Description
Die neueren Motoren stellen an die zu verwendenden Schmiermittel
erhöhte Anforderungen. Bisher wurden verschiedene Zusatzmittel
zu den Schmierölen zugesetzt, um Eigenschaften, wie den Viskositätsindex
und die Dispergierfähigkeit, zu verbessern. Eines dieser
Zusatzmittel zur Verbesserung des Viskositätsindex ist ein Zweiblockcopolymerisat
der allgemeinen Formel A-B, in der A Styrol
und B hydriertes Isopren ist (vgl. US-PS 37 63 044 und 37 72 196).
Eine beträchtliche Kostenersparnis erreicht man, wenn man nur
ein einziges Zusatzmittel verwendet, das jedoch mehrere der
Eigenschaften des Schmiermittels verbessert. Beim Versuch, mehr
als eine Eigenschaft des Schmiermittels zu verbessern, muß man
jedoch beachten, daß andere Eigenschaften nicht verschlechtert
werden. So wurden z. B. gemäß der US-PS 38 64 268 durch Oxydation
polare Gruppen in die Hauptpolymerkette eingeführt, was jedoch
die Stabilität des Schmiermittels verringert, da es nun für den
oxidativen Abbau anfälliger ist.
Aufgabe der Erfindung war es daher, ein aschefreies, öllösliches
Zusatzmittel mit verbesserten Eigenschaften, wie Dispergierfähigkeit
und Viskositätsindex, zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist somit ein öllösliches Produkt, das
dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß es durch Umsetzen von
- a) einem selektiv hydrierten Blockcopolymerisat der Formel A-B, in der A ein Monoalkenylarenpolymerisat mit einem durchschnittlichen Molekulargewicht von etwa 25 000 bis etwa 50 000 und B ein Polymerisat eines konjugierten Diens mit 4 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 35 000 bis etwa 100 000 ist, in dem etwa 75% bis etwa 98% der aliphatischen ungesättigten Bindungen hydriert und nicht über etwa 20% der aromatischen Doppelbindungen reduziert worden sind, mit Maleinsäureanhydrid bei einer Temperatur von etwa 180 bis 250°C in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels und
- b) Umsetzen des entstandenen Produkts mit einem Amin mit 1 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen und 1 bis 8 Stickstoffatomen und/oder mit einem Alkanpolyol mit mindestens 2 Hydroxylgruppen erhalten worden ist.
Für das erfindungsgemäße Produkt ist es wesentlich, daß das
Molekulargewicht des Blockcopolymerisats innerhalb der angegebenen
Werte liegt, damit das Endprodukt einen verbesserten
Viskositätsindex aufweist. Ein zu niedriges Molekulargewicht
bedingt eine zu geringe Verbesserung des Viskositätsindex, wogegen
ein zu hohes Molekulargewicht die Stabilität wegen übermäßiger
Scherung im Motor vermindert. Außerdem ist es wichtig, daß die
selektive Hydrierung des Polymerisats innerhalb der engen Grenzen
bleibt. Diese selektive Hydrierung ist aus zwei Gründen kritisch:
Erstens ist es wichtig, soviel wie möglich aliphatische Doppelbindungen
zu sättigen, um die Stabilität des Polymerisats
während des Schmiervorgangs zu erhöhen, zweitens ist es wesentlich,
nicht alle aliphatischen Doppelbindungen zu reduzieren, damit
das Maleinsäureanhydrid mit den restlichen aliphatischen Doppelbindungen
reagiert. Im Idealfall wird das Polymerisat so selektiv
hydriert, daß die maximale Menge an Maleinsäureanhydrid mit
dem Polymerisat reagiert und keine Doppelbindungen im Blockcopolymerisat
für einen oxidativen Abbau mehr zur Verfügung stehen.
Als Monoalkenylarene A für die Herstellung des Ausgangsblockcopolymerisats
geeignet sind Styrol und Methylstyrole, wie α-Methylstyrol,
Vinyltoluol und andere am Ring methylierte Styrole.
