zu ihrer Herstellung
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Polymere, die wiederkehrende
Einheiten der allgemeinen Formell

Jedes ein Pluoratom oder ein perhalogenierter Alkyl rest, in dem jedes der Halogenatomen die gleioh oder verschieden
sein können, ein Fluor- oder Chloratom ist und an jedes Kohlenstoffatom mindestens 1 Pluoratom gebunden 1st, ist,
X ein Fluor-, Chlor-, Brom- oder Wasserstoffatom ist
und Y ein Fluor- oder Wasserstoffaton ist« enthalten.
Gegenstand der Erfindung 1st weiterhin ein Verfahren sur
Herstellung der obigen Polymeren, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, das »an «ine Verbindung der allgemeinen

In der R, R1, X und Y die oben angegebene Bedeutung haben,
in Gegenwart einer katalytisch aktiven Metallverbindung
und vorzugsweise bei einer Temperatur von 50 bis 200Ό
polymerisiert.
Geeignete Metallverbindungen sind FeCl2* A Ium in ium is ο-propoxyd*
TlCl, und ein Zinkdialkyl* wie Zn(C3Hc)2.
Das MolVerhältnis von Monomer zu Katalysator beträgt
zweokmäflig etwa 10:1 bis lOOOtl.
Wenn einer oder jeder der Reste R und R9 ein pernalögenierter
Alkylrest ist* so enthält dieser Rest vorzugsweise 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen und wenn jeder dieser Reste ein
perhalogenlerter Alkylrest 1st* so beträgt die Summe der Kohlenstoffatome in beiden Resten nicht mehr als 10.
Die so erhaltenen Polymeren sind* je nach ihrem Molekulargewicht»! viskose Ölartige Substanzen oder Feststoffe.
Sie können für die Herstellung von wasserabweisenden überzügen auf Geweben* Papier oder,anderen Materialien
nach herkömmlichen Verfahren verwendet werden. Diejenigen
Polymeren, in denen R und R* Perfluoralkylgruppen und X
und Y Pluoratome sind, verleihen den Trägern dl· beste
Wasserabweisung. Die ölartigen Polymeren können als Sohmlar- und Öleitmittel verwendet werden. Diejenigen
ölartigen Polymeren« in denen die Reste R und bzw. oder
R1 Chlor- oder Bromatom· enthalten, eignen sich am besten
al· Schmier- und Gleitmittel. Sin festes amorophes Polymer
kann als synthetischer Gummi verwandet warden.

Die als Ausgangsmaterialien für die Polymerisation verwendeten
Epoxidverbindungen können hergestellt werden, indem man die entsprechenden fluorierten Äther der
allgemeinen Formelt

entweder mit Allylalkohol« vorzugsweise unter Bestrahlung mit energiereichem Licht, bei Temperaturen von etwa 0 bis

oder mit Allylacetat in Gegenwart einer freie Radikale
erzeugenden Verbindung vorzugsweise bei einer Temperatur von etwa 50 bis 1900C zu einem Ester der Formelt

als Zwischenprodukt umsetzt und anschließend die Zwischenprodukte durch Umsetzung mit einem Alkalihydroxyd« das
vorzugsweise ale w&Brige Lösung zugesetzt wird« in die
gewünschten Epoxyverbindungen umwandelt. Die letztgenannte Umsetzung verläuft glat^t bei Raumtemperatur« wenngleich

gewünschtenfalIs auch höhere oder niedrigere Temperaturen
angewandt werden können. Geeignete, freie Radikale erzeugende Verbindungen sind beispieleweise organische
Peroxyde, wie Benzoylperoxyd und Di-tert-butyl-peroxyd,
sowie organische Azonitrile, wie α,α1-Azobisisobutyronltril,
α,α'-Azobis-a, ^dimethyl-valeronitril und
α,α*-Azobiscyclohexancarbonsäurenitril.
Die Herstellung der als Auegangsmaterialien verwendeten
fluorierten Äther ist in der Patentanmeldung P 15 68 042.9 derselben Anmelderin beschrieben.
55 g Allylalkohol und 100 g (CPy)2CF-O-CF2CF2J wurden in
einem mit RUckfluSkühler und magnetischem Rührer ausgerüsteten OlasgefKQ 72 Stunden bei etwa 80 bis 90"C unter
Rühren mit einer UV-Lampe bestrahlt« Das Produkt wurde fraktioniert destilliert und ergab in 79£-iger Ausbeute
eine Verbindung der Formel (CF^gCF-O-CPgCPgCHg'-CHJCHgO*!
vom Kp 86 bis <#ft/4o mm Hg und einem Brechungsindex
nj*2 - 1,3792.

