Es ist bekannt, bei ölen durch Zusatz bestimmter 5 HN/
Polymerisate das Fließverhalten zu verbessern. So N
wird beispielsweise gemäß französischer Patentschrift
1 069 428 vorgeschlagen, bestimmte Polyamide zur Verbesserung des Fließpunktes von Schmierölen zu
verwenden. Abgesehen davon, daß die bekannten Polyamidzusätze nicht für Heiz- oder Treiböle eingesetzt
werden können, weil diese Polyamide wegen der zu kurzen Seitenketten mit 8 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen
keine Fließpunktemiedrigung ergeben, lassen .sie sich nur unter Schwierigkeiten herstellen, da von
dem giftigen Äthylenimin ausgegangen wird, das auch bei Einsatz der Zusätze in ölen als stark toxisch
wirkendes Gas abgespalten wird.
Es bestand daher die Aufgabe, wirksame und ungiftige
bzw. wirtschaftlich herstellbare Zusätze zur Fließpunktserniedrigung von Heiz- und Treibölen zu
finden.
Erfindungsgemäß wird diese Aufgabe gelöst durch
die Verwendung von Polymerisaten, die durch Um- [_ . COR5
setzung 1. einer Dicarbonsäure, an deren Kohlenstoff-
kette zwischen den beiden Carboxylresten ein C18- bis oder ' .
C^-Kohlenwasserstoffrest gebunden ist bzw. des ent- .
sprechenden Anhydrids oder Esters, mit 2. einem 9 9
Alkohol, Amin oder Oxyamin mit jeweils drei oder Il Il
mehr Hydroxyl- und/oder Aminoresten und 3. einer 3° HO C —R1 — C OR2 N
einbasigen Säure erhalten worden sind und ein Molgewicht
von 1200 bis 5000 besitzen, wobei die in der . R3O · COR5
Komponente 2 enthaltenen Aminoreste sekundäre Aminoreste sind, wenn die Kohlenstoffkette zwischen
den beiden Carboxylresten der Dicarbonsäure nur 35 2 oder 3 Kohlenstoffatome enthält, als Zusatz für Heizoder
Treiböle zur Fließpunkterniedrigung.
Die mit einer einbasischen Säure erhaltenen erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Polymerisate umfassen Verbindungen

Wenn sich die Polymerisate von Dicarbonsäureestern ableiten, entsprechen die Formeln den'oben

Es versteht sich, daß die oben gegebenen Formeln Durchschnittsstrukturen darstellen und daß bei statistischer
Betrachtung einige der Polymerisatmoleküle nur in Carboxylgruppen und andere nur in Hydroxylgruppen,
OR8-Gruppen oder Aminogruppen enden.
Die zweibasischen Säuren und Anhydride, aus welchen die Polymerisate hergestellt werden können,

Alkylengruppe, z. B. -(CH2LCHR1'-, ist,

obigen Definition entsprechen. Vorzugsweise ist die Zahl χ dabei sehr niedrig, z. B. 1 bis 5 ,und insbesondere
1, so daß die Säure oder das Anhydrid eine mit '. einem Kohlenwasserstoffrest substituierte Bernsteinsäure
oder ein entsprechend substituiertes Bernsteinsäureanhydrid ist.
Der als Substituent enthaltene Kohlenwasserstoffrest ist vorzugsweise eine Alkenylgruppe, kann jedoch
auch eine Alkylgruppe oder eine Alkinylgruppe sein. Zur Erzielung eines Polymerisats mit einer guten
fließpunkterniedrigenden .Wirkung besteht der Kohlenwasserstoffrest
vorzugsweise aus einem geradkettigen Rest. Vorzugsweise hat der Kohlenwasserstoffrest
eine Kettenlänge von 20 bis 40 Kohlenstoffatomen, insbesondere wenn das Polymerisat als
Fließpunkterniedriger für schwere öle mit einer kinematischen Viskosität von über IScSt bei 37,8° C
und mit mindestens 60 Gewichtsprozent bei Atmo^ Sphärendruck über 260° C siedenden Anteilen verwendet
wird. Geeignete Anhydride zweibasischer Säuren, in denen χ — 1 und R1 eine Alkenylgruppe
ist, können also durch Umsetzung eines normalen a-Olefins mit Maleinsäureanhydrid hergestellt werden.
An Stelle der Säure oder des Anhydrids können auch die entsprechenden Ester verwendet werden; besonders
geeignet sind dabei die mit niedrigsiedenden Alkoholen, z. B. aliphatischen C1- bis C5-Alkoholen, wie
Methanol, Äthanol oder Isopropanol, erhaltenen Ester.
Der Alkohol mit drei oder mehr Hydroxylgruppen ist vorzugsweise ein Triol, jedoch können auch
Tetrole, Pentole und höhere' Alkohole verwendet
werden. Im allgemeinen werden aliphatische Alkohole verwendet, jedoch können gegebenenfalls auch aromatische
Alkohole eingesetzt werden. Die~aliphatisehen

