Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Anbringung einer Etiketthülle auf einer Polyäthylen-Flasche, bei
dem man den mit dem Etikett versehenen Flaschenkörper Wärmestrahlung aussetzt und auf diese Weise eine
feste Bindung zwischen Etikett und Flaschenkörper herbeiführt.
Bei einem vorbekannten Verfahren dieser Art (DE-OS 17 61193) wird die Etiketthülle mit einer
Klebstoffschicht und einer wachsertigen Außenschicht
versehen, wobei als Kleber ein wärmehärtbarer Klebstoff verwendet wird. Die Wärmestrahlung wird
zur thermischen Nachbehandlung eingesetzt, um den Klebstoff des auf den Flaschenkörper aufgebrachten
Etiketts zu härten. Zu diesem Zweck wird der etikettierte Kunststoffbehälter nicht mehr als drei
Sekunden intensiver Wärmestrahlung ausgesetzt.
Von der Anmelderin ist bereits in ihren Laboratorien in den USA versucht worden, Etiketthüllen aus
Polyäthylen auf einer Polyäthylen-Flasche mittels eines heißen Eisens aufzuschweißen. Dies war jedoch nicht
erfolgreich, da es zu einem Reißen des Etiketts und einer Verformung des Flaschenkörpers sowie des bedruckten
Etiketts durch die Berührung mit dem heißen Eisen kam.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein für die Praxis geeignetes Verfahren zur Anbringung einer
Etiketthülle auf einer Polyäthylen-Flasche anzugeben, bei dem kein Klebstoff zum Verbinden der Etiketthülle
mit dem Flaschenkörper erforderlich ist.
Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist ein Verfahren mit den eingangs angegebenen Merkmalen erfindungsgemäß
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Innenseite der aus Polyäthylen bestehenden Etiketthülle mit der Außenfläche
des Flaschenkörpers durch die Wärmestrahlung verschweißt wird.
Wie sich in der Praxis gezeigt hat, ist ein Verschweißen der aus Polyäthylen bestehenden Etiketthülle
und dem aus Polyäthylen bestehenden Flaschenkörper dann möglich, wenn zum Verschweißen
Wärmestrahlung benutzt wird. Von der Anmelderin wurde festgestellt, daß es hierbei zu keiner unzulässigen
das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren durch Einfachheit und hohe Wirtschaftlichkeit aus.

Der in der Figur dargestelle, aus Polyäthylen bestehende Flaschenkörper 5 besitzt einen Hals 7, einen
Mittelteil 9 und einen Boden 10. Der Flaschenkörper 5 und weitere Flaschenkörper stehen auf einem Förderer

Der Flaschenkörper 5 ist mit einer aus Polyäthylen bestehenden EtiketthiÜle 20 versehen, die eine obere

Flaschenkörper 5 sind Heizvorrichtungen 30 vorgesehen, die im Abstand zur Etiketthülle 20 angeordnet sind

Heizelemente 34 auf.

Etiketthülle wird im allgemeinen in weniger als ungefähr fünfundzwanzig Sekunden und normalerweise
in ungefähr zwanzig bis einundzwanzig Sekunden durchgeführt.

wie zum Beispiel der Geschwindigkeit des Förderers 15 abhängt.
Claims (3)
1. Verfahren zur Anbringung einer Etiketthülle auf einer Polyäthylen-Flasche, bei dem man den mit dem
Etikett versehenen Flaschenkörper Wärmestrahlung aussetzt und auf diese Weise eine feste Bindung
zwischen Etikett und Flaschenkörper herbeiführt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Innenseite
der aus Polyäthylen bestehenden Etiketthülle mit der Außenfläche des Flaschenkörpers durch die
Wärmestrahlung verschweißt wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Etiketthülle an zwei nicht zusammenhängenden gegenüberliegenden Bereichen
mit der Außenseite des zugehörigen Flaschenkörpers verschweißt wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Wärmestrahlung maximal
25 Sekunden lang auf die Etiketthülle gerichtet wird.
