Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は高温用潤滑剤に関し、詳しくは200°C以上
の高温にも耐えうる特にエンジンオイル等として有効な
高温用潤滑剤に関する。
従来、高温用潤滑剤としてはシリコーン系合成力が有効
に使用されており、高温での蒸発損失が少ないことが実
証されている。しかし、これら従来のシリコーン系合成
油は、耐荷重能が著しく低く、清浄性など潤滑剤として
の性能を有しない、あるし・はこの欠点を袖強し、他の
性能を付加するために潤滑用の各種添加剤を加えても溶
解しないなど犬きフ(欠点があり実用に供することがで
きないものであった。
一方、最近実用化されつつある断熱型エンジン用潤滑剤
、超高温ガスタービン軸受油、ターボチャージャー付エ
ンジン用1滑剤などでは、従来公知の高温用+’l■滑
剤が上限使用可能温度170〜200″Cであるのに対
して、200 ”C以上の温度に耐えうろことが要求さ
れている。
本発明者は、シリコーン系合成油の上述した欠点を克服
すると共に、耐高温性のすぐれたdIV?Vf剤を開発
すべく鋭意研究を重ねた。その結果、特定のシリコーン
系合成油を用い、これにヒンダードアルコールのエステ
ルを加えることによって目的とする問清剤が得られるこ
とを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。すなわち本発
明は、 (イ)繰返し単位が (式中、nlは炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、几2は炭素
数1〜3のアルキル基または水素原子を示す。) で表わされ、かつ100″Cの動粘度が5〜300CS
 jであるアリールアルキルシリコーン25〜98重量
% および CB) ヒフ ター )−アルコールド脂肪酸とのエス
テ/lz75〜2耳耽% からなることをtn徴とする高瀞]用州滑剤を提供する
ものである。
本発明のi1M?f’を剤の(屓成分は上述の如く繰返
し単位が一般式〔IDで表わされるアリールアルキルシ
リコーンである。ここで一般式[]中のR1はメチル基
、エチル基、プロピル基、ブチル基等の炭素数1〜6の
アルキル基であり、またアリール基に結合している几2
は水素原子あるいはメチル基、エチル基、プロピル基の
炭素数1〜3のアルキル基であって、その結合位置は。
−、rrl−、p−位のいずれでもよい。さらにこの(
4)成分は100″Cにおける動粘度が5〜300 c
st、好ましくは10〜100 cstのものでなけれ
ばならな(・。繰返し単位が上記一般式〔IDで表わせ
ないシリコーンあるいは一般式[1)で表わせるもので
あっても動粘度が上記範囲外のシリコーンでは、耐熱性
が充分でない、潤滑性能に劣る、あるいは各種潤滑用添
加剤の溶解能が充分でないなどの欠点がある。それに対
し、繰返し単位が一般式mで表わされ、がつ動粘度が手
記範囲にある(A)成分であるアリールアルキルシリコ
ーンを用いれば、前述の如き欠点は解消される。この(
4)成分であるアリールアルキルシリコーンとしては様
々なものをあげることができるが、具体的にはフェニル
メチルシリコーン。
メチルフェニルメチルシリコーン、エチルフェニルメチ
ルシリコーン、フェニルエチルシリコーン。
フェニルグロピルシリコーン、フェニルブチルシリコー
ン、プロピルフェニルヘキシルシリコーンなどをあげる
ことができる。
次に本発明の4゛8滑剤のω)成分は、前述の如くヒン
ダードアルコールと脂肪酸とのエステルである。
ここでヒンダードアルコールとしては様々なものがある
が、例えば 一般式     C1l、几8 11、’cH2−c −an9TL’    −−−[
