Description
Aus der Literatur sind nur wenige Beispiele nicht enzymatischer. asymmetrischer Katalyse unter C C-Verknüpfung
bekannt. J. F u r u k a w a et al (Bulletin of the chemical Soc. uf Japan, Vol. 41 [1968]. S. 155)
beschreibt die Synthese optisch aktiver Trimethy!- cyclododecatriene aus Pentadien-(I,3) unter Verwendung
eines Katalysators aus Titan-tetra-methoxyl und Diäthylaluminiummonochlorid bei -t-40 C. über die
Ausbeute an optisch aktiven Produkten und deren optjsche Reinheit werden nur unzureichende Angaben
gemacht. Nach den angegebenen Daten liegen die Ausbeuten nicht höher als 10% bzw. 4%. Die Autoren,
weisen selbst daraufhin, daß die optischen Reinheiten
nicht hoch sein können, da die Drehungen gering sind.
H. Nozaki et al (Tetrahedron, Vol. 24 [1968'J.
S. 3655) erhalten mit einer optischen Ausbeute von weniger ais 8% irans-l-Meihyl-2-phenylcyclopropan
aus Diazomethan und I-Methyl-2-phenyl-äthylen bei
60 C mit Hilfe eines Katalysators, bestehend aus einem optisch aktiven KupferdD-KompIex. Kupfer(J)-chlorid-Katalysatoren
mit komplexgebundenen Trialkyl- oder Triaryl - phosphitligandcn wurden von
W R. M öse r (J. Am. Soc. 91 : 5 [1969]. S. 1135) zur
Synthese optisch aktiver Cyclopropanderivate aus Äthyldiazoacetat und Styrol eingesetzt. Das ((- )-Tribornylphosphit)-Kupfer(J)-ch!orid
lieferte bei 30 bis 60 C das entsprechende Cyclopropanderivat mit einer optischen Ausbeute von etwa 3%.
Die nach den genannten Methoden zu erzielenden optischen Reinheiten sind unbefriedigend. Dies beruht
darauf, daß einerseits die induzierenden Gruppen am
Katalysator während der Reaktion gegen inaktive Gruppen ausgetauscht werden und daß andererseits
die in den Beispielen erwähnten Reaktionen nur bti
relativ hohen Temperaturen ablaufen.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man optisch aktive
Kohlenwasserstoffe aus optisch inaktiven Kohlenwasserstoffen unter C- C-Verknüpfung mit Hilfe
optisch aktive Zentren enthaltender Katalysatoren in bisher durch kein katalytisches Verfahren eraelbaren
optischen Reinheiten dadurch herstellen kann, daß man bei Temperaturen von etwa -120 bis etwa
+ 100 C auf Olefine Kalalysatorgemische einwirken
läßt, die aus Nickelverbindungen und aus Aluminiumalkylen oder Alkylaluminiumhalogeniden oder Aluminiumhalogeniden
und optisch aktiven Phosphinen PR3, die das~Phosphoratom als chirales Zentrum und
oder optisch aktive Reste R enthalten, erhallen werden.
Die aus der Literatur bekannten und eingangs beschriebenen Katalysatoren sind nicht in der Lage,
zwei verschiedene ungesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffe unter Ausbildung optisch aktiver Zentren zu verbinden.
Die für die Synthese geeigneten optisch inaktiven Ausaangsverbindungen sind ungesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffe,
wie offenkettige bzw. cyclische Einfach- bzw. Mehrfacholcfine, bei deren C -C-Verknüpfun»
chirale Zentren entstehen können.
Für die Herstellung der Katalysatoren werden Verbindungen des Nickels, wie rr-Allyl — Ni - X

Von diesen Nickelverbindungen seien als besonders bevorzugt noch erwähnt NickeKIH-verbindungcn. wie
Nickelhydroxyd. Nickelsulfid, Nickelchlorid, Nickclcyanid.
Nickelbromid. Nickeljodid, Nickelcarbonat.