Styrol ist das bevorzugte Monomere, es können jedoch auch Gemische
dieser Alkenylarene verwendet werden. Für den Block B wird,
vor der Hydrierung geeigneterweise ein Isopren- oder Butadienpolymerblock
verwendet. Ist das Monomere Butadien, so haben vorzugsweise
etwa 35 bis 55 Molprozent der kondensierten Butadieneinheiten
in dem Butadienpolymerisatblock 1,2-Struktur. Wird ein
solcher Block hydriert, so entsteht ein regelmäßiger Copolymerisatblock
von Äthylen- und Buten-1-Einheiten. Ist das Monomere
jedoch Isopren, so haben vorzugsweise mindestens etwa 80 Molprozent
der Isopreneinheiten 1,4-Struktur, die entweder in cis-
oder trans-Stellung sind. Das entstandene Produkt ist dann ein
regelmäßiger Copolymerisatblock von alternierenden Äthylen-
und Propylen-Einheiten.
Diese Blockcopolymerisate werden in herkömmlicher Weise hergestellt
unter Verwendung von Initiatoren auf Lithiumbasis, vorzugsweise
Lithiumalkylverbindungen, wie Lithiumbutyl- oder
Lithiumamylverbindungen. Die Polymerisation erfolgt im allgemeinen
in Lösung in einem inerten Lösungsmittel, wie Cyclohexan
oder Alkanen, wie Butanen oder Pentanen oder Gemischen dieser
Verbindungen. Das zuerst zu polymerisierende Monomere (das kann
entweder ein Monoalkenylaren, Butadien oder Isopren sein) wird
in das System eingespeist und mit dem Polymerisationsinitiator
in Berührung gebracht. Der Polymerisationsinitiator liegt in
einer solchen Menge vor, daß das vorberechnete mittlere
Molekulargewicht erreicht wird. Nach Erreichen dieses gewünschten
Molekulargewichts und Verarmung an dem Monomeren wird
in das lebende Polymerisationssystem das zweite Monomere eingespeist.
Es erfolgt Blockpolymerisation, wobei ein lebendes Blockcopolymerisat
entsteht, das dann durch Zugabe von z. B.
Methanol oder Wasser abgetötet wird.
Das mittlere Molekulargewicht jedes Monoalkenylaren-Polymerisatblocks
in dem als Ausgangsmaterial verwendeten Blockcopolymerisat beträgt
etwa 25 000 bis etwa 50 000, vorzugsweise etwa 30 000 bis
etwa 45 000. Die Dien-Polymerblöcke haben ein mittleres
Molekulargewicht von etwa 35 000 bis etwa 100 000, vorzugsweise
etwa 50 000 bis etwa 80 000. Das geringste Gesamtmolekulargewicht
des Blockcopolymerisats sollte etwa 60 000 betragen,
wogegen das höchste Molekulargewicht bei etwa 150 000 liegen
sollte. Das Gewichtsverhältnis von A : B beträgt zweckmäßigerweise
etwa 0,5 : 1 bis etwa 0,7 : 1.
Das als Ausgangsmaterial verwendete Blockcopolymerisat wird so
selektiv hydriert, daß zwischen etwa 75%, z. B. 80%, bis etwa
98%, vorzugsweise etwa 90 bis etwa 95%, der aliphatischen ungesättigten
Bindungen in dem Blockcopolymerisat gesättigt sind und nicht
über etwa 20% der Doppelbindungen des Monoalkenylaren-Polymerisats
hydriert sind. Vorzugsweise sind etwa 90 bis etwa 95%
der olefinischen Doppelbindungen in dem konjugierten Dien-Polymerisatblock
hydriert. Es ist wichtig, das Blockcopolymerisat
auf den oberen Wert zu hydrieren, so daß es möglich ist, das
Polymerisat über die verbliebenen olefinischen Bindungen
herzustellen.
Die Hydrierung erfolgt vorzugsweise durch Lösen des
Blockcopolymerisats in einem inerten Lösungsmittel, im allgemeinen
in dem Lösungsmittel der Polymerisation, und Zugeben eines
Kobalt-, Nickel- oder Eisen-carbonsäureesters oder -alkoxids,
das durch eine Aluminiumalkylverbindung reduziert worden ist, und
Beaufschlagen bei milden Temperaturen von 20 bis 70°C mit Wasserstoff
bis zu einem Druck von 4,5 bis 36 kg/cm². Die selektive
Hydrierung erfolgt zu dem gewünschten Ausmaß in etwa 6 Minuten
bis 2 Stunden (vgl. US-PS 35 95 942).
