Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain high dust collection performance in the stage of removing the dust in waste gases of combustion with an electrostatic filter type dust collector by applying electric charge to the dust, introducing the same to filters and utilizing the electrostatic attraction effect on filter surfaces and electrostatic repulsion effect.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gases of combustion produced by combustion of coal and contg. fine fly ashes at 1W20g/m3N dust concns. are introduced into an electric charging part 1 of an electrostatic dust precipitator, and are passed through the inside of the electric field by the corona discharge between a grounding electrode 2 and a discharge electrode 3 at 60W100mm/sec. velocities. The dust in the waste gas is electrostatically charged; at the same time, part thereof flocculates and forms large particles which are passed through the filters 7 in a filter type dust collection part 6 at 0.5W2cm/sec. velocities of flow. The electrostatically charged dust receives the filtration effect of low velocities on the filter surfaces and electrostatic attraction forces or electrostatic repulsion forces, and is collected by high dust capturing forces without causing ventilation losses, in filters.
