brennkraftmaschinen bzw. Innenverbrennungsmotoren;
das heißt, sie ist geeignet zur Verwendung als
Maschinen- bzw. Motorenöl.
Die folgenden Beispiele und Vergleichsversuche dienen zur
weiteren Erläuterung der Erfindung.
Es wurden Schmierölzusammensetzungen mit den in der Tabelle
angegebenen Formulierungen hergestellt und ihre physikalischen
Eigenschaften wurden gemessen. Die Ergebnisse sind
in der Tabelle aufgeführt.
Es wurden folgende physikalischen Eigenschaften untersucht.
Untersuchung der thermischen Stabilität:
Eine Probe von 30 g Schmieröl wurde in einen Becher, wie
in der Fig. 153 des JIS K 2839 beschrieben eingebracht und
3 Stunden bei 320°C gehalten. Am Ende dieser Zeit wurden
der Verdampfungsverlust und die Schlammbildung bestimmt.
Indiana-Rühroxidationstest:
Gemessen gemäß JIS K 2514.
Falex-Reibungstest des Vermögens Belastungen zu tragen:
Gemessen gemäß ASTM D 3233.
Claims (5)
1. Schmierölzusammensetzung für hohe Temperaturen, die
enthält
- (A) einen Ester einer ungesättigten Fettsäure mit einem sterisch gehinderten Alkohol und
- (B) ein synthetisches Öl,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie enthält:
als Komponente (A) 30 bis 95 Gew.-% eines Trimethylolpropan-
oder Trimethylolethanesters einer ungesättigten
Fettsäure mit 18 Kohlenstoffatomen und
als Komponente (B) 70 bis 5 Gew.-% eines α-Olefinpolymeren
mit einem Polymerisationsgrad von 20 bis
200 und mit einer kinematischen Viskosität bei 100°C von
10×10-6 bis 50×10-6 m²/s oder eines Carboxylates.
2. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, in der die
ungesättigte Fettsäure Ölsäure, Linolsäure oder
Linolensäure ist.
3. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, in der
der Ester Trimethylolpropantrioleat, Trimethylolpropantrilinolat
oder Trimethylolpropantrilinolenat
ist.
4. Verwendung der Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1 als Maschinenöl.
