Organische Schmiermittel
Die Erfindung betrifft verbesserte organische Schniierraittelzxisajniaense'bisungen und unter einem Gesichtspunkt
insbesondere verbesserte organische Schmiermittelzusaflimensetzungen
auf der Grundlage von flüssigen und festen kohienwaeserstoffhaltigen Materialien, die normalervmise
zu einer Reaktion mit und Eorrosion von Metalloberflächen
unter Betriebsbedinguhgen neigen. Die verbesserten
organischen Schmiermittel zusammensetzungen gemäß der '...-. Erfindung können in BOrm von Sehmierölen, Schmierfetten
u.dgl. vorliegen, welche im Zustand ohne Iniiibitorzusatz
dazu neigen, mit Metalloberflächen,' mit denen sie bei der beabsichtigten Verwendung in Berührung kommen, zu reagieren
und diose zu korrodieren.
Bs ist bekannt, daß Schmieröle und Schmierfette, die

derartige öle als Sckmiermittelgruiiaiagen (lubrica-.tins
vehicles) enthalten, einen Verschleiß von .Metalloberflächen
unter Betriebsbedingungen verursachen, beispielsweise-
beim- Einsatz als Schmiermittel in Verbrennung skr aftmasciiinen
und als Schmierstoffe für"verschiedene Arten
von mechanischen Einrichtungen und ArbeitsmaßnahEien, z.B.
als Getriebeöle, Bohröle, Schneidöle und andere Formen von schmierenden Liedien. Produkte, die sich in dem Öl bilden, sind von saurer Satur und haben eine schädliche Wirkung
auf Metallteile,-, mit =denen die öle oder ]?ette in Berührung
kommen können. Weiterhin können derartige Produk- te
bei Anwendung in !"Orm von Schmierölen zur Bildung von
Lacken oder Sehlammablagerungeri auf Metalloberflächen führen
und hierdurch die Betriebsleistung herabsetzen, beispielsweise bei Verwendung als Maschinenöle« Weiterhin ist
es bekannt, daß feste Schmiermittel in j?orm von 8chmierfetten
dazu neigen, in ihren schmierenden Eigenschaften
unter den Beanspruchungen der Verwendung bei Umgebungs—
bediri;jungen beeinträchtigt zu werden, so daß sie·.hinsichtlich
der Gewährleistung gLiter Aiitiverschleißeigenschaften
unwirkssja werden können. -
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, organische
Schmiermittelzusammensetzungen mit verbesserten Antil:orrosionseigenschaften
au schaffen, Insbesondere organische Schmiermittelausamraensetsuiigen in Porur von flüssigen
und festen kohlenwassei-stoffhaltigen Matei'ialien mit einem

an Additiven, die zur Teriiinderting eines VerschlelBes
■und einer ocbädigung oder Beeinträchtigung von Metalloberflächen
in tier Iiage sind. Im Susainmenliang hiermit .bezweckt clie Erfindung weiterhin die Angabe von wirksamen
iiorrosionsliemaenderi Additiven z-ur Einverleibung in organische
Sclroieriiiittel der vorgenannten Art.

Es -vTLirde gefunden, daß die vorgenannten korrosiven
Eigenschaften von organischen Materialien", insbesondere in'
Forti von. flüssigen, und festen -Schmieruitteln-., in jcrirksaraer
T/eise beseitigt werden können, wenn man den Materialien
kleine, zur Unterdrückung derartiger Korrosionen hinreichende
Sengen eines synergistisca wirkenden Gemiscas aus
einem Salz- einer Dialkylditliiopbospkorsäure und einem-ΤΓ::iadiasol
einverleibt. Allgemein sind also erfinduiigsgemäß
organische ociinieraittelzusammensetzungen vorge-sehen,
die noriBalervveise eine Korrosion von Metalloberflächen
verursache!?- .würden Lind die eine geringe Menge des vorgenannten Gjnei'gistisclieii Geiaisciis als Antikorrosionsmittel
enthalten, gewöhnlich, von etwa 0,01 bis etv/a -2C. de^.-^ö und
vorzugsweise von etwa 0,^1 bis etwa 2 Gew.-%.r bezogen auf
das Gesamtgewicht der Zusammensetzung. In dem synergistischen
AcMi tivgeaiisch selbst können das Salz der DialkylditjjiopUoE-phorsäure-
und das Sliiadiaaol jedes in einer konge

