Description
Synthetische Schmiermittel auf Basis von Adipinsäure-, Sebacinsäure-
oder Azelainsäurederlvaten sind bekannt. Diese Pro»
dukte haben im allgemeinen niedrige Viskosität in der Größenordnung Ton 3 bis 7 öS bei 990C und finden Anwendung als
Schmiermittel in Düsentriebwerken, wo hohe Temperaturen und hohe Drehgeschwindigkeiten die Verwendung von Speslalschmlermltteln
erfordern« Es ist ferner bekannt» dafi seit kurzem synthetische Schmiermittel in Brennkraftmotoren oder zugehörigen
Apparaturen oder stationären Düsentriebwerken für Spezialzwecke, z.B. an den wartungsfreien ("filled for life")
Hinterachsen von Motorfahreeugen verwendet werden. Diese letst
genannten Schmiermittel, die in Motoren usw. mit niedrigeren Drehgesohwindigkeiten als Düsentriebwerke verwendet werden,
erfordert eine höhere Viskosität als die vorstehend genanntes
Werte von 3 bis 7 cS und basieren auf Verbindungen, wie Pentaerythrit. Diese Schmierstoffe haben den Nachteil hoher
KOBten, die auf die Grundkosten der Rohstoffe zurückzuführen
sind.
Gemäß der Erfindung erwies es sich nun als möglich, die Kosten des Grundmaterials oder Grundöls der Sohmiermittel zu senken,

ohne daß irgendwelche erwünschten Eigenschaften de« Schmiermittels
verschlechtert werden·
Darüber hinaus haben die erfindungsgenäSem Grundöle des
Sohmiemittel· hohe Yiskoaitätsindloe· in der Größenordnung
Ton UO. Die· 1st sehr günstig la Tergleieh su den Viskosität·
index Ton Mineralölen» die als Sehmiermittel-Grundöle Terwendet
werden und Viskosltätsindices bis etwa 90 haben. Der
Viakositätaindex ron Mineralölen kann dureh Zusatz Toh Verbindungen,
wie Poljjemrylaethycrylat, verbessert werden.
Wenn jedoch da» Schmiermittel Scher- und Schubbeanspruchungen unterworfen wird» z.B. bei Verwendung in Transmissionen,
Setrieben und Hinterachsen« bricht der ViskositätsindexTerbeeserer
zueaamen und da· Schmiermittel pflegt wieder sum Yiskoaitäsindex de· GrundÖles zurückzukehren· Daher müssen
Schmiermittel, bei denen Zusatzstoffe zur Verbesserung des Viskoeitätaindexes Terwendet werden» in ziemlich häufigen
Abständenaumgewechselt werden, während Schmiermittel» die
das erfindungsgemäSe Grundöl enthalten, diesen Nachteil nicht
aufweisen·
Gegenstand der Irfindung ist demgemäf ein sj&hetisch··
Schmiermittel, dessen Grundöl einen Mischester eine· alkoxyllerten
Polyöl» (der nachstehend bezeichneten Art) Bit wenig-
«tens zwei Carbonsäuren enthält» die jeweils 3 bis 15 C-Atome
enthalten.
Xm Bahnen der Beschreibung und Ansprüche ist unter ein·«
alkoxylierten Poly·! «in« Verbindung zm verstehen, dl« durch
Umsetzung eine· Polyols mit ein·· Alkylenexyd, da· wenigstes·
3 C-Atome enthält, hergestellt werden kann. Me· ist das
bevorzugte Verfahreε ear Herstellung de« alkoxylierten Polyöl·
aber die Erfindung ist nieht auf die verwendung Ton Verbindungen beschränkt, dl· la dieser speziellem «Tel·· hergestellt
worden sind*
Geeignete Polyol· sind frimethylolpropan, Glycerin, Pentaerythrit,
Dipentaerythrit, Sorbit und Neopentylglykol.