Nickelformiat, Nickelacetat, Nickeloxalal, Nickelbenzoat.
Nickelacetylacetonat, Nickelacetessigester. Nickelbenzoyhicetonal. Nickeldimethylglyoxim, Nikkeioxyd
oder Nickeltetracarbony! oder aber Nickel-(O)-Verbindungen,
wie Nickeltetraphenylisonitril.
Nickel-tetra-p-brom-phenylisonitril. Nickel-monocarbonyl-iri-methyl-isonitril
oder Nickcl-bis-acrolein. Nickel - bis - acrylnitril. Nickel - bis - acrylnitril - dipyridyl.
Nickel-bis-fumaronitril, Nickel-bis-zimtsäurenitril
oder Bis-.T-allyl-nickel, Bis-cyclooctadien-nickcl
eingesetzt.
Als weitere notwendige Bestandteile, aus denen das Katalysatorgemisch bereitet wird, kommen Alluminiumalkyle,
Aluminiumalkylhalogenide oder Aluminiumhalogenide,
wie Aluminiumtrialkyle, Dialkylaluminiumhydride. Dialkylaluminiumhalogenide. Alkylaluminiumsesquihafogenide,
Aikylaluminium-dihalogenide. Dialkylaluminiumalkoxyle zum Einsatz. Werden
NickeKII)-Verbindungen eingesetzt, müssen diese
Verbindungen reduzierende Gruppen enthalten.
Als die optische Aktivität induzierende Verbindungen für das Katalysatorgemisch werden erfindungsgemäß
Phosphine PR3 eingesetzt, die entweder das Phosphoratom als cbiraSes Zentrum enthalten, wobei
m Phosphor drei verschiedene Reste R gebunden
sind und eines der Ewmtiomercn (*PR,R,R3) durch
Racematspaltung nach bekannten Methoden gewonnen wurde, oder in denen optisch aktive Reste R* an
das Phosphoratom (PRjN11Rn) gebunden sind Auch
die Kombination beider Typen ist möglich, so daß Phosphine mit chiralem Phosphor und optisch aktiven
Resten, z. B. I+PR1R2Rf). eingesetzt werden können
Charakteristische Beispiele für die genannten drei Typen sind

Besonders leicht herstellbar und zugleich hoch wirksam sind die Phosphine des 2. Typs, da man zu
ihrer Herstellung auf optisch aktive Naturprodukte zurückgreifen kann, ohne daß Racematspaltungen
durchgeführt werden müssen. Die besten Ergebnisse liefert das eriindungsgemäße Verfahren, wenn Phosphine
eingesetzt werden, deren Reste R hohe Raumbeanspruchung aufweisen. s
Das neue Verfahren läßt sich innerhalb eines weiten Temperaturbereiches, nämlich zwischen etwa -120
bis etwa + 100 C durchführen. Die bevorzugten Reaktionstemperaturen
liegen zwischen —78 und 0 C.
Die Umsetzung kann bei Atmosphärendruck durchgeführt werden, aber ebenso bei erhöhtem Druck, der
durch den Dampfdruck der Olefine und des verwendeten Lösungsmittels bei der Reaktionstemperatur
bestimmt wird.
Das neue Verfahren kann in einem inerten Lösungsmittel
durchgeführt werden. Geeignete Lösungsmittel sind beispielsweise chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie
Chlorbcnzol oder Meihylchlorid. Es empfiehlt sich,
sorgfältig gereinigte und wasserfreie Lösungsmittel zu
ίο verwenden.
Mit Hilfe des erfindungsgcmäßen Verfahrens lassen
sich erstmals optisch aktive Kohlenwasserstoffe auf katalytischem Wege herstellen, die außer den chiralcn
C-Atomen reaktionsfähige Gruppen enthalten, so daß weitere Umwandlungen möglichsind. Soliefertz. B.die
Polymerisation des verfahrensgemäß herstellbaren, optisch aktiven Vinylcyclooktens optisch aktive Polymere.