Das Produkt aus dieser selektiven Hydrierung wird auf verbliebene
olefinische Bindungen durch IR-Spektrometrie,
durch Bestimmung der Jodzahl sowie durch Ozon-Titration
im Bereich von 0,1 bis 1,0 mVal/g untersucht. Ein Produkt, dessen IR-Absorption
niedrig ist bei Wellenlängen von 10,05, 10,35, 10,98
und 13,60 mµ und das eine Jodzahl zwischen 0 und etwa 100
hat, ist bevorzugt, da dann mindestens etwa 75% der olefinischen
Doppelbindungen gesättigt sind. Die hier angegebene Jodzahl bezieht
sich auf die übliche Methode für die Analyse von Fett und
wird in Gramm Jod je 100 g Polymerisat angegeben. Die aromatischen
Doppelbindungen lagern in diesem Verfahren kein Jod an,
so daß nur olefinische Doppelbindungen berücksichtigt werden.
Die Jodzahl des hydrierten Polymerisats hängt teilweise von der
Jodzahl des als Ausgangsmaterial verwendeten Polymerisats ab, d. h. vom
Verhältnis der Molekulargewichte des Dien-Polymerblocks zum
Mono-α-alkenylaren-Polymerblock; in den geeignetsten hydrierten
Blockcopolymerisaten fallen jedoch die Jodzahlen in den angegebenen
Bereich. Entsprechendes gilt auch für die Bestimmung der
olefinischen Bindungen durch Titration mit Ozon.
Es ist nicht zweckmäßig, außerdem ist es viel kostspieliger,
sowohl die Monoalkenylaren-Polymerblöcke als auch die Dien-Polymerblöcke
zu hydrieren. Die Hydrierung des Dien-Polymerblocks
allein genügt, um die gesättigte aliphatische Polymerisatstruktur
herzustellen, die für eine verbesserte Stabilität notwendig
ist. Die Hydrierung der Monoalkenylaren-Polymerisatblöcke
benötigt außerdem höhere Temperaturen und Drücke. Außerdem
werden die durch Hydrierung der Monoalkenylaren-Polymerisateinheiten
gebildeten Cyclohexan-Ringe leichter durch Sauerstoff
angegriffen als ihre nicht hydrierten aromatischen Vorstufen.
Aus diesem Grund sind die selektiv hydrierten Blockcopolymerisate
für Schmiermittelzusätze geeigneter und außerdem weniger teuer
als die voll hydrierten Polymerisate.
Gelegentlich ist die Hydrierung unter den angegebenen Bedingungen
nicht ganz selektiv, so daß einige der aromatischen Ringe ebenfalls
hydriert werden. Das kann mit ganz bestimmten Katalysatoren
oder mit ungewöhnlich aktiven Proben eines Katalysators vorkommen,
der normalerweise sehr selektiv ist. Eine Hydrierung bis
zu 20% der aromatischen Doppelbindungen in dem entsprechenden
Blockcopolymerisat kann auftreten. Aus diesem Grund sind hydrierte
Blockcopolymerisate, in denen die Dien-Polymerblöcke über 75%,
vorzugsweise über 80%, jedoch unter 98% gesättigt sind, und in
denen die Styrol-Polymerblöcke von 0 bis 20% gesättigt sind, für
das erfindungsgemäße Produkt geeignet.
Das selektiv hydrierte Blockcopolymerisat der Formel A-B wird dann
in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels mit Maleinsäureanhydrid umgesetzt,
das mit den restlichen olefinischen Bindungen in dem Dienanteil
des Blockcopolymerisats reagiert. Im allgemeinen werden etwa 10 bis
100%, vorzugsweise 50 bis 95%, der restlichen Doppelbindungen
in dem Blockcopolymerisat in Bernsteinsäureanhydrid-Gruppen umgewandelt.
Da es aus praktischen Gründen nicht wirtschaftlich ist,
alle Doppelbindungen in dem Blockcopolymerisat-Molekül zu Anhydridgruppen
umzuwandeln, enthält das entstandene Polymerisat
einige nicht umgesetzte Doppelbindungen.
