Abstract

Un método para compactar una porción de producto y un aparato para lograr el mismo. La invención describe la recolección de producto pesado en un dispositivo intermedio de sedimentación para formar una porción de producto compacto. Este dispositivo puede comprender una cámara única de sedimentación o contener múltiples cámaras de sedimentación las cuales rotaran en un eje. La porción puede ser compactada por golpes y/o vibración del dispositivo de sedimentación. Después, el producto es descargado a un dispositivo de embalaje. Ya que el producto en l paquete original es más denso, un paquete más pequeño puede ser utilizado reduciendo los costos de fabricación y entrega.
