Abstract
Se describe un aparato para la reducción de NOx a baja temperatura, el cual es útil en instalaciones de calderas usadas en plantas de generación eléctrica. El aparato emplea uno o una pluralidad de reactores de lecho movible en donde un lecho movible de catalizador común base-metal es usado para la reducción catalítica selectiva de NOx presente en los gases de combustión. El lecho movible permite la introducción continua de catalizador fresco o regenerado, obviando así los problemas convencionales de envenenamiento por azufre y consecuente con reducción en la actividad catalítica con tales catalizadores. Debido a las bajas energías de activación de tales catalizadores, un SCR que utiliza los reactores del lecho movible descritos aquí puede ser localizado aguas abajo del calentador de aire, mejorando adicionalmente la eficiencia de la generación eléctrica. También se describen los métodos para la reducción de NOx a baja temperatura.