Als Lösungsmittel für diese Herstellungsstufe geeignet sind
olefinfreie Erdöl-Kohlenwasserstoffe, aromatische und halogenierte
Kohlenwasserstoffe. Als Lösungsmittel bevorzugt sind ein Schmierölgrundöl
oder Trichlorbenzol. Für die Herstellungsstufe a)
ist eine Konzentration von etwa 1 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent des
Blockcopolymerisats in dem Lösungsmittel geeignet.
Zweckmäßigerweise wird eine größere Menge an Maleinsäureanhydrid
verwendet als stöchiometrisch notwendig ist, um alle verbliebenen
Doppelbindungen in dem Dienanteil des selektiv hydrierten Blockcopolymerisats
umzusetzen. Vorzugsweise wird mindestens 1 Mol
Maleinsäureanhydrid für jede vorhandene olefinische Doppelbindung
in dem selektiv hydrierten Blockcopolymerisat verwendet, wobei ein
Verhältnis von Maleinsäureanhydrid zu olefinischer Doppelbindung
von etwa 1 : 1 bis etwa 2 : 1 bevorzugt ist. Man kann jedoch auch eine
geringere als die stöchiometrische Menge an Maleinsäureanhydrid
verwenden.
Die Umsetzung mit Maleinsäureanhydrid in Herstellungsstufe a)
kann mit oder ohne Katalysator oder Radikalinitiator, wie einem
tertiären Hydroperoxid, erfolgen. Während der thermischen Reaktion
wird die Temperatur zweckmäßigerweise etwa 1 bis etwa 10 Stunden
auf etwa 180 bis 250°C gehalten. Besonders geeignet sind eine
Temperatur von etwa 225°C und eine Zeit von etwa 4 Stunden.
Überschüssiges Maleinsäureanhydrid wird entweder unter vermindertem
Druck abdestilliert oder mit einem Gasstrom abgestreift.
In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform erfolgt die Umsetzung mit
Maleinsäureanhydrid in Gegenwart von Chlor sowie in Anwesenheit
eines Lösungsmittels. Die Verwendung von Chlor ist bei Isobuten-
Polymerisaten in der GB-PS 9 49 981 beschrieben. Vorzugsweise
wird eine solche Menge an Chlor verwendet, daß das Gemisch aus
Copolymerisat und Maleinsäureanhydrid mit 0,3 bis 1,5, vorzugsweise
0,5 bis 1,2 Mol Chlor je Mol Maleinsäureanhydrid in Berührung
kommt. In Bezug auf die Umwandlung des Copolymerisats
scheint es für die Chlormenge keine untere Grenze zu geben.
In der Praxis sind jedoch die oben angegebenen Mengen bevorzugt.
Zweckmäßigerweise wird das Gemisch von Copolymerisat und
Maleinsäureanhydrid auf die Reaktionstemperatur erhitzt, bevor
es mit dem Chlor in Berührung gebracht wird. Das Gemisch wird
mit einem molaren Unterschuß von Chlor in Berührung gebracht,
bevor wesentliche Mengen, z. B. weniger als die Hälfte, des Maleinsäureanhydrids
reagiert haben. Am besten ist es, wenn das Maleinsäureanhydrid
noch nicht reagiert hat. Die Geschwindigkeit, mit
der das Chlor in das Gemisch eingeleitet wird, kann innerhalb
weiter Grenzen schwanken, vorzugsweise sollte sie jedoch der
Chloraufnahme entsprechen. Im allgemeinen wird das Chlor
30 Minuten bis 10 Stunden, vorzugsweise 3 bis 7 Stunden lang
eingeleitet.
Nach der Behandlung mit dem Chlor ist es im Herstellungsverfahren
günstig, das entstandene Gemisch nachreagieren zu lassen oder
einer Wärmebehandlung zu unterwerfen, zweckmäßigerweise
durch Erhitzen auf eine Temperatur von 140 bis 220°C, vorzugsweise
160 bis 210°C. Das Gemisch wird 6 Minuten bis 20 Stunden,
vorzugsweise 30 Minuten bis 10 Stunden, so erhitzt, z. B. unter
Rückfluß, daß kein Produkt entweicht. Eine längere Erhitzungsdauer
begünstigt die Bildung von teerigen Nebenprodukten.
Das auf diese Weise entstandene Polymerisat wird dann in Stufe b)
des Herstellungsverfahrens mit einem gesättigten geradkettigen
oder verzweigten Amin mit 1 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen oder einem
Alkanpolyol umgesetzt.
