Dimethyrbut.Qdi.cn vmü. Ghlo^opren; ebenso sind nur wenige monosubotituierte
Dliialogonphoophine gut zugänglich. Daher sind
bisher nur einige wonige Fhospholin- und Phospholanoxide für
den tecfenißchen Einsatz erifogen worden. Es ist deshalb in der
Verccmsoniiöit cclEfiorig gewesen, den vielen technisch eingesetzten
Isocyanaten sowie ihren Lösungen und Mischungen
optimal angepaßte Carbodiimidisierungs-Katalysatoren zur

zugehörigen Sulfide mit Alkylreston ein brauchbarer YJcg.
Darüber hinaus schafft der Einbau von Alkylgruppon, S.D. in
Form von Alkoxygruppen ein Möglichkeit, mit funkt ionoll cn
Gruppen substituierte Fhospholanoxidc herzustellen, die dann
z.B. über kovalente Bindungen in Makromoleküle eingebaut werden können. Alkoxy-phospholanoxide sind an sich bekannt;
sie werden durch Licht-induzierte Addition von Alkoholen an 1-Alkylphospholine-2 und nachfolgende Oxidation der gebildeten
Alkoxyphospholane mit Percarbonsäuren zu den 1-substituierten 3-Alkoxy-phospholanoxiden erhalten.
Phospholine-3 addieren unter diesen Bedingungen allerdings
keinen Alkohol. Die Reaktion ist auch nur auf primäre Alkohole anwendbar; sekundäre Alkohole z.B. geben Nebenreaktionen
(H. Tomioka, Y. Izawa, Tetrah. Letters 30, 5059 (1973)).
Es war daher Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, ein einfaches Verfahren zu finden, das es erlaubt, Alkoxyphospholanoxide
und -sulfide aus Phospholinoxiden bzw. -sulfiden herzustellen. Insbesondere sollte es möglich sein, di© Reaktion sowohl
mit primären als auch mit sekundären und tertiären Alkoxygruppen durchzuführen.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Alkoxyphospholanoxiden und -sulfiden der allgemeinen

Als Alkohole der allgemeinen Formel IV, die für das erfindunsoG©näße
Verfallen geeignet sind, kommen sowohl primäre
uie auch scrncxdar© lind tertiäre Alkohole in Frage.
Darüber hinaus können im Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest R^ Substituontcn
vorlianöon sein, die mit dem basischen Katalysator
nicht reagieren oder aber so langsam reagieren, daß sie die erwünschte Reaktion nicht stören.
Beispiele für erfindungsgemäß zu verwendende Alkohole sind:
Ffethanol, Äthanolf n-Propanol, i-Propanol, n-Butanol,
i-Butanol, sek.-Butanol, tert.-Butanol, die isomeren
Pentanole, Hexanole, Heptanole, Oktanole, Nonanole, Dskanole, Dodekanole, sowie weiter Cyclopentanol, Cyclohexanol,
Benzylalkohol, 2-Phenyläthanol, 2-Methoxyäthanol,
2-Phenoxyäthanol, 2-Pentachlorphenoxyäthanol, Allylalkohol,
M3thallylalkohol, Glykol, Diäthylenglykol, Triäthylenglykol,
Propylenglykol, Trimethylolpropan, Glycerin, Propandiol-1,3,
2-Iferkaptomethyläthanol, Butendiol-1,4, Butindiol-1,4,
Propargylalkohol.
In entsprechender Weise lagern sich auch Thioalkohole und
Thiophenole an Phosphinoxide und -sulfide an unter Bildung der Alkylmercaptophospholanoxide und -sulfide. Geeignete Thioalkohole
und Thiophenole sind z.B. Wathylmercaptan, Xthylmercaptan, n-Butylmercaptan, i-Propylmercaptan, Dodecylmercaptan,

tert.-Dodecylmercaptan, Thioglycolsäure-Na-Salz, Thioglykolsäureäthylester,
Thiophenol, Thiokresol.
Ferner sind Gemische von Alkoholen einsetzbar.
Als basische Katalysatoren für das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kommen die zu dem Jeweils eingesetzten Alkohol zugehörigen
löslichen Metallalkoholate, insbesondere die Natrium- und Kaliumsalze, Alkalimetall- und Erdalkalimetallhydroxide
und ihre wäßrigen Lösungen sowie alle Jene Agenzien in
Frage, die bekanntermaßen die jeweils eingesetzten Alkohole in ihre Metallsalze zu überführen vermögen. Zu der
letztgenannten Gruppen gehören beispielsweise elementare Alkalimetalle, Erdalkalimetalle, Erdmetalle, Grignardverbindungen, Alkalimetall-organische Verbindungen.
Die Reaktionsprodukte der allgemeinen Formel I stellen im allgemeinen Mischungen von Verbindungen der Formeln

dar. Untersuchungen haben ergeben, daß die Struktur 1 b
im allgemeinen den überwiegenden Anteil darstellt.
Das erfindungsgem&Se Verfahren wird im allgemeinen so ausgeführt, daß die einzusetzenden Msngen der Reaktionsteilnehmer der allgemeinen Formel II bzw. III und der Formel IV
gemeinsam mit dem alkalischen Katalysator auf Reaktionstemperatur gebracht und dort für eine gewisse Zeit belassen
werden. Das Ziel der Reaktion wird Jedoch auch erreicht, wenn einer der Reaktionsteilnehmer oder der alkalische
Katalysator oder beliebige Kombinationen daraus vorgelegt werden und die fehlenden Bestandteile der Reaktionsmischung
nachträglich zugeführt werden.
Die an der Reaktion beteiligten Fhospholinoxide bzw. -sulfide
der allgemeinen Formeln II bzw. III und die Alkohole der allgemeinen Formel IV werden im allgemeinen in Molverhältnissen von 5:1 bis 1:50 eingesetzt. Die Menge des hinzuzufügenden alkalischen Katalysators beträgt von ca. 0,5 bis
ca, 100 Mol %, bezogen auf die gegebenenfalls im Unterschuß
eingesetzte Gruppe der Reaktionsteilnehmer der Formeln II bzw. III und der Formel IV.