-- Ein besonderes Anwendungsgebiet ist die Verbesserung
von flüssigen"Kohlenwasserstoffen, die als Schmiermittel
verwendet werden, einschließlich jeglicher herkömm- "
licher Kohlenwasserstofföle mit Schmierinittelviskositäten.
Diese können mineralische oder synthetische Schmieröle, aliphatisclie Phosphate, Ester und Diester, Silicate,
Siloxane, Oxalkyläther oder Ester umfassen. Die als Schmiermittel
verwendeten Mineralschmieröle können irgendeine geeignete Schmiermittelviskosität aufweisen, z.B. im- Bereich
von etwa .4-5 bis etwa 6000 SSU bei. 330Q. (10O0IT) - und vorzugsweise
von etwa 50 bis etwa 250 SSU bei 99°C (21O0F).
Die Öle können.Viskositätsindizes von unter 0 bis etwa
100 oder höher aufweisen. Viskositätsindizes von etwa 70
bis etwa 95 werden bevorzugt. Die mittleren Molekülargewichte
dieser Öle können beispielsweise im Bereich von etwa 250 bis etwa 800 liegen.
Wie bereits angegeben, können die vorgenannten
synergistischen Additivgemische auch als Antikorrosions-
und Antioxydationsmittel in Schmierfettsusammensetzungen
einverleibt werden. Derartige Schmierfette umfassen Kombinationen
mannigfaltiger Schmiermittelgrundlagen mit mannigfaltigen
Verdickuiigs- oder" Gelierungsmittein. So können..
Schmierfette, in denen die vorgenannten Additivgemische
besonders wirksam sind, irgendwelche der vorgenannten herkömmlichen ICohlonwasseTfto Tföle von Sclimiermittelvlskosität

als ölgrundlage umfassen "and irgendwelche-der "vorgenannten
mineralischen oder synthetischen Schmieröle der angegebenen Art einschließen. .
Bei der Bildung von verbesserten.Schmierfetten
unter Einverleibung der vorgenannten Additivgeiaische kann
die V/aiii hinsichtlich der Verblendung eines Mineralöls oder
eines synthetischen Öls von Schmieririittelviskosität am
besten aufgrund der Art der beabsichtigten Verwendung des ScLraierfetts und der dabei auftretenden Umgebtmgsbe-·
dingungen erfolgen. So können, wenn von dem fertigen Schmierfett keine Hochtemperaturbeständigkeit gefordert
wird, llineralöle mit einer Viskosität von mindestens AO SSU
bei 330C (1000P) und insbesondere solche, die in den Bereich
von etwa 60 bis etwa 6000 SSU bei 380C (1000F) fallen,
mit gutem Erfolg verwendet werden» In Fällen, wo synthetische Träger anstelle von Mineralölen oder in Kombination
damit als Schmierraittelgrundlage verwendet werden, können
zahlreiche Verbindungen dieser Art erfolgreich eingesetzt v/erden. Za typischen synthetischen Trägern gehören: Polypropylen, Polyprapylenglykol, Trimethylolpropanester,
lieopentyl- und Pentaaerythritester, Di-(äthylhexyl)-sebaca'b,
Di-(2-äthylhexyl)-adixjat, Dibutylphthalat, Fluorkohlenlwerß-'
seaflstoffe, iiilicateßter, »3ilane, Ester von phosphorhalt igen
Säuren, flüssige Harnstoffe, Ferrocenderivate, hydrierte
Mineralöle, kettenarbige Polyphenyle, Siloxane und Silicone (Polysiloxane), alkylsubstituierbe Diphenyläther, z.B.