Geeignet sind aliphatische primäre oder sekundäre Amine mit 1 bis
8 Stickstoffatomen, vorzugsweise Mono- oder Diamine, wie Äthylamin,
Butylamin, sek.-Butylamin oder Diäthylamin, sowie höhere Polyamine,
z. B. Alkylenpolyamine, in denen je 2 Stickstoffatome durch
Alkylengruppen mit 2 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen verbunden sind.
Polyamine der Formel
in der n 2 bis 4 und m 0 bis 6 bedeuten, sind geeignet. Spezielle
Beispiele für derartige Polyamine sind Tetraäthylpentamin, Tripropylentetramin,
N-Aminoalkylpiperazine, wie N-(2-Aminoäthyl)-piperazin
oder N,N′-Di-(2-aminoäthyl)-piperazin. Bevorzugt sind
Tetraäthylpentamin sowie im Handel erhältliche Polyamin-Gemische.
Als Alkanpolyole für die Stufe b) des Herstellungsverfahrens
geeignet sind Alkanpolyole mit mindestens 2, vorzugsweise
mindestens 4 Hydroxylgruppen, wie Trihydroxyalkane, z. B. Trihydroxybutane,
-pentane, -hexane, -octane,-nonane und -dodecane,
sowie Tetrahydroxyalkane, Pentahydroxykane und Hexahydroxyalkane,
ferner Zuckeralkohole, z. B. Erythrit, Pentaerythrit,
Tetrite, Pentite, Hexite, Mannit, Sorbit und Glukose. Bevorzugt
sind Pentaerythrit und Mannit, insbesondere Pentaerythrit.
Das molare Verhältnis von Amin oder Polyol zu Maleinsäureanhydrid
beträgt zweckmäßigerweise 0,1 : 1 bis 2 : 1, vorzugsweise 0,5 : 1 bis
2 : 1, insbesondere etwa 1 : 1. Diese Reaktion erfolgt zweckmäßigerweise
bei einer Temperatur von etwa 150 bis 250°C und einer Dauer
von etwa 1 bis etwa 20 Stunden, z. B. 5 Stunden, oder z. B. 1 Stunde
bei 160°C und anschließend 1 Stunde bei 190°C (für die Umsetzung
mit dem Amin).
Im Herstellungsverfahren werden alle Stufen vorzugsweise in Abwesenheit
von Sauerstoff durchgeführt, da das Endprodukt gegenüber
Oxydation wesentlich instabiler sein kann, wenn es in
Gegenwart von Sauerstoff hergestellt worden ist. Als Schutzgas
sehr geeignet ist Stickstoff.
Wird im Herstellungsverfahren ein Überschuß an Amin oder
Polyol verwendet, so ist es gelegentlich wünschenswert, diesen
zu entfernen. Das kann man dadurch erreichen, daß man zuerst
ein dem Volumen des gelösten Endprodukts entsprechendes Volumen
an Heptan, dann ein entsprechendes Volumen an Methanol zugibt.
Es bilden sich zwei getrennte Phasen, die untere Phase enthält
hauptsächlich Methanol und das nicht umgesetzte Polyamin oder
Polyol, die obere Phase enthält das Heptan, das Lösungsmittel und
das Endprodukt. Nach Abtrennen der unteren Phase werden aus der
oberen Phase die flüchtigen Bestandteile abdestilliert. Man kann
das überschüssige Polyol aber auch unter vermindertem Druck abdestillieren
oder mit einem Gas abstreifen.
Das erfindungsgemäße öllösliche Produkt kann Schmierölgemischen,
z. B. Ölen für Kraftwagen-Kurbelgehäuse in Konzentrationen
von etwa 0,1 bis etwa 15 Gewichtsprozent, vorzugsweise etwa 0,1
bis 3 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf das Gesamtgemisch, einverleibt
werden. Das Produkt kann nicht nur hydrierend behandelten
Mineralschmierölen zugesetzt werden sondern auch synthetischen
Ölen. Als synthetische Schmieröle sind nicht nur Kohlenwasserstoffe
sondern auch andere Öle geeignet, wie dibasische Säureester,
z. B. Sebacinsäure-di-2-äthylhexylester, Kohlensäureester,
Phosphatester, halogenierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, Polysilikone,
Polyglykole, Glykolester, z. B. die C₁₃-Oxosäurediester von Tetraäthylenglykol.