pur die Durchführung der Reaktion kann ein Lösungsmittel
verwendet werden, das mit den Reaktionsteilnehmern unter
den angewendeten Bedingungen nicht reagiert, doch ist es bevorzugt, ohne Lösungsmittel zu arbeiten.
Die Reaktionstemperaturen betragen zwischen 30 und ca« 200 C,
bevorzugt ist ein Bereich zwischen 60 und 1500C. Vorzugsveis®
wird die. Reaktion-Mi Normldruck ausgeführt, doch kann

Verfahren soll nun anhand der folgenden noch nfÜÄ©r erläutert werden:

Eine Lösung von 232 g 1-Methyl-i-oxo-phospholin-Isomerengemisch
und 22,5 g Natriummethylat in 390 ml Methanol wird 16 Std. unter Rückfluß erwärmt. Danach wird Methanol abdestilliert,
der Rückstand in 200 ml Wasser aufgenommen, mit Natriumchlorid gesättigt und fünfmal mit dem gleichen Volumen Chloroform extrahiert. Aus den vereinigten Chloroform-Extrakten
wird das Lösungsmittel abdestilliert und der Rest über Kolonne
in 14 g 1-I^thyl-1-o&o-pho©pholin (Kp0 5 69-810C) und
258 β 1-Etethyl-1-oxo-(2,3)-methoxy-phoopholan (Kp.0|5
92-1020C) getrennt. Umwandlung des-1-flethyl-i-oxo-phospholins;
92 %.
Beispiele 2-5
Lösungen von 232 g 1-Methyl-i-oxo-phospholin in 390 ml Methanol
werden mit den in der ersten Spalte der nachfolgenden Tabelle angegebenen Menge Katalysator versetzt und während der in der
zweiten Spalte genannten Zeit am Sieden (ca. 700C) gehalten.
Nach dieser Zeit wird Methanol abdestilliert, der Rückstand in 200 ml Wasser aufgenommen, mit Natriumchlorid gesättigt
und fünfmal mit dem gleichen Volumen Chloroform extrahiert. Aus den vereinigten Chloroform-Extrakten wird das Lösungsmittel
abdestilliert. Im Rückstand wird gaschromatographisch das Verhältnis 1-Methyl-i-oxo-phospholin zu 1-Methyl-i-oxo-(2,3)-methoxy-phospholan
bestimmt und daraus der Umwandlungsgrad des eingesetzten 1-Methyl-1-oxo-phospholins in 1-Methyl-1-oxo-(2,3)-methoxy-phospholan
errechnet.

Eine Lösung von 348 g 1-H8thyl-1 -oxo-phospholin in 600 ml AlIyalkohol, von dem zuvor ein Teil durch Reaktion mit 7 g Natrium
in Natrium&llylalkoholat umgewandelt worden war, wird 16 Stunden lang auf 980C erhitzt. Nach dieser Zeit beträgt der gaschromatographisch bestickte Unimndlungsgrad des 1-Ksthyl-i-oxoin das 1-ISsthyl-1-oxo-(2,3)-allyloxy-phospholan
76 %. Zur Aufarbeitung wird bei 98-1000C b©i auf 20 in Hg
abnehsa©nd©n Druck der Allylalkohol abdestilliert. Dar Rückstau vlT'l mit 400 ml ¥as8©r aufgenmanen .und mit Schwefelsäure neutralisiert. Die neutrale wäßrig® Lösung wird fünfmal mit dem gleichen Volumen Chloroform extrahiert. Aus den
vereinigten Chloroform-Extrakten wird zunächst das Lösungsmittel mit Resten Allylalkohol abdestilliert, danach im
V&kutsa nicht umgesetztes 1-ffethyl-1-oxo-phospholin (29 g Kp1
81-9S0C) über eine mit Raschig-Ringen gefüllte Kolonne
herausfralrtioniert und zum Schluß 1-Methyl-1-oxo-(2,3)-allylozy-phospholin (Kp1 109-1180C) übergetrieben.
Ausbeute: 407 g (78 % d.Th., bezogen auf eingesetztes 1-Methyl-1-oxo-phospholin).
Beispiele 7-10
In einer den Versuchen Λ bis 6 ähnlichen Weise werden die in
der 1. Spalte der nachfolgenden Tabelle genannten Alkohole (Je 300 ml) in Gegenwart einer in der 2. Spalte genannten
Menge eines Alkalimetall-alkoholats während der angegebenen Reaktionszeiten bei bestimmten Temperaturen (3. Spalte) mit
116 g 1-Methyl-i-oxo-phospholin umgesetzt. Der Umwandlungsgrad nach der jeweils vorgegebenen Reaktionszeit wird wie
zuvor durch Gaschromatographie bestimmt.

Beispiel 16
58 g i-Methyl-i-oxo-phospholin-Isomerengemisch und 45 g
n-Butylmercaptan werden gemischt und dann mit ca. 0,1 g elementarem Natrium versetzt. Das Natrium löst sich beim
Erwärmen in der Reaktionsmischung auf. Nach 16 Stunden
bei 95 - 1000C, wird destilliert. Nach 15,5 g Vorlauf werden
72 g 1-Methyl-i-oxo-butylmercapto-phospholin (Kp2 156-160 C)
erhalten, das entspricht 70 % der Theorie.