butyl substituiert er 3is(p-phenoxy-phenyl)-äther, Phenoxyphenyläther,
usw.'
- Die Schmiermittelgrundlagen der vorgenannten verbesserten
Schmierfette gemäß der Erfindung mit einem Gehalt
an den vorstehend beschriebenen Additivgemischen werden mit einer sctuaierf ettbildenden Menge eines Verdickungsmittel
s vereinigt» Hierzu können mannigfaltige Materialien verwendet werden. Diese Verdickungs- oder Gelierungsiaittel
können irgendwelche der herkömmlichen Metallsalze oder
-seifen einschließen, die in der Schmiermittelgrundlage in
schmierfettbildenden Mengen in einem solchen Ausnaß dispergiert
werden, daß sie der sich ergebenden Schniierf ettzusanimensetzung
die gevriinschte Eonsistenz verleihen. Andere in den Schmierfettzusammenstellungen verwendbare Verdikungsmittel
können Eiiclitseifen-Yerdickungsfälttel, z.B.
oberflächenabgewandelte !one und Silieiumdloxyde, Arylharnstoffe,
Galciumkomplexe und verschiedene andere Materialien umfassen. Allgemein können Schmierfettverdicker verwendet werden, die nicht ziim Schmelzen und Auflösen
neigen, wenn sie bei der erforderlichen Temperatur In der
betreffenden besonderen Umgebung benutzt werden; nach allen
anderen Gesichtspunktenkann jedoch irgend ein Material,
wie es normalerweise zur Verdickung oder Gelierung von
Kohlenwasserstoffmedien zur Bildung von Schmierfetten benutzt
wird, bei der Herstellung der-verbesserten"Schmierfette
gemäß der Erfindung verwendet werden.

Das Salz der Dialkyldithiophosphorsäure, das in
den syriergistisciien Gemischen gemäß der Erfindung anwesend
ist, kann entweder in Form irgend eines He tall ω al ζ es oder
in Jj1OrDi irgend eines Amins al ze s der Dialkyldithiophosphorsäure
verwendet werden. Vorzugsweise werden Metallsalze von Dialkylditliiophösphorsäuren verwendet* bei denen die
Lietallkomponente beispielsweise Zink, Calcium, Barium, Blei,
Kagnesiuiii, Eictel, Eatriun, Kalium, Lithiunij Kupfer, Cadmium,
Aluminium, Kobalt, Mangan, Eisen, Zinn, Quecksilber oder Antiraon usafassen kann« Metallsalze von Dialfeylclithiopliospiiorsäuren,
bei denen d-as Metall aus den Gruppen I und II des Periodensystems stammt, führen zu den-günstigsten
Ergebnissen* v/eiin das Sal« der Biallvyldithiopliospiior-säure
in deia sjnergistisclien, G-emiscli in ϊοηπ eines Aminsalzes
anwesend ist, enthält die Amiiiogruppe vorzugsweise von
etv?a 1 bis etr/a 25 Kohleiistoff atoiie. Aainsalze Von .Dialkylditb.iöphospliorsäitren',
bei denen die Amino gruppe von etwa 8 bis etwa 13 Kohlenstoffatome enthält, führen zu den günstigsten
Ergebnissen. Das Aminsalz kann beispielsweise irgendeine
Atiinogruppe enthalten, die sich von paraffinischen
oder aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen, entweder.substituiert
oder unsubstituiert, ableitet. So können Aminsalze
von Dialkyldithiophosphorsäuren eingesetzt werden, in denen
die Aminocruppe von einem Octylamin, Dodecylamin, Oleylamin
o.dgl. staaiatt und. die Aminkomponente kann in FoX1Hi
eines primeren oder sekundären Amins vorliegen. Ein bοson-