Benzin oder einem Kraftstoff, z. B. Dieselöl,
werden im allgemeinen etwa 0,001 bis 0,5 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen
auf das Gesamtgemisch, des erfindungsgemäßen öllöslichen
Produkts zugesetzt. Für eine leichtere Handhabung kann man auch
Konzentrate herstellen, die eine geringere Menge, z. B. 10 bis 45
Gewichtsprozent, des öllöslichen Produkts in einer größeren
Menge an Kohlenwasserstoff als Verdünnungsmittel, z. B. 95 bis 55
Gewichtsprozent Mineralschmieröl, gegebenenfalls mit anderen
Zusatzmitteln, enthalten.
In diesen Schmiermittelgemischen oder Konzentraten können auch
noch andere herkömmliche Zusatzmittel vorhanden sein, wie
Farbstoffe, Stockpunkterniedriger, verschleißverhindernde
Mittel, z. B. Tricresylphosphat, Zinkdialkyldithiophosphate mit
3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, Antioxidantien, wie Phenyl-α-naphthylamin
oder tert.-Octylphenolsulfid, Bisphenole, wie 4,4′-Methylen-bis-(3,6-di-tert.-butylphenol),
viskositätsindexverbessernde
Mittel, wie ein Copolymerisat aus Äthylen und einem
höheren Olefin, Polymethylacrylate, Polyisobutylen oder Alkylfumarat-Vinylacetat-Copolymerisate,
sowie andere aschefreie
Dispergiermittel oder Reinigungsmittel, wie überbasische Sulfonate.
Die Beispiele erläutern die Erfindung.
5 g eines Blockcopolymerisats mit einem Styrolblock mit einem
Molekulargewicht M w von 35 000 und einem teilweise hydrierten
Isoprenblock mit einem Molekulargewicht M w von etwa 65 000 und
0,4 mVal/g ungesättigten Bindungen, bestimmt durch Ozontitration,
werden in 100 g leichtem Mineralöl gelöst. Diese Polymerlösung
wird bei 200°C 4 Stunden unter Stickstoffschutz mit 0,4 g
Maleinsäureanhydrid umgesetzt. Überschüssiges Maleinsäureanhydrid
wird durch Abstreifen mit Stickstoff entfernt.
Dieses Produkt wird dann mit 0,8 g Tetraäthylenpentamin bei 160°C
2 Stunden umgesetzt. Die Öllösung wird dann mit Isopropylalkohol
verdünnt, wobei das Endprodukt ausfällt.
Eine 2gewichtsprozentige Lösung dieses Produkts in leichtem Mineralöl
wird in einem Verhältnis von 1 : 2 mit einem Öl vermischt, das
in einem Sequence-VC-Motortest verwendet worden ist. Nach dem
16stündigen Erhitzen dieses Gemisches auf 150°C werden einige
Tropfen auf ein Laboratoriumsfilterpapier aufgebracht. Nach 24
Stunden wird das Verhältnis der Durchmesser der Schlamm- und Ölflecken
gemessen. In diesem Test wird die Fähigkeit einer bestimmten
Konzentration an Dispergiermittel, die Bewegung des
suspendierten Schlammes auf dem Papier zu erleichtern, gemessen.
Mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Produkt
erhält man ein Testergebnis von 61% verglichen mit Werten von
etwa 60 bis 70% für im Handel erhältliche Dispergiermittel.
Durch 150stündiges Erhitzen auf 150°C einer 1gewichtsprozentigen
Lösung des erfindungsgemäßen Produkts
in leichtem Mineralöl und Einleiten von Luft durch die Lösung
wird die Oxidationsstabilität des Produkts gemessen. Am Ende des
Versuchs hat sich kein Schlamm gebildet, es sind weniger als
1 Gewichtsprozent in Pentan unlösliche Verbindungen vorhanden.
Im Gegensatz dazu erhält man mit Proben von im Handel erhältlichen
Viskositätsindexverbesserern auf Polyolefinbasis wesentlich
größere Mengen an Schlamm sowie 1,5 bis 3,0 Gewichtsprozent in
Pentan unlösliche Verbindungen.