Vorzugsweise sind die Gruppen R2, R3 und R6 nicht
substituierte Alkylengruppen, welche jeweils 1 bis 10,-insbesondere 1 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten.
Wenn die Gruppen R2, R3 und R6 selbst mit einem
oder mehreren Kohlenwasserstoffresten substituiert sind, bestehen diese Substituenten vorzugsweise aus
aliphatischen Resten, z.B. Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie beispielsweise Methyl-,
Propyl- oder Hexylgruppen.

Die Gruppen R', R" und R'" können gleiche oder verschiedene Kohlenwasserstoffreste sein. Geeignete
und bevorzugte Beispiele für die Gruppen R2, R3,
R4 und R6 sind die gleichen, die im Zusammenhang
mit den aliphatischen Triolen gegeben wurden. Die Gruppen R', R"· und R'" sind vorzugsweise Alkylgruppen,
z. B. Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie Methyl-, Äthyl-, Butyl-, Hexyl- oder
Decylgruppen. Sie können jedoch auch aus. anderen Kohlenwasserstoffresten, wie Arylgruppen, zTB- PBenylgruppen,
oder Aralkylgruppen,z. B.Benzylgruppen, bestehen.
Als Beispiele für geeignete sekundäre Amine können l,2,3-Tri-(methylamino)-propan und 1-Methylamino-2-propylamino-4-methylamino-propan
genannt werden.
Die Oxyamine mit drei oder mehr Hydroxyl- oder sekundären Aminogruppen können beispielsweise sowohl
Hydroxyl- als auch sekundäre Aminogruppen enthalten, z. B. Verbindungen der Formeln

Trialkanolamine sind Triäthanolamin und Tripropanolamin. ■
Die Amine oder Oxyamine mit mindestens einer primären Aminogruppe können durch die Formel

dargestellt werden, worin R2, R3, R4, R6, X1, Y1, Z1,
a, b und c die gleiche Bedeutung wie oben haben. Geeignete und bevorzugte Beispiele· für die Gruppen-R2,
R3, R4 und R6 sind die gleichen, die oben im Zu-
■ 5 sammenhang mit den aliphatischen Triolen gegeben
wurden. Die Gruppen X1, Y1 und Z1 können also alle
aus >NH bestehen, in welchem Fall die Verbindung ein primäres Triamin ist, z. B. 1,2,3-Triäminopropan,
1,2,4-Triaminobutan oder l,3-Diamino-2-(aminomethyl)-propan.
Es können auch zwei der Gruppen X1, Y1 und Z1 aus Hydroxylgruppen bestehen, wobei
Verbindungen wie beispielsweise 2-Aminopropylenglykol.
und 2-(Aminomethyl)-butylenglykol erhalten werden. Ebenso können auch Verbindungen verwendet
werden, in denen zwei der Gruppen X1, Y1 und Z1
aus primären Aminogruppen bestehen und die dritte dieser Gruppen eine sekundäre Aminogruppe ist,
z. B. 2-(Methylamino)-propylendiamin oder 2-(N-Methylaminopropyl)-butylendiamin.
Darüber hinaus sind natürlich viele weitere Verbindungen möglich, in denen mindestens eine der Gruppen X1, Y1 und Z1
aus einer primären Aminogruppe besteht und die anderen Gruppen sekundäre Aminogruppen oder
Hydroxylgruppen sind.
· In der einbasischen Säure mit der Formel R5COOH
ist R5 eine Alkylgruppe mit vorzugsweise 12 bis
30 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie beispielsweise Octadecyl. Außerdem ist die Gruppe R5 vorzugsweise geradkettig.
Jedoch können auch Säuren verwendet werden, in denen R5 aus einer Alkenyl-, Alkaryl-, Aryl- oder
Aralkylgruppe besteht. Geeignete Säuren sind beispielsweise Dodecansäure, Heptadecansäure, EicosansTture,
Tetracosansäure, Triacontansäure, Benzoesäure und Phenylessigsäure. Es können auch Mischungen von
Monocarbonsäuren verwendet werden, wie beispielsweise eine Mischung von C12- und C^-Säuren.
Zur Herstellung der Polymerisate werden die drei Komponenten 1, 2 und 3 miteinander zur Reaktion
gebracht. Vorzugsweise werden sie dabei in aquimolaren Mengen miteinander umgesetzt, jedoch sind
auch ohne, weiteres geringe Abweichungen von den äquimolaren Mengen möglich, und es können beispielsweise
0,8 bis 1,2MoI der Komponente 1 mit 0,8 bis 1,2 Mol der Komponente 2 und 0,8 bis 1,2 Mol
der Komponente 3 umgesetzt werden.
Das Molekulargewicht der Polyester und Polyesteramide liegt, ^zwischen 1200 und 5000. Das bedeutet,
daß bei Verwendung der oben beschriebenen Verbindungen für die Umsetzung der Komponenten 1, 2
und 3 die Zahl η zwischen 2 und 6 und beispielsweise durchschnittlich bei 4 liegt.
Bei Verwendung von Säuren oder Estern als