25 g der erhaltenen Verbindung wurden mit einer Lösung von 2,4 g NaOH in 20 ml Wasser umgesetzt. Man trennte die
beiden sich bildenden Schichten voneinander und extrahierte dl« wKSrlge Phase mit DiKthylKther. Das Extrakt wurde mit
der organischen Phase vereinigt, und beide gemeinsam wurden fraktioniert destilliert, wobei 9*0 g der Verbindung
vom Kp 60 bis 66°C/4o mm Hg und dem Brechungsindex
jj β 1,3086 erhalten wurden.

1 Mol Allylacetat und 1 Mol (CP-. JgCP-O-CPgCPgJ wurden mit
0,2 Mol a,ctf-Azobisl8obutyronitrll vermischt, und das
Reaktionsgemisch wurde 5 Stunden lang unter Stickstoff
am Rückfluß erhitzt. Fraktionierte Destillation des Produktes ergab eine Verbindung der Pormel:
(CPj)2CP-O-CPgCPgCHg-CHJCHgO.
0,1 Mol dieser Verbindung wurden in Xther gelöst, und die
Lösung wurde mit 0,2 Mol NaOH versetzt und 5 Stunden lang am Rückfluß erhitzt. Durch fraktionierte Destillation
erhielt man die gleiche Epoxyverbindung wie nach dem
Verfahren' von Beispiel 1.
Weitere Epoxyverbindungen können gentffi den Verfahren von
Beispiel 1 und 2 aus den entsprechenden fluorierten Xthern
hergestellt werden. Beispiele für geeignete fluorierte Äther sind!

wurden in einem zugesonmolzenen Polymerisationsrohr 4
Tage auf 95% erhitzt. Daa erhaltenen Produkt wurde in
15 ml Trifluormethylbenzol gelöst, die Lösung mit 3 Tropfen konzentrierter HCl versetzt und ansohlieSend in Methanol
gegossen. Das Polymerisat sohied sich als viskose, gelbe Flüssigkeit ab, die sich am Boden des ReaktlonsgefS0es
absetzte. Man erhielt insgesamt 2,7 g Polymerisat mit einer reduzierten Viskosität von 0,08 in einer 1,4^-igen
Trifluormethylbenzollusung bei 250C. Das Polymerisat löste
sich in Trifluormethylbenzol und 1,2-Dichlorperfluorcyolohexen
und war in Xthanol und DiMthylXther unlöslich.
Bine Lösung des Polymerisates in Trifluormethylbenzol wurde
auf Papier aufgebracht, wonach nach Verdampfen des Lösungsmittels ein waseerabetoBtnder überzug auf dem Papier
erhalten wurde.

4. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Polymer nach einen der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet

besitzen, in Gegenwart einer katalytisch aktiven Metallverbindung und vorzugsweise bei einer Temperatur von
50 bis 200Ϊ polymerisiert.
5* Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch ge«
kennzelohnet , daß man als Ausgangsmaterial eine
Verbindung verwendet« in der R und R' jedes eine perhalogenlerte
Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und R und R* zusammen höchstens 10 Kohlenstoffatome
enthalten.
6. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch X, dadurch gekennzeichnet
, daß als Ausgangsmaterial eine Verbindung verwendet wird, in der R und R* Jedes ein TrI-fluoxmethylrest
und X und Y Jedes ein Pluoratom ist.
7. Verfahren gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet» daß als Katalysator Elsen(III)ohlorid verwendet wird.