IDC工1゜R5 (式中、R3〜几6はそれぞれ水素原子、水酸基。
水酸基含有アルキル基ある℃・はアルキル基を示し、か
つ少なくとも一つは水酸基あるいは水酸基含有アルキ)
7基である。) で表ワサれるヒンダードアルコールをあげることができ
、このうち水酸基含有アルキル基およびアルキル基は炭
素数1〜3のものが好ましい。具体的にはトリメチロー
ルプロパン、  l−リメチロールエタン、ペンクエリ
スリトール、ネオペンチルグリコール、2−メチル−2
−プロピル−1,3−プロパンジオールなどの多価アル
コールを好適なものとしてあげることができる。また上
記一般式〔11〕で表わされるもののほか、ジペンタエ
リスリトールなどの化合物も含まれる。
一方、上記ヒンダードアルコールとエステルを形成する
脂肪酸としては様々なものがあり、エステルを形成しう
るものであれば特に制限はなく適宜定めればよい。具体
的には炭素数5〜30の脂肪酸、例えばカプリル酸、カ
プリン酸、ラウリン酸、ミリスチン酸、パルミチン酸、
ステアリン酸。
アラキン酸、ベヘニン酸などの飽和直鎖脂肪酸とそれら
に対応する分枝脂肪酸および不飽和脂肪酸゛。
さらに7ジビン酸、セパチン散、アゼライン酸等の二塩
基酸、オレイン酸等の不飽和脂肪酸の重合体であるダイ
マー酸ブよどがあり、そのうちオレイン酸、リノール酸
などの不飽和脂肪酸およびイソステアリン「1り等の分
校脂肪酸が好ましい。なおこれらの脂肪酸はその誘梼体
(例えば酸)・ライドなど)の形で使用してもよく、要
するに上記ヒンダードアルコールとエステルを形成でき
るものであればよい。
本発明のW’V滑剤の(J3)成分は上記のヒンダード
アルコールと脂肪酸より形成されるエステルであるが、
そのうち100°Cにおける動粘度が5cst以上、と
りわけ8〜50 cstのエステル(ヒンダードエステ
ル)が好適に利用されろ。またこのCB)成分け(A)
、(T3)成分の合泪量の2〜75重量%、好ましくは
、10〜30重景%の重量で配合すべきである。CB>
成分の配合割合が2重量%未満では添加効果が充分に発
揮されず、逆に75重量%を越えると得られる潤滑剤の
酸化安定性が低下するという問題が生ずる。
本発明のT1!!!滑剤は、基本的にはCA) 、 (
J3)成分を配合してなるものであるが、さらに必要に
応じて各種添加剤、例えばアミン系、フェノール系、ジ
チオリン酸系の酸化防止剤、スルフォネート系、フイネ
ート系、ホスホネート系、サリチレート系の清浄分赦剤
、あるいは硫黄−リン系、リン酸エステル系の極圧剤、
油性剤ブLどを適宜加えることもできる。
かくして得られる本発明の醤滑剤は、200℃以−1−
1特に300°C前後でも蒸発量が少なく、またスラッ
ジの発生もない。さらに各種添加剤の溶フリ了性、貯蔵
安定性が良く、耐荷重能にもすぐれている。
従って本発明の潤滑剤は、200°C以上の高温に1よ
る高温機械袈素、特に内作機関用の1m剤、すなわちエ
ンジンオイルとして好適に利用し、うるものである。
次に本発明を実施例によりさらに詳しく説明する。
実施例1〜12および比較例1〜6 (A)成分、(B)成分として所定の化合物を配合し、
さらに各種添加剤を加えて潤滑剤を調製1.、これにつ
いて杆々な物性評価を行なった。結果を第1表に示す。
なおここで行なった評価は次の如き方法によ−っだ。
熱安定度試験 Jl[S K 2839の図−153に規定されている
ビーカーに試料30gを入れ、320°Cにて3時間保
持し、蒸発減量、スラッジの有無を測定 し プこ 。
インディアナスターリング試験 、TIS K 2514に準拠して行なった。
ファレツクス耐荷重能試験 ASTM 1) 3233に準拠して行なった。