ders günstiges Dialkyldithiophosphorsäure-Metallsalz ist
das Zinksalz von Biisöhexyldithiophosphorsäure. Ein besonders..günstige
ε Dithiophosphorsäure-Aininsalz ist das Oleylaminsalz
von Isopropyldithiophosphorsäurec
Die Thiadiazolkomponente der neuartigen syner- gistischen
Gemische gemäß der Erfindung kann irgendein '""■"·"
technisch zugängliches oder im Handel erhältliches Thia—
diazol umfassen. Als typische Beispiele seien die 2,5-Bis-(alkyldithio)-1,3,4-thiadiazole
und die 2,5-Bis(E',N-dialkylthiocarbam:yl)-i,
3,4—thiadiazole genannt. Spezifische bevorzugte
Beispiele für die in den synergistischen Gemischen gemäß der Erfindung verwendeten Thiadiazole sind u.a. ■
2-(n-Dodecyldithio)-benzthiazol, 2-(n-Hexyldithio)-benzthiazol,
2-(n-Dodecyldithio)-benzoxazol, 2-(n-Dodecylditliio)-benzimidazol,
2,5-Bis(n-dodecyldithio)-'1,3,4—thia—
diazol, 2,5~Bis(tert.-octyldithio)—1,3?4—thiadiazol und
2,5-Bi s (Ii, ίϊ-diätliyldithio c arb amyl) -1,3,4- thiadi azol.
Bei den neuartigen synergistischen Gemischen, die
in den organischen ochmiermittelzusammensetzungen gemäß der
Erfindung benutzt werden, handelt es sich also um Gemische
der vorgenannten. Salze von Dialkyldithiophosphorsäuren mit Thiadiazolen. Es wurde gefunden, daß zwar jede der vorgenannten
Komponenten bei alleiniger Verwendung in derartigen organischen Zusammensetzungen für eine Hemmung von Korrosion
und ^UaIitätsverminderung von Metalloberflächen wirksam ist,
daß aber bei Anwendung im Gemisch eine ausgeprägte syner-

gistische Wirkung erzielt wird, bei der die Wirksamkeit
einer "geden der Komponenten, d.h. des vorgenannten Salzes
und des Thiadiazole, deutlich über die nur additive Wirkung
hinausgeht. Diese synergistische Wirkung wird bei allen Verhältnissen zwischen den vorgenannten Salz- und Ihiadiazolkoniponenten,
wenn diese in !Combination vorliegen, beobachtet. Die nachstehenden Beispiele dienen zur weiteren
Veranschaulichung dieser synergistischen Wirkung der vorgenannten Komponenten in Additivgemischen bei Anwesenheit
in den neuartigen organischen Zusammenstellungen gemäß der Erfindung hinsichtlich der Korrosionshemmung von Metalloberflächen,
insbesondere bei Schmiermitteln.
Bach den Angaben der Beispiele der nachstehenden Tabelle I wurde eine Heihe von Korrosions-Yergleichsvers-achen
durchgeführt, um die synergistische korrosionshemmende
Wirkung bei Verwendung von Gemischen aus den vorgenannten Salzen der Dialkyldithiophosphorsauren und.der Thiadiazolkompon^nte
aufzuzeigen. Hierzu wurde ein Standard-ASIM-Test
D-13Q angewendet, bei dem ein Kupferstreifen in das
zu prüfende Material über einen Zeitraum von 3 Stunden eingetaucht und bei einer Temperatur von 1210O (250°^) darin
gehalten wird. Da schwefelhaltige Materialien bekanntlich
sehr korrosiv gegenüber Kupfer sind, wurde ein SAE.90
Grundschmieröl mit einem Gehalt an sulfuriertem Polyisobutylen
(rait einem 3chwefelgehalt von 47 Gew.-$ und einer
Verseifungszahl von 80) als Grundmaterial und Blindprobe

verwendet. -Dieses SAE 90 G-rundöl bestand zu etwa 70 Gev/.-'/i
aus Briglitstock (150 3.3U bei 99°C (210°ä?)) und zu etwa
30 Gew.-ja atis paraffinischein Öl (200 33U "bei 3H0G (1000F)),

