Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable continuous incineration through a cleaner for removing particles of carbon or the like from exhaust gas, by providing a plurality of dust collection chambers and installing a discharge electrode, a dust collection electrode, a heater for the latter electrode and a shutter for each dust collection chamber. CONSTITUTION:When exhaust gas is introduced into a processing section, the gas flows into a dust collection chamber 4 whose shuter 10 is not closed. Particles are electrified by a discharge electrode 8 on which a high voltage is impressed, so that the particles are caught on a dust collection electrode 6. When the collection performance of the electrode 6 has fallen due to the clingging of a large amount of particles on the electrode, the shutter 10 is turned to close the dust collection chamber 4 and open another dust collection chamber 5 to cause the exhaust gas to flow so that other particles are collected. As for the closed chamber 4, electricity is supplied to a heater 7 to incinerate the particles caught on the dust collection electrode 6.