3 werden für jedes erhaltene. Mol Polyester (3n —1) Mol Wasser (im Fall der Säure) oder Alkohol
(im Fall des Esters) gebildet. Bei Verwendung von
=. Anhydriden als Komponente 1 und, Umsetzung von
■:.. jeweils η Mol der Monomeren werden nur (2 η — 1) Mol
Wasser gebildet. ' l '
Das Molgewicht des Polymerisats kann durch die
bei der Polymerisation gebildete Wasser- oder Alkohol-. menge kontrolliert und gesteuert werden. So müssen
beispielsweise für ein Polymerisat mit durchschnittlich 4Einheiten, d.h. η = 4, bei Umsetzung von 4MoI
zweibasischer Säure oder Ester mit 4 Mol der Komponente^ und 4MoI der Komponente 3 11 Mol,
• d.h. (3« — I)MoI Wasser oder Alkohol entfernt
werden. Bei Verwendung eines zweibasischen Anhydrids an Stelle der Säure oder des Esters müssen
unter gleichen Umständen nur 7 Mol, d. h. (2 η — 1) Mol Wasser entfernt werden. So kann die Kettenlänge
des Polymerisats durch die Wasser- oder Alkoholmenge, welche entfernt wird, gesteuert werden. Für
ein Polymerisat mit größerer Kettenlänge muß mehr Wasser oder Alkohol ausgetrieben werden, d. h., die
Reaktionszeit muß ausgedehnt werden und/oder die Tenlperatur erhöht werden.
Zur Herstellung des Polymerisats können die drei Komponenten 1, 2 und 3 zusammen auf eine Temperatur
zwischen 100 und 30O0C, z.B. auf 2000C,
erhitzt werden. Die Polymerisationszeit beträgt vorzugsweise 2 bis 30 Stunden, beispielsweise 14 Stunden.
Die drei Komponenten 1, 2 und 3 können jedoch auch in einem Lösungsmittel, wie beispielsweise
Xylol, Toluol, Benzol oder Heptan, in Gegenwart eines Katalysators, wie beispielsweise p-Toluolsulfonsäure,
Sulfonsäure oder Schwefelsäure, unter Rückfluß erhitzt werden. Die Anwesenheit eines Katalysators
ist jedoch nicht erforderlich, wenn die Komponente 2 nur Aminogruppen enthält. Die Reaktionszeit beträgt
hierbei ebenfalls etwa 2 bis 20 Stunden. Das Reaktionswasser wird durch azeotrope Destillation entfernt.
Die Umsetzung kann auch in einem Zweistufenverfahren erfolgen, bei welchem man zunächst die
Komponenten 1 und 2 miteinander umsetzt und das Reaktionsprodukt aus dieser Umsetzung dann mit
der Komponente 3 umsetzt. Hierbei können gegebenenfalls auch ein Lösungsmittel und ein Katalysator
in jeder Reaktionsstufe verwendet werden, wobei für Katalysator und Lösungsmittel die gleichen Beispiele
wie oben gelten. .
Nach Beendigung der Reaktion wird das Polymerisat aus der Reaktionsmischung abgetrennt, beispielsweise
durch Abziehen des Lösungsmittels unter vermindertem Druck.
Besonders geeignet ist die Verwendung der Polymerisate für verhältnismäßig schwere öle, d.h. öle
mit einer kinematischen Viskosität über 15 cSt bei 37,8° C, bei denen mindestens 60 Gewichtsprozent bei
Atmosphärendruck über 260 sieden. Beispiele für derartige öle sind Heizöle, welche zum großen Teil
oder vollständig aus dem Destillationsrückstand von Rohöl bestehen und im allgemeinen Viskositäten
von 15 bis 300OcSt bei 37,80C haben. Das Polymerisat
wird vorzugsweise in einer auf das öl bezogenen Menge von 0,001 bis 10,0 Gewichtsprozent,
insbesondere von 0,01 bis 1,0 Gewichtsprozent, in das öl eingemischt.
Die Erfindung wird durch die folgenden Beispiele näher erläutert.