10 g des teilweise hydrierten Blockcopolymerisats des Beispiels 1
werden in 1,2,4-Trichlorbenzol gelöst und mit 320 mg Chlor
1 Stunde bei 50°C chloriert. Das Gemisch wird dann mit 0,94 g
(8,2 mMol) Maleinsäureanhydrid versetzt und bei 180°C 2 Stunden unter
Stickstoffschutz erhitzt. 1,1 g (8,1 mMol) Pentaerythrit werden
zugegeben, die Lösung wird 6 Stunden unter Stickstoffschutz
auf 210°C erhitzt.
Nach beendeter Reaktion wird die Lösung mit einer entsprechenden
Gewichtsmenge an Schmierölgrundöl versetzt, das Lösungsmittel wird
unter vermindertem Druck abdestilliert. Dann wird eine dem Öl
entsprechende Menge Heptan zugegeben, die Lösung wird mit Methanol
gewaschen. Schließlich werden flüchtige Bestandteile durch Abstreifen
mti Stickstoff entfernt.
Die Wirksamkeit dieses Produkts als Dispergiermittel wird dadurch
demonstriert, daß eine stabile Emulsion von Methanol und Heptan,
d. h. von Lösungsmitteln, die normalerweise nicht mischbar sind,
hergestellt werden kann. Die Wirkung als Viskositätsindexverbesserer
wird anhand der Bestimmung der Viskosität bei 37,8°C
und 98,9°C einer 1gewichtsprozentigen Lösung des Produkts in
einem herkömmlichen Schmierölgemisch bewiesen. Man erhält Werte
von 66,9 bzw. 11,8 cSt Viskositätsindex: 146).
Claims (10)
1. Öllösliches Produkt, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es durch Umsetzen von
- a) einem selektiv hydrierten Blockcopolymerisat der Formel A-B, in der A ein Monoalkenylarenpolymerisat mit einem durchschnittlichen Molekulargewicht von etwa 25 000 bis etwa 50 000 und B ein Polymerisat eines konjugierten Diens mit 4 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 35 000 bis etwa 100 000 ist, in dem etwa 75% bis etwa 98% der aliphatischen ungesättigten Bindungen hydriert und nicht über etwa 20% der aromatischen Doppelbindungen reduziert worden sind, mit Maleinsäurehydrid bei einer Temperatur von etwa 180 bis 250°C in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels und
- b) Umsetzen des entstandenen Produkts mit einem Amin mit 1 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen und 1 bis 8 Stickstoffatomen und/oder mit einem Alkanpolyol mit mindestens 2 Hydroxylgruppen erhalten worden ist.
2. Öllösliches Produkt nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es durch Umsetzen des Blockcopolymerisats und des Maleinsäureanhydrids
in einem Molverhältnis von Maleinsäureanhydrid zu im
Blockpolymerisat noch vorhandenen olefinischen Doppelbindungen
von etwa 1 : 1 bis etwa 2 : 1 in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels
erhalten worden ist.
3. Öllösliches Produkt nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es durch Umsetzen in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels und von
Chlor in einem Molverhältnis von Chlor zu Maleinsäureanhydrid
von etwa 0,3 : 1 bis etwa 1,5 : 1 erhalten worden ist.
4. Öllösliches Produkt nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es als Dienkomponente Isopren enthält.
5. Öllösliches Produkt nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es durch Umsetzen mit einem Amin der Formel
in der n 2 bis 4 und m 0 bis 6 bedeuten, erhalten worden ist.
6. Öllösliches Produkt nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es als Aminkomponente Tetraäthylenpentamin enthält.
7. Öllösliches Produkt nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es als Alkanpolyolkomponente Pentaerythrit enthält.
8. Öllösliches Produkt nach Anspruch 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß es aus einem Blockcopolymerisat, in dem etwa 90
bis etwa 95% der aliphatischen Doppelverbindungen hydriert worden
sind, erhalten worden ist.
9. Verwendung des öllöslichen Produkts nach Anspruch 1 bis 8
in Schmiermittelgemischen.
10. Ausführungsform nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß das öllösliche Produkt in einer Menge von 0,1 bis 15 Gewichtsprozent,
bezogen auf das Schmiermittelgemisch, verwendet
wird.
