Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the ventillation loss of a bag filter considerably in charging the fine particles contained in gases electrostatically and collecting dust with said filter by providing grounded conductive grid electrodes opposite to filter surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gases of combustion of coal contg. fine particulate ashes are passed through the inside of an electric charger 1, and fine particles are electrostatically charged by generating corona discharge between a discharge electrode 11 and a grounded electrode 12. The charged particles are introduced into the next bag filter and dust collecting device 2, where the gases are filtered and are collected of dust by bag filters 21 provided in the inside. In this case, the porous grounded conductive grids 22 of wire-net are disposed opposite to the filter surfaces at the flowing-in sides of gas. Electrostatic fields act strongly upon the fine particle layers captured on the filters 21 of the parts opposite to the horizontal and vertical wires of grids 22 and the electrostatically charged particles gather in the parts where the electrostatic fields are weak; therefore the thinly dust-collected parts corresponding to the porous shapes of the grids 22 are formed, whereby ventilation losses are reduced and the effect of dust collection is improved.