Aus den Werten der Beispiele der vorstehenden
Tabelle I ist ersichtlich, daß das sulfuriertesPolyiso«
butyien enthaltende öl stark korrosiv gegenüber Kupfer ist,
mit einer Bewertung -von JB (Beispiel I)* Es wird keine
wahrnehmbare Verbesserung, erzielt, wenn ein Thiadiasöl
(Beispiel 2) oder wenn ein Salz einer Dialkyldithiophös~
pliorsäure (Beispiele 3 und 4-) anwesend ist* Wenn andererseits ein Gemisch aus dem Thiadiazol und den vorgenannten
Salzen in dem-Öl vorliegt, wird eine-ganz wesentliche :
synergistische Wirkung erreicht (Beispiele .5 und 6), mit einer
wesentlich" verbesserten Bewertung von 13» ■"■
Die Tabelle I zeigt weiterhin (Beispiele 7 bis
12), daß bei Zugabe eines Säuerungsioittels '(saures Gctylphosphat),
um ds.s Grundol noch korrosiver zu machen, wei»
terhin eine bedeutsame synergistische korrosionsheiiuflende
Wirkung erzielt wird, wenn das ÜJhiacLiazol und ein Dialkyl·*.
dithiOphosphorsäuresalz in Kombination miteinander verwendet werden. Es wird eine Verbesserung der Bewertung von
4A (Beispiele f bis 10) auf 2A (Beispiele 11 und 12) erreicht. '■-"..""
Aus: der nachstehenden Tabelle II geht die synergistische Wirkung wiederum klar hervor. Hier wurde ein
anderes sulfuriertes Polyisobutylen als bei den Untersuchungen gemäß Tabelle. I verwendet« Bei den Beispielen gemäß Tabelle Il wurde ein SAE 90 GrundSchmieröl mit einem

als Grundöl und Blindprobe benutzt. Dieses SAE 90 Grund—
öl bestand aus den gleichen Brightstock- und Ik?a£finölkomponenten
wie das Grundöl der Beispiele gemäß Tabelle I.
?/ie aus den Werten der Beispiele der vorstehenden Tabelle II hervorgeht, ist das sulfuriertes Polyisobutylen
enthaltende Öl korrosiv gegenüber Kupfer, wenn es dem vorgenannten Standard-ASTM-Test D-I30 unterworfen wird, mit
einer Bewertung von 2C (Beispiel 1). Eine geringfügige Verbesserung ergibt sich, wenn das Thiadiazol (Beispiel 2)
anwesend ist. Wenn das Salz der Dialkyldithiophosphorsäure
zugegen ist (Beispiele 3 und 4-), wird keine wahrnehmbare
Verbesserung erreicht. Andererseits wird, wenn ein Gemisch von dem Thiadiazol und den vorgenannten Salzenvin dem
Öl anwesend ist, eine beträchtliche synergistische Wirkung
mit einer verbesserten Bewertung von IB erzielt (Beispiele
5 und 6).
Die Tabelle II zeigt weiterhin (Beispiele 7 bis
12), daß bei Zugabe des vorstehend erwähnten Säuerungsmittels (saures Octylphosphat), um das Grundöl noch korrosiver zu machen, weiterhin eine beträchtliche synergistische korrosionshemmende Wirkung erzielt wird, wenn das
Thiadiazol und das Dialkyldithiophosphorsäuresalz in Kombination
miteinander verwendet werden. Es wird eine Verbesserung der Bewertung von ΨΒ, 2E, JB und 4-A (Beispiele
7 bis 10) auf 2A (Beispiele 11 und 12) erreicht.