Die Umsetzung des Vinylcyclooktens mit Borwasserstoffen bzw. Aluminiumwasserstoffcn. anschließende
Oxydation und Hydrolyse liefern optisch aktiven Cyclooktenylälhylalkohol. Auf Grund der weitgehenden
Zugehörigkeit der Vcrfahrensprodukle zu jeweils einer der möglichen optischen Reihen (</ bzw. /
oder R bzw. S) können physiologisch interessante Prodokte abgeleitet werden, die als Arzneimittel verwendet
werden können
In eine Lösung von 1.845 μ ( = 10.25 mMo!) -r-Alhlnickelbromid,
5.429 g (= 12.30 mMol) (-)-Tri-(transmyrtanyl»-phosphin

Cyclookiadien-(1.3) in 300 ml Chlorbenzol leitet man
bei 0 C unter Ruhren Äthylen von 1 alü bis zur Sätligung
ein und startet die katah tische Reaktion durch Zugabe einer Lösung von 6.51g I= 26.3OmMoI)
Äthylaluminiumsesquichlorid in 85 ml Chlorben/ol
(innerhalb von 10 Minuten). Die Äth>ienzufuhr bei - 5 bis 0 C wird unter Rühren 6 Stunden fortgesetzt:
danach bricht man die Reaktion durch Einleiten gasförmigen Ammoniaks in die I ösung bei -30 C ab.
Die Reaktionsmischung wird auf +20 C erwärmt. wobei der Hauptanteil derÄthylendimeren entweicht:
durch Destillation im Vakuum (0.2 bzw. 10 '* Torr) wird das restliche Reaktionsprodukt vom Katalysator
getrennt.
Äthylentrimere (Kp. 52 bis 70 C 760 Torr) sowie
Chlorbenzol (Kp. 51 bis 52 C 30Torr) und nicht umgesetztes Cyclooktadien-(1.3) (Kp. 51 bis 52 C
30 Torr) werden zunächst ar einer Vjgreux-Kolonne grob abgetrennt: anschließend destilliert man an einer
1-m-Drehbandkolonne und erhäi '*"·.■ ;-?r Fraktion
vom Kp. 78 bis 83.5 C/30 Torr. · - -12.1
(c - 1,88, C6H6). bestehend aus 1,1% ^ dooktadien-(1.3),
0.2% Chlorbenzol. 89,0% 3-Vinylcyclookten.
8.0% 3-Äthylidencyclookten eis und trans, sowie 39.9 g einer Fraktion vom Kp. 83,5 bis 111 C-30 Torr.
[«]■" - -0,9 (c = 2.4. C6H6) mit der Zusammensetzung:
3,4% Vinylcyclookten, 83.5% eis und Irans 3-Äthylidencyclookten: der Rest besteht aus Olefinen
im C^-Bereich. Der Destillationsrückstand (29.3 g) [,z]2>
= -4,3 (c = 7.92. C6H6) enthält C,,-Olefine
und höhere Oligomere.
Das durch präparative Gaschromatographie in reiner Form isolierte 3-Vinylcyclookten zeigt einen
Drehweit von [α]25 ό 8 = - 13.6 (c - 3.82. C6H6). entsprechend
einer optischen Ausbeute von 8 bis 9%. Der Drehwert des durch unabhängige Synthesen und
Racematspaltung erhaltenen optisch reinen l-)3-Vinylcyclooktens
beträgt [-i]f = -162 (c = 4.8,C6H6).
Analog dem Beispiel 1 wird zu einer Lösung von 0.310 g (= 1,73 mMol) .i-Allylnickelbromid, 0,879 g
(= 1,99 mMol){-)Tri-(trans-myrtanyl)-phosphin und 26,0 g (=241 mMol) Cyclooktadien-d.3) in 100 ml
Chlorbenzol in Gegenwart von Äthylen (latü) bei -40 C eine Lösung von !,062g (= 4,3OmMoI)
Äthylaluminiumsesquichlorid in 30 ml Cblorb;nzo! über einen Zeitraum von einer Stunde zugepiben.
