Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent clogging of miving-bed type catalyst layer and to increase gas-absorption effeciency and removal efficiency of fine particles or dust with high electric resistance, by utilizing effectively the electrostatic force of dust having passed through an electric precipitating section for exhaust gas of a heat power plant etc.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas G is introduced through an inlet 8 into an electric precipitating section 1, where dust with low electric resistance and dust of relatively larger particle diameter is removed. The unprecipitated dust of high electric and of smaller particle diameter flows to a moving-bed type catalyst layer 2 as it is charged. Charged dust particles 9 having reached the catalyst layer 2 adhere to the surface of the first catalyst particle 10 by electrostatic cohesive power. In the simmiler way. each dust particle 9 tends to adhere to the particle 10 respectively, however because the casing 6 for the catalyst layer 2 is not grounded, the electric charge is held by the particle 9 consequently electrostatic repulsion is caused between the dust particle 9 and the new dust particle 9'. The particle 9' adheres to other catalyst particle 10; thus adherence of the particles 9 to the particle 10 is limited in number and the catalyst layer 2 is prevented from being clogged.
