Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove collected particles easily by electrifying electrodes provided within a granular filter for collecting particles in exhaust by installing electrodes with a certain distance between each electrode. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas from a diesel engine is introduced into a filter 2 from a pipe 1, particles contained in the exhaust gas are collected by a granular filter 5, and the exhaust gas is cleaned and exhausted. Electrodes 8 are provided within the granular filter 5 by keeping a certain distance to each other and are electrified. The electrodes are electrified to flow electric current between them through the particles according as the particles are collected between the electrodes, and the particles are burnt and removed. With this, the particles contained within the filter are removed every time the particles accumulate in the filter and regeneration of the filter can be realized easily.