Äthylen wird noch eine weitere Stunde bei - 45 bis —40 C eingeleitet, dann arbeitet man gemäß Beispiel 1
auf. Man erhält 3,5 g einer Fraktion mit Kp. 78 bis 83,5 C/30 Torr, [«]? 0'J = -27,9 Ic = 8.28. C0H0).
bestehend aus 4,0% Cyclooktadien-(1,3). 86,4% ?-Vinylcyclookten und 6,4% eis- und trans-3-Äthylidencyclookten.
Der Rückstand (4.9 g). {ti]" = -7,7
[c = 5,43, C0H6), besteht 7<\ 44.5% aus eis- und so
trans-S-Äthylidencyclooklen und zu 55% aus C12-Kohlenwasserstoffen
und höheren Olefinen. Das in reiner Form isolierte 3-Vinylcyclookten zeigt einen
Drehwert von [«]? = -33,3' {c = 8,44, C6H„). entsprechend
einer optischen Ausbeute von 20 bis 21%.
Analog dem Beispiel 1 wird zu einer Lösung von 0,206 g (= 1,52 mMol) .-r-AIIylnickelchlorid, 0,366 g
(= 1,83 mMol) (-)Menthyldimethylphosphin ([</]£
= - 119 ; c = 9,64, C6H,,; Kp. 5 Γ C'0,1 bis 0,2 Torr)
und 29.6 g( = 274mMoI)Cyciooktadien-(l.3)in 120 ml

wird noch weitere 6 Stum'en bei 0 C in die I ösung
eingeleitet und dann das Reaktionsgemisch aufgearbeitet:

bestehend zu 76.1% aus 3-Vinylcyclooktsn und zu
?3'o% aus eis- und transO-Älhylidencyclookten. Daraus
errechnet sich für reines 3-Vinjlcyclookten (2.10 g)
ein Drehwert von [«]ff = + HU . entsprechend einer
optischen Ausbeute von 6 bis 7%.

Lösungen von 0.206 g(= l,52mMol) .7-Alhlmckelchlorid
0593 μ(= 1.83 mMol) Dimenthylncthylphosphin([«]?

0.1 bis 0.2 Torr) und 29,6 g (= 274 mMol) Cvclooktadien-11.3)
in 120 ml Lösungsmittel werden bei verschiedenen
Reaktionstemperaturen (s. Tabelle) in Gegenwart von Äthylen mit Lösungen von 0.94 g
(= 3.81 mMol (Äthylaluminiumsesquichlorid ui 20 ml
Lösungsmittel versetzt. Nach 6 Stunden wird iiemäß Beispiel 1 aufgearbeitet. Die C6-Fraktion l/wlnlcntrimere)
enthält unter anderem das optisch aktive 3-Methylpenten-l (Kp. 54,3' C/760Torr), &s.>
-.!urch Feinfraktionierung isoliert wird.
Die Reaktionsbedingungen, die verwendeten Lösungsmittel,
die Ausbeuten an 3-Methylpenten-l bzw. 3-Vinylcydookten sowie die optischen Ausbeuten sind
in der Tabelle zusammengestellt.

Analog dem Beispiel 1 wird zu einer Lösung von 0,239 g (= 1,75 mMol) ,-t-Allylnickelchlorid, 0,350 g
(= 2,11 mMol) optisch aktives Phenylmethyl-n-propylphosphin
(K. Naumann, G. Z on, K. Mi slow, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 91 [1969] S. 7012) (charakterisiert
als Phenylmethyl - benzyl - η - propylphosphoniumbromid;
Kp. 196 bis 202"C, [«]? = -35", c = 1,0,
CH3OH) und 28,3 g (=265 mMol) Cyclooktadien-(l,3)
in 100ml Chlorbenzol in Gegenwart von Äthylen (latü) bei -4(FC eine Lösung von 1,09g
(= 4,38 mMol) Äthylaluminiumsesquichlorid in 10 ml Chlorbenzol innerhalb von 5 Minuten zugegeben und
anschließend Äthylen innerhalb von 3 Stunden bei — 40° C in die Lösung eingeleitet. Die Aufarbeitung
liefert 0,45 g einer Fraktion Kp. 78 bis 82 C/30 Torr, [«]? = +17,3° (c = 2,5, C6H6). bestehend aus 8,8%
Cyclooktadien-( 1,3) und 89,9% S-Vinylcyclookten. Für
reines 3-Vinylcyclookten errechnet sich [«]!"