noch eines anderen schwefelhaltigen Materials. Bei . "
den Beispielen der Tabelle Illwurde ein SAE 90 Grundschmier^
öl mit einem Gehalt an Di-tert.-"butyltrisulfid (etwa 25
GevTo-c/o Di-tert.-butyltetrasulfid enthaltend) als Grundmaterial
und Blindprobe benutzt= Dieses SiE 90 Grundöl enthielt die gleichen Brightstock- und Paraffinölkomponenten,
wie das .Grundöl der Beispiele gemäß den Tabellen I und II.
■ v7ie aus den Werten der Beispiele der vorstehenden Tabelle III hervorgeht, ist das Di-tert.-butyltrisulfid
enthaltende Öl stark korrosiv gegenüber Kupfer, wenn es
dem vorgenannten Standard-ASTM-Te st B-I30 unterwarf en-wird-,
mit einer Bewertung von 4B (Beispiel 1). Bs zeigt sich
keine w ahme limb are Verbesserung, wenn das Thiadiazol (Beispiel
2) oder wenn die Salze der Dialkyldithiophosphorsäureii
(Beispiele 5 und 4) anwesend sind. Andererseits \*;ird, wenn ein Gemisch von dem Thiadiazol und den vorgenannten
Salzen 'in dem öl vorliegt, eine bedeutende synergistische Wirkung mit einer verbesserten Bewertung von 1B
bzw. 2A erzielt (Beispiele 5 und 6).
Die Tabelle III zeigt weiterhin (Beispiele 7 bis 11), daß bei Zugabe des vorgenannten Säuerungsmittels
(saures Octylphosphat), um das Grundöl noch korrosiver
zu machen, weiterhin eine bedeutende synergistisclie korrosionshenimende
V/irkung erzielt wird, wenn das Thiadiasol
und die Dialkylditiilophosphorsäuresalze in Kombinat ion
TU98Z3/U33
verwendet werden. Es wird eine Verbesserung der Bewertung
von 4-C, 3B, 4C bzw. 43 (Beispiele 7, 8, 9 bzw. 10) auf
2A (Beispiel 11) erreicht*
Es ist ersichtlich, daß die verbesserten organiseilen
Schmierraittelzus.ammensetzungen gemäß der Erfindung,
sofern gewünschtr verschiedene andere Additive oder Gemische
von solchen zusätzlichen Additiven enthalten können, UEi ihre Eigenschaften reiter zu'verbessern. So können die
Schmiermittel gemäß der Erfindung beispielsweise zusätzlich
Höchstdruckadditive, Antioxidationsmittel, Antischaumbildungsmittel,
Eeinigungsmittel, Dispergieriftittel
u.dgl. enthalten. ..

Claims (1)
1» Organische Schmiermittel, wie Schmieröle und Schmierfette, die eine Schmierraittelprundlage tmd
ein Additiv zur- Hemming; einer Korrosion der geschmier—
ten Metallteile enthalten, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Additiv ein Salz einex>
Bialkyldithiophosphorsäure ■and ein Thiadiazol umfasst.
2* Schmiermittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß das Additiv 0,01 bis 20 Gew.—/» des
Schmiermittels ausmacht. -
3« Schniiecmittel nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Thiadiazol 20 bis 80 Gev;,-?o
des Additivs ausmacht. .
4·. Schmiermittel nach einem der Ansprüche
1 - 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Salz aus dem-Oleylaminsalz
von Isopropyldithiophosphorsäure oder dem
Zinksalz von Diisohexyldithiophosphorsäure besteht.
5· Schmiermittel nach einem der Ansprüche 1 - ^t-,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Thiadiazol aus 2,5-Bis(5-octyl-dithio)-1,3*4— thiadiazol, einem
2,5-Bis(alkyldithio)-'1,3,ζί—thiadiazol oder einen
2,5-3is(lT,ir-dialkyl-thiocarbamyl)-'l ,3,4-thiadiasol besteht.