Mit C18- bis C^-Alkenylgruppen substituiertes
Bernsteinsäureanhydrid wurde mit Glycerin und einer Mischung von C20- und C22-n-Alkylcarbonsäuren in
äquimolaren Mengen erhitzt und die Mischung 14 Stunden lang auf 2000C gehalten. Der .entstandene
Polyester hatte ein Molgewicht von 2850.
Dieser Polyester wurde in Mengen von jeweils 0,3 Gewichtsprozent in zwei verschiedene öle I und II
eingemischt. Das öl I enthielt 32 Gewichtsprozent einer zwischen 177 und 3600C siedenden Destillatfraktion
und 68 Gewichtsprozent eines Rückstandsöles mit einem Siedepunkt von über 360° C und hatte
eine kinematische Viskosität von 43,2 cSt bei 37,8° C. Das öl II hatte einen Siedebeginn von 151,5° C und
enthielt 70 Gewichtsprozent über 260° C siedende Anteile; die kinematische Viskosität des zweiten Öles
betrug 58,6 cSt bei 37,8° C. Der Fließpunkt des Öles I wurde durch den Zusatz von 18,3 auf —3,9° C und der
Fließpunkt des Öles II von -3,9 auf -23,3° C gesenkt. Der Fließpunkt wurde nach der in DEF-2406
vom 10. Juli 1958 beschriebenen »Admiralty«-Methode VII bestimmt. Der Fließpunkt ist höher als der
Stockpunkt, mißt jedoch im wesentlichen die gleiche physikalische Eigenschaft wie dieser, und eine Erniedrigung
des Fließpunktes ist immer von einer Erniedrigung des Stockpunktes begleitet, wobei die Erniedrigung
des letzteren im allgemeinen größer ist.
Mit Q8- bis C^-Alkenylgruppen substituiertes
Bernsteinsäureanhydrid wurde mit Diäthanolamin und einer Mischung von C20- und C22-n-Alkylcarbonsäuren
in äquimolaren Mengen erhitzt und die Mischung 6 Stunden lang auf 2000C gehalten.
Das entstandene Polymerisat hatte ein Molgewicht von 1600 und wurde in Mengen von jeweils 0,3 Gewichtsprozent
in die beiden im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen öle I und II eingemischt. Hierdurch wurde der
Fließpunkt des Öles I von 18,3 auf -9,4° C und der Fließpunkt des Öles II von -3,9 auf -31,7° C gesenkt.
Bei Verwendung von 0,1 Gewichtsprozent dieses Polymerisats wurden die Fließpunkte der beiden öle I
und II von 18,3 auf -6,70C bzw. von -3,9 auf -28,9° C gesenkt.
Claims (3)
1. Verwendung von Polymerisaten, die durch Umsetzung 1. einer Dicarbonsäure, an deren
Kohlenstoffkette zwischen den beiden Carboxylresten ein C18- bis C^-Kohlenwasserstoffrest gebunden
ist bzw. des entsprechenden Anhydrids oder Esters, mit 2. einem Alkohol, Amin oder
Oxyamin mit jeweils drei öder mehr Hydroxyl- und/oder Aminoresten und 3. einer einbasigen
Säure erhalten worden sind und ein Molgewicht von 1200 bis 5000 besitzen, wobei die in der
Komponente 2 enthaltenen Aminoreste sekundäre Aminoreste sind, wenn die Kohlenstoffkette zwischen
den beiden Carboxylresten der Dicarbonsäure nur 2 oder 3 Kohlenstoffatome enthält,
als Zusatz für Heiz- oder Treiböle zur Fließpunkterniedrigung.
2. Verwendung eines Polymerisats nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß eine substituierte
Bernsteinsäure oder ein substituiertes Bernsteinsäureanhydrid mit einem Triol, vorzugsweise
mit Glycerin, einem sekundären Amin oder einem sekundären Oxyamin, vorzugsweise Diäthanolamin
oder Dipropanolamin, umgesetzt worden ist.
3. Verwendung eines Polymerisats gemäß Anspruch 1 und 2 als Zusatz zu Heiz- oder Treibölen
mit einer kinematischen Viskosität von über 15 cSt bei 37,8° C, bei denen mindestens 60 Gewichtsprozent
des Öles bei Atmosphärendruck über 260° C sieden, und in einer auf das öl bezogenen
Menge von 0,001 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent.