= +19,25 entsprechend einer optischen Ausbeute von !2%,
In eine Lösung von 0,480g (= 1,86 mMol) Nickclacetylacetonat,
0,945 g (= 2,14 mMoi) (-)Tri-(transmyrtanyD-phosphin
und 26,3 g (= 244 mMol) Cyclooktadien-(1.3)
in 100 ml Chlorbenzol tropft man unter Rühren bei —40 C innerhalb von 15 Minuten eine
Lösung von 1,15 g (= 4,65 mMol) Äthylaluminium-
sesquichlorid in 10 ml Chlorbenzol ein. Man sättigt bei — 400C mit Propylen von 1 atü, wärmt auf O0C nuf
und leitet v/eitere 20 Stunden Propylen unter Rühren ein.
Durch Zugabe von 10 ml konzentriertem Ammo-
niak wird die Reaktion abgebrochen, die organische Schicht unter Luftzutritt mit verdünnter Salzsäure
geschüttelt, neutral gewaschen und mit CaCI2 getrocknet.
Propylendimere (15 g, Kp. 54 bit- 72"C/ 760 Torr)
und Chlorbenzol werden an einer 0,7-m-Vigrcuxkolonne grob abdeslilliert, der Destillationsrückstand
im Hochvakuum umkondensiert (Badtemperatur bis 50'C). anschließend destilliert man an einer 0.7-m-
Drehbandkolonne weiter. Man erhalt 24,5 g C,
fine(Kp.98bis 104° 0/3OTon-: M? =4,65 .M™$
bestehend aus 27,0% 3-lsopropenyicyoook enu 57,5 /o
Fraktion mit Kp, 104 bis 136°C/30Torr; [α]? = 0,5°,
(unverd.), Das 3-Isopropenylcyclookten (in 78%iger
Reinheit) bzw, Bicydo-f6,3,O]-uhdeccn-(3) (in 93%iger
Reinheit) zeigen Dreh werte yon [«]? == I6,I°(c — 7,4,
$ PenlanJ bzw, [«]i5 = +47° (c = 9,9, Pentan).
Claims (5)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung optisch aktiver Kohlenwasserstoffe aus optisch inaktiven Kohlen-Wasserstoffen
unter C-C-Verknüpfung mit Hilfe optisch aktive Zentren enthaltender Katalysatoren
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man bei
Temperaturen von etwa -120 bis etwa +100 C auf Olefine Katalysatorgemische einwirken laß'
die aus Nickelverbindungen und aus Aluminiumalkylen oder Alumjniumalkylhalogeniden oder
Aluminiumhalogeniden und aus optisch aktiven Phosphinen PR3, die entweder das Phosphoratom
als 'chirales Zentrum und/oder optisch aktive '5 Reste R enthalten, erhalten werden.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man als Nickelverbindungen Nickelhalogenide. Nickelsalze organischer Säuren. Nikkelalkoholate.
Nickelenolate. Nickelphenolate to
oder .i-Aliylnickclhalogenide verwendet.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2. dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß mit Nickeil 11 !-Verbindungen
Aluminiumalkyle oder Aluminiumalkjlhalocenide
verwendet werden.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 3. dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man bei Temperaturen von
- 78 bis 0 C arbeitet.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 4. dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Lösungsmittel Halogenkohlenwasserstoffe
verwendet.