Ton den Alkylenoxyden wird Propylenoxyd boTorsugt, jedoeh
können auch Geaiache von swel oder mehreren verschiedenen
Alkylenoxyden für dl« umsetsang alt dem Polyol verwendet
werden. Daa alkoxylierte Polyol kaum 1 bis 24« vorsugsweise
1 bis 6 Alkoxy-Subetituentengruppe» pro Hydroxylgruppe dee
Polyols enthalten.
Al« Carbonaäuren werden allphatieehe elaeaelsche Säuren be«
voriugt. Geeignet simd die hochmolekularen Säuren« ft.B.
Heptanaäure, Capryleäure, Pelargoasämre, Caprineäure «ad
Laurlnaäure aowle Säuren tob niedrigere· Molekulargewicht,
■•Β. Propioneäure, Buttereäare und Taleriaasäure· Tersage»
weiee werden für die Teresterung dee alkexylierten Polyols
Oeaiaeho verwendet, die Säuren το» niedrieerea «ad höhere«

alkoxylierte Polyol saerst teilweise alt einer oder aehreren

höhermolekularen Säuren verestert und die Veresterung mit
einer oder mehreren Säuren τοη niedrigerem Molekulargewicht
rollendet. £8 let erwünscht, daß das Endprodukt keine
Hydroxylgruppen enthält. Daher wird das alkoxylierte Polyöl
mit der höheren Säure und anschließend mit der reaktionsfähigeren niedrigeren Säure umgesetzt, um sämtliche verbliebenen
Hydroxylgruppen su verestern.
Das Grundöl sollte mit anderen Grundölen, κ.1. den Mineralölen»
die unter der Bezeichnung "Pool 12" und "Brightstock",im
/mischbar sein. Als ungefährer Anhaltpunkt kann festgestellt
werden, daß das Sohmiermittel-Grundmaterial gemäß der Erfindung
mit Mineralölen um so verträglicher 1st, je höher das Verhältnis von Kohlenstoffatomen su Sauerstoffatomen
im Molekül ist· Vorzugsweise werden Verbindungen verwendet, in denen das Verhältnis von Kohlenstoffatomen zu Sauerstoffatomen
höher als 3,4»1 1st· Besonders bevorzugt werden Verbindungen, in denen das Verhältnis über 3,9*1 liegt·
Die synthetischen Schmiermittel gemäß der Erfindung eignen eich für hohe Beanspruchungen und haben hohe Temperaturbeständigkeit·
Ihre Schmiereigenschaften entsprechen denen eines Mineralschmieröls· Die Schmiermittel können andere üblich«
Clsusätze enthalten, z.B. Schlamm-Inhibitoren, Höchstdruckzueätze
und Antioxidantien, die allgemein bekannt sind«
Beispiele 1 bis 3
Herstellung des Folyol-Alkylenourd-Addukts
Das auf einen Wassergehalt von weniger al« etwa 0,3£ getrocknete
Polyol (Lösungsmittel, falls verwendet) und Natrlvvhydroxyd
in Schuppenform als Katalysator wurden in den Autoklaven gegeben. Das Gefäl wurde verschlossen« evakuiert and
das Vakuum mit Stickstoff aufgehoben· Dieser Vorgang wurde wiederholt« Das Gefäß wurde dann evakuiert und der Inhalt auf
130 bis 1400C erhitzt. Die gewünschte Klenge des Alkylenoxyde
wurde unter !uhren aufgedrückt. Die Zugab« wurde so geregelt»

daß der Druck im Gefäß etwa 2,8 atü nicht überstieg. Bann
wurde weiter «rhitat und gerührt» bie kein weiterer Druckabfall
eintrat· Daa Reaktionsgemiaeh wurd« auf 5O0C gekühlt.
Zur Entfernung von nicht umgeaetxtam Alkylenoxyd wurde
Vakuum an daa Gefäß gelegt.
Die Einzelheiten der Versuche und die Ergebnieae eind nachstehend
in tabelle 1 angegeben·

Druck entfernt und da« Produkt nach normalen Methoden, die but Reinigung τοη Eatern angewendet werden, gereinigt·

Aufgrund dieser Prüfungen wird angenesiaen, daß die beiden öle
hinsichtlich der Tragfähigkeit und Bruekaufnahmefähigkeit
identisch sind·
Bis Scherfestigkeit wurde durch Messung des Vlakositätalndexes
▼or und nach der Soherbeanapruohung eraittelt. Die Seherbeanspruchung
wurde erseugt, inde» da« Sehnleröl 43 Minuten
duroh einen Bieaelkraftstoff-Sinsprltser uvgewälst wurde·
Ss wurde berechnet, dafi die Umlaufseit 200 Durchgänge» durch
den Blnspritatr entsprach» Untersucht wurden das Produkt
gemäß Beispiel 6 uad ein Solvent neutral 150-01, da· It
