Polyurethane"
Wie bekannt, lassen sich nach dem Diisocyanat-Polyadditions-Verfahren
durch Umsetzung von höhermolekularen, linearen, bifunktionellen Polyestern, Polyäthern oder Polyesteramiden,
Diisocyanaten und niedermolekularen, ebenfalls bifunktionellen Kettenverlärigerern thermoplastisch verarbeitbare Polyurethane
herstellen.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man für die Herstellung thermoplastischer
Polyurethane einstelle der bisher dazu verwendeten Hydroxylpolyestern und oder -Polyäthern mit Vorteil auch PoIycaprolactone
mit endständigen freien Hydroxylgruppen und einem Molekulargewicht zwischen 800 bis 3000 einsetzen kann.
Grundsätzlich können für das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren alle
Polycaprolactone mit endständig freien Hydroxylgruppen benutzt werden, sofern sie ein Molekulargewicht über 800 besitzen und
im wesentlichen linearen Aufbau zeigen. · ,
Die Verarbeitung zu thermoplastischen Polyurethanen ist sowohl
im Einstufen- als auch Prepolymerverfahren möglich.
Als Kettenverlängerer sind dabei alle niedrigmolekularen DbIe
mit einem Molekulargewicht unter 500 verwendbar; beispielsweise:
1,H-Butandiol, 1,6-Hexandiol, 1,12-Dodecandiol und Hydrochinondi-glykolather. Ebenso lassen sich aber auch Gemische verschiedener Diole einsetzen. An Isocyanaten eignen sich für eine Uw-

Setzung die meisten aromatischen, aliphatischen und
cycloaliphatischen !Jiisocvanate , wie luDheny Imethan-4
,4f-diisocvanat, Hexainethylen-1,6-diis4cyanat, 1,4-D.L2 thylbenzjro-
I** H '-diisocyanat, Hexahydropf-phenylen-diisocyanat,
2,4-Toluviendiisocvanat und dessen technische Gemische mit
2,6-Toluylendiisocyanat.
Die Umsetzung erfolgt in der Warme, etwa bei 80 - 1600C, bevorzugt
zwischen 100 und 1300C. Sie kann in ihren molaren Relationen,
sowohl im Einstufen- als auch Prepolymerverfahren, in zwei voneinander grundsätzlich verschiedenen Weisen geführt
werden:
a) einmal mit einem Oberschuft an Diisocyanat, so daß
nach beendeter Reaktion im Reaktionsgut noch freie IsocyanatgruDDen vorhanden sind,
b) zum anderen mit im wesentlich chemisch äquivalent oder geringfügig im Unterschuß bemessenen Mengen
Diisocyanat, so daß am Ende der Reaktion praktisch kein freies, nicht umgesetztes Isocyanat und keine
oder nur geringe Anteile freie, nicht umgesetzte Hydroxylgruppen verbleiben.
Die Endprodukte aus diesen Materialkombinationen können in den Härtebereichen zwischen ca. 70 Shore A bis ca. 60 Shore D hergestellt
werden, auch gefüllt, weichgemacht oder gefärbt. Sie zeichnen sich durch hervorragende Eigenschaften aus. Ihre
Elastizität, Zerreißfestigkeit, Hydrolysenresistenz und ihr Abrieb sind ungewöhnlich gut. Daneben besitzen sie noch andere
gute physikalische Eigenschaften.
Insbesondere ist die Hydrolysenfestigkeit bei den Produkten
verbessert, die eine Hexamethylen- oder Dodecylengrup^itrung
im Molekülaufbau enthalten, wobei diese Gruppierungen, sowrohl
in der Diisocyanat- oder Glykol-(Kettenverlängerer)-K^eponente
oder in beiden Komponenten enthalten sein können.
Besonders hohe Zerreißfestigkeit und WeiterreiPfestigkeit werden
erhalten unter Verwendung von '♦,'»•-Diohenvlmefhaitdiiaopyena»

verbessert, besonders, wenn aTiphatd sclies oder
cycloaliphatisches Isocvanat zur Anwendung gelangt.
Das erfindunnsgemäße Verfahren wird an folgenden Beispielen
erläutert:
Beispiel 1: .
1000 Gewichtsteile eines Polycaprolactons vom Molekulargewicht
2000 und der Hydroxylzahl 514 werden entwässert und anschließend
bei ISO0C mit 50 Gewichtsteilen 1,4-Butandiol gemischt und mit
210 Gewichtsteilen 1,6-Hexamethylen-diisocyanat umgesetzt.
Das Reaktionsgut wird im noch flüssigen Zustand auf geheizte Bleche gegossen und 10 Minuten bei 150°C darauf belassen.
Nach anschließenden 4-8 Stunden Lagerung bei Raumtemperatur kann das Umsetzungsprodukt granuliert und auf üblichen'Spritzgußmaschinen, Extrudern oder Kalandern zum Fertigteil verarbeitet
werden. Danach werden die Teile 3 Tage bei 8O0C nachgeheizt.
Sie erhalten dadurch oder durch einfache sechsw^cnig»?
Lagerunp bei Raumtemoeratur ihre optimalen Eigenschaftswerte.
Die physikalischen Daten des auf diese Weise erhaltenen Produktes

umgesetzt. Dem so erhaltenen Polyesterurethan werden bei einer
Temperatur von 120°C unter gute» Umrühren 363 Teile 1,12-Dodeeandiol sugesdscht, Di« Weiterverarbeitung des Reaktionegutes erfolgt wie in Beispiel 1 beschrieben·

Claims (5)
- Patentanspruch(l.I Verfahren zur Herstellung thermoplastisch verarbeitbarer Polyurethane, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein Gemisch eines im wesentlichen linearem- Polycaprolactons mit einem Molekulargewicht von 800 - 3000 und einem niedrigmolekularen Glykol als Kettenverlängerer mit einem Molekulargewicht unter 500 mit Diisocyanaten im Einstufen- oder Prepolymerverfahren umgesetzt wird.
- 2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Diisocyanat U,1*1 -Diphenylmethandiisocyanat zur Anwendung gelangt.
- 3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein aliphatisches oder cycloaliphatisches Isocyanat zur Anwendung kommt.
- H, Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das niedrigmolekulare Glykol oder das Diisocyanat eine Hexanethylengruppierung besitzt.
- 5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das niedrigmolukulare Glykol oder das Diisocyanat eine Dodecylengruppierung besitzt.BAD
